【经典范文】Dear Sir/Madam,I'm writing to inform you of a newly discovered ancient temple in our city.It was built in the late Tang Dynasty. On the walls of the temple are many paintings, which show us how people at that time lived. The wall paintings are of great value. But I am worried about them because some of them are damaged by air pollution, which comes from visitors who come in every day.I think some measures should be taken immediately. First, we should put glass walls in front of the paintings. Second, the number of visitors should be limited. And we should build a website where people can look at the pictures and paintings of the temple. Only in this way can we protect the temple properly.Looking forward to hearing from you.Yours sincerely,Li Hua 【名师点拨】文中使用了较为高级的词汇和句式,如inform sb. of sth., be of great value, take measures, look forward to等以及倒装句、定语从句、原因状语从句等。

What to Do When Someone Doesn't Like You
When someone tells me, "I don't care if people like me," they are showing me the emotional wall they use to block the hurt of rejection.
As humans are social animals, all of us care if people like us. Based on the need for social connection, your reactions to rejection and negative judgment can range from minor hurt to breakouts of depression. 1 _____
The first step to handle a negative situation is to recognize your reaction. Ask yourself, "What am I feeling?". 2 _____ Any betrayal (背叛) or embarrassments in your heart? Identify what feeling has shown up in your body? so you can choose what to do next.
3 _____ When you sense yourself shutting down or feeling defensive, ask yourself what the person actually meant to do to you, Did they truly mean to offend you, or make fun of you? Your brain works very hard to keep you safe, so it will judge a situation as threatening if there is any possibility of social harm.
When our brains sense a possible threat, we react as if we were personally attacked. Take a breath to relieve the stress, 4 _____
Finally, if you believe the person doesn't like you, ask yourself if this matters.
5 _____ If not, what can you do to release your need to be liked by this person? And, what can you do to stay neutral and not return the dislike? The more you can come to accept others as who they are, the more you can move forward with your goals regardless if someone likes you or not.
A. If you can, look the person in their eyes.
B. Do you feel any fear or anger in your head?
C. Ask yourself what is true about the situation.
D. Often people do not realize the impact of their words.
E. Will the person's judgment of you impact your work or life?
F. The ability to let a show of dislike roll off your back is a learned skill.
G. This will ground you in the present and take you out of your trembling mind.

Men get beer bellies from beer.
We blame the beer for the belly. It is widely believed that men who constantly drink beer end up with a beer belly. However, it is not the beer that's to blame, but the abundance of unhealthy snacks that often accompany the drink. Alcohol in beer irritates the stomach, therefore causing an increased appetite. Dr. Michael Jensen, an obesity specialist in Minnesota USA says that drinking beer makes liver bum alcohol instead of fat, leaving the latter to accumulate in the waste. 2______ while the one of women’s accumulates in the hips and bottoms, as a result of different sexual characteristics.
3______.
We are told that dogs see the world in black and white. But the truth is that they can distinguish colors just not in the same way we do. Jay Needs from the University of Washington in Seattle proves that our furry friends are able to receive a limited range of colors, which means they can distinguish objects of the same shape. In general, a dog's vision is very similar to that of a person with red﹣green color blindness.
Carrots improve eyesight.
4______. This myth came into existence during the Second World War. The British Army claimed that fighter pilots had excellent night vision as a result of their consumption of large quantities of carrots. Actually, they had radars onboard which made it faster and easier to detect the enemies. The myth about the amazing power
of carrots was invented and spread by the media so that enemies would not learn about the fact. 5______.
