结构make it difficult for them to do some things可以改成make some things for them to do省去it形式主语。

动词不定式短语to try to overcome these difficulties作目的状语。

句型:make it adj./n. (for somebody) to do something→make something adj./n. (for somebody) to do有类似句型的动词:believe, consider, feel, find, judge, make, regard, suppose, think等。
