旧金山又叫三藩市，“三藩市”之名，取自该市英文名称San Francisco的粤语音译，是居住于此地为数不少的粤语族群及团体较常用之译名，这里是美国加州淘金潮的中心地区，早期华工到美国淘金后多居住于此，称之为“金山”，但直到在澳大利亚的墨尔本发现金矿后，为了与被称作“新金山”的墨尔本区别，而改称这个城市为“旧金山”。

途径汽车总站，渔人码头附近，中国城附近，市政府，是参观旧金山市容最佳路线。
旧金山的公共汽车也很多。
也可换乘多条其他公共汽车路线。
