Packing and Shipping Marks Dear sirs,
We thank you for your letter of August 16 inquiring about the packing and the shipping marks of the goods under Contract No.483, and are pleased to indicate as the following:
All the goods are wrapped in plastic bags and packed in cans, the lids of which are sealed with adhesive tape. Twelve cans are packed in a wooden cases, which is nailed, and secured by overall metal strapping.
As regards shipping marks outside the wooden case, the wording “Made in China”is stenciled, in addition to gross, net and tare weight. Should you have any special preference in this respect, please
let us know and we shall be only too glad to meet your requirements.

Referring to our previous letters, we wish to call your attention to the fact that up to the present monment no news has come from you about the shipment under the captioned contract.
As you have been informed in one of your previous letters, the users are in urgent need of the machines contracted and are in fact pressing us for assurance of an early delivery.
Under the circumstances, it is
obviously impossible for us to again extend L/C No.123456, which expires on 20th August, and we feel it our duty to remind you of this matter again.
As your prompt attention to shipment is most desirable to all parties concerned, we hope you will fax us your shipping advice without further delay.
Uring Immediate Shipment
We wish to invite your attention to our order No.5781 covering 500 pieces Blue Woolen Serge, for which we sent to you about 30 days ago an irrevocable L/C which indicates expiration date on 31st October.
As the season is rapidly approaching,
our buyers are badly in need of the goods. We shall be very much obliged if you will effect shipment as soon as possible, thus enabling them to catch the brisk demand at the start of the season.
We would like to emphasize that any delay in shipping our booked order will undoubtedly involve us in no small difficulty.

Shipping Advice
We have pleasure in informing you that we have completed the above shipment in accordance with the stipulations set forth in the captioned L/C,
and we confirm our fax of today’s date, reading:

We are sending you under cover one set of duplicate shipping documents so that you may make all the necessary preparations to take delivery of the goods , when they duly arrive at your port.

Insurance
Answering your letter of June 25 in regard to insurance, we would like to inform you of the following:
All-Risks Generally we cover insurance W.P.A & War Risk in the absence of definite instrction from our clients. If you desire to cover All Risks, we can provide such coverage at a slghtly higher premium.
Breakage Breakage is a special
risk, for which an extra premium will have to be charged. The present rate is
about ..%. Claims are payable only for that part of the loss, that is over 5%.
Value to be insured we note that you wish us to insure shipments to you for 10% above invoice value, which is having our due attention.
We trust the above information will serve your purpose and await your further news.

We wish to refer you to our Order No. 1003 for 500 cases of Toys, from which you will see that this order was placed on a CFR basis.
As we now desire to have the shipment insured at your end, we shall be much pleased if you will kindly arrange to insure the same on our behalf against All Risks at invoice value plus 10%, i.e.
US$2,200.00.
We shall of course refund the premium to you upon receipt of your debit note or, if you like, you may draw on us at
sight for the same.
We sincerely hope that our request will meet your approval.
This is to acknowledge receipt of your letter dated Nov.15, 2007, requesting us to effect insurance on the captioned shipment for your account.
We are pleased to confirm having covered the above shipment with the Peoples Insurance Co. of China against All Risks for US $2,200.00. The policy is being prepared accordingly and will be forwarded to you by the end of the week together with our debit note for the premium.
For your information, this parcel will
be shipped on s/s “Jinan”, sailing on or about the 11th next month.
Insurance Claim
When the S.S. “Prince” arrived at Singapore on 16 June, it was noticed that one side of case No. 7 containing the “Fish” Typewriters was split. We therefore had the case opened and the contents examined by a local insurance surveyor in the presence of the shipping company’s agents. The case was invoiced as containing ten typewriters, eight of which were badly damaged.
We enclose the surveyor’s report and the shipping agent’s statement. As you
hold the insurance policy we should be grateful if you would take the matter up for us with the insurers.
Eight replacement typewriters will be required. Please arrange to supply these and charge to our account.
We hope no difficulty will arise in connection with the insurance claim and thank you in advance for your trouble on our behalf.。
