So it’s hard for them to concentrate on the listening, meanwhile others are diffident and unwilling to speak in public. Therefore it’s a challenge for teacher to guide them to apply the reading and listening strategies appropriately and encourage them to speak more.

• This part is period 5 Animal Extinction in Module 2 Unit 4 Wildlife Protection, which is a comprehensive skill training lesson of reading and listening. It appears after the grammar part, which provided basic language expressions about wildlife protection. • In this part, we adopt extensive reading and extensive listening method, whose aim is to provide rich resources for the following speaking activities. And after learned the extinction about dinosaurs and dodos, students should be provoked the awearness of protecting endangered wildlife.
• 4.Doing a debate about the topic “ Keeping animals in the zoo is good or harmful for them ?” (10mins)
Homework •To write a short composition to introduce a kind of endangered animal. The content should include three aspects such as what animal, endangered reasons and the measures we can take .
•2.Listen to the tape for the first time to complete activity 3and then check the answers. (3mins)
•3.Listen again to complete activity 4 and then check the answers. (3mins) •4.Listen for the third time and find out the reasons for dodo’s extinction. (2mins)
