作文:1. For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic " Should One Own a Car?". The beginning of each paragraph is given. Your part of writing should be no less than 120 words.1. Car is very important nowadays in our life….2. There are, on the other hand, many good reasons against having a car….3. In my opinion,…Car is very important nowadays in our life.In Spain every family has a car. but sometimes these families have more than one car. In consequence, it suposes more ecologycal problems. In fact, there are a lot of arguments for and against or having a car.One of the strongest arguments against having a car is the ecologycal problem that is produced by this transport. Pollution is increasing and petroil is decreasing more every year in the world.Furthermore, to drive a car suposes to spend a lot of time and to respect the rules, and if there is a lot of traffic you must wait. There are, on the other hand, many good reasons against having a carthere are several arguments for having a car. Firstly, if you have this vehicle you have also more freedom because you don’t depend on public transport and its timetable. Secondly, you can travel and go wherever you want and the cost of this trip will not be so expensive as travelling by plane. Thridly, for a family of medium class the cost of having a car is better than the cost of paying a different transport for every trip. Finally, if you have an emergency you can drive your car and to solve your problem. In my opinion, the fact of having a car is very important in our society, aulthough it would be necessary that all the families wich have more than one car, they should think in the possibility of use pulic transport. On balance, nowadays there are more people that has started to use gasoil (a product that can sustitute petroil).2. For this part, you are allowed 30 minutes to write a composition on the topic "SHOULD EXAMINATION BE ABOLISHED". Your composition should be based on your own understanding of the topic and it should be no less than 120 words. As we know that the examination system has come to be the main theme of modern education. Every one from his early child-hood should take endless examinations and succeed in passing them, before he could graduate from a college or university. As much importance has been attached to it in schooleducation, it has been subjected to mounting criticism as to its validity. People in favor of it praise this system to great extent; and those oppos-ing to it maintain that such a system should be abolished.A lot of people think that the examination system should be abolished. In the first place, because of the existence of the exami-nation system, students go out for gaining high marks so that they often forget the main purpose of education. Many so-called "clever" students are nothing but bookworms who merely know the skeleton of knowledge. The aim of education is to enablestu-dents to learn how to live, how to work, and how to contribute to the country with their expertise. To do this, the students must re-ceive training, in physical as well as mental areas. But the present examination system has discouraged students from making such an attempt. To summarize, I really think that the examination system should be further improved instead of being abolished. Hopefully, one day we can study for our ideals without great pressure. And if that is so, I can definitely see a bright future ahead out there wait-ing for us anxiously !阅读:1.[A] very serious2.[C] hardly care about law and order3.[D] stealing sweets from a chain store was illegal4.[C] they have enough money to buy them5.[D] both A and C6.[A] know very well what crime is7.[A] severe punishment once used in the past8.[D] she went to school in Denmark9.[C] It was rather cold.10.[A] complain angrily when handling our luggage11.[B] They had to buy new furniture.12.[A] To learn more English.13.[A] are fond of having anything but meaningless conversations14.[B] boring15.[D] good manners are very important to everyone16.[B] since before the time of Christ17.[B] among people living close together18.[C] was not to break out again19.[C] fifteen million people20.[A] the virus could not be found and vaccine developed21.[A] a good international reporting system22.[D] they change their nature quickly23.[B] worldwide health organizations24.[C] Soldier Sickness25.[D] people who have a lot of free time26.[A] are in great demand27.[D] expensive28.[B] exercise29.[C] want to keep fit30.[B] running energetically31.[C] to show people's interest in exercise32.[A] did not like any kind of sports33.[B] vague about his own attitude34.[A] drought35.[B] ruined36.[B] the river could be used for irrigation37.[C] doubtful38.[C] Tom was an outsider who had learned farming from books39.[D] they should buy the new fertilizer with vitamin40.[D] the water-wagon was once used by a college to carry water41.[D] none of the above42.[C] were bent and twisted but not damaged43.[B] reading more wisely44.[D] hinders reading efficiency45.[C] to understand meaning46.[C] not absolutely essential to the grasp of meaning47.[C] point at key words48.[C] a textbook49.[C] reduces the death rate in traffic accidents50.[B] make the front seat children under 14 wear a seat belt51.[B] Someone who is picking up the children from the local school.52.[C] to get a valid medical certificate before wearing a seat belt53.[B] The Buildings Designed by the Greatest Architect Frank Lloyd Wright54.[B] beautiful in design and practical in use55.[A] It hadn't formed its own style yet.56.[C] architectural design should match natural surroundings57.[D] The houses are characterized by lines similar to those on the grassland.58.[B] promoting their physical and mental health59.[C] providing ideas that help in recovering the lost memory60.[B] find it difficult sometimes to deal with matters calmly61.[D] By ignoring them and talking about something else.62.[C] helping them to revive old memories63.[A] the presence of religious institutions64.[B] It is not clearly told in the passage.65.[B] Time and Culture.66.[D] All of the above.67.[C] people of different generations may have different views towards life, work and play68.[D] Both A and C.69.[D] the government would have funds to work for the welfare of people70.[A] protect persons and property71.[C] Everyone has his right to make a decision on the matter.72.[C] the government had to pay all kinds of costs73.[A] life insurance isn't fun to buy74.[A] many people prefer not to confront the subject75.[D] You should believe in either your agent only or those empirical estimates.76.[A] either you or your family might suffer77.[D] All of the above.78.[D] 9 years79.[C] Rome80.[D] people who compete in the games81.[B] Sir Ludwig Guttmann is an injured soldier.82.[D] in favor of holding the games for the disabled83.[D] planning our time scientifically84.[A] Americans are forced to be efficient against their will85.[C] Speeded-up work efficiency.86.[B] were able to act of our own free will87.[A] a slow-moving person88.[B] the role of spelling in general language development89.[D] to avoid using words one is not sure of90.[B] teachers will have less trouble in correcting mistakes91.[D] careless92.[D] the relationship between spelling and the content of a composition客观题21~5 DACCC 6~10 BCCDC11~15 AACAA 16~20 CAACC21~25 AAACD 26~30 CCABC翻译题1.美国一直是个单一的经济体,没有限制贸易的法规,这一事实也促成了这种一体性。

You should write at least 120 words, and base your composition on the outline given in Chinese below.1. 有人喜欢养宠物,也有人反对养宠物,他们都有各自的道理2. 我的看法On Keeping Pets【参考答案】:In almost every neighborhood, there are people wholike pets and people who don't. The former group of people think that pets are good and helpful companions. Some of them even go so far as saying that animals are also human, and their rights should be respected. Those who hate pets say that animals are noisy, dirty and dangerous. They think laws should be made to forbid people to keep dogs and cats in cities and towns. The different opinions on keeping pets, which reflect personal preferences, have caused many disputes and much unpleasantness among people who are close neighbors.Personally I do not like pets. But I think we should learn to respect the rights of pet lovers. We have no right to forbid people to keep pets in their homes, as long as the animals are properly taken care of and do not threaten the safety and peace of others.翻译【作业要求】:单句翻译(英译汉)Directions:In this section you are required to translate some English sentences into Chinese. You may choose a paragraph more than once. The Peak Time For EverythingA)Could you pack more into each day if you did everything at the optimal time? A growing body of research suggests that paying attention to the body clock, and its effects on energy and alertness, can help pinpoint the different times of day when most of us perform our best at specific ta sks, from resolving conflicts to thinking creatively.1. Keep pace with natural rhythms.B) Most people organize their time around everything but the body's natural rhythms. Workday demands, commuting, social events and kids' schedules frequently dominate -- inevitably clashing with the body's circadian(生理节奏的) rhythms of waking and sleeping.C)Disruption of circadian rhythms has been linked to such problems as diabetes, depression, dementia(痴呆)and obesity, says Steve Kay, a professor of molecular and computational biology at the University of Southern California. When the body's master clock can synchronize functioning of all its metabolic(新陈代谢的), cardiovascular and behavioral rhythms in response to light and other natural stimuli, it 'gives us an edge in daily life,' Dr. Kay says.D)When it comes to doing cognitive work, for example, most adults perform best in the late morning, says Dr. Kay. As body temperature starts to rise just before awakening in the morning and continues to increase through midday, working memory, alertness and concentration gradually improve. Taking a warm morning shower can jump-start the process. E)The ability to focus and concentrate typically starts toslide soon thereafter. Most people are more easily distracted from noon to 4 p.m., according to recent research led by Robert Matchock, an associate professor of psychology at Pennsylvania State University. Alertness tends to slump after eating a meal, Dr. Matchock found. Sleepiness also tends to peak around 2 p.m., making that a good time for a nap, says Martin Moore-Ede, chairman and chief executive of Circadian,a Stoneham, Mass., training and consulting firm.2. Make good use of fatigue.F) Surprisingly, fatigue may boost creative powers. For most adults, problems that require open-ended thinking are often best tackled in the evening when they are tired, according to a 2011 study in the journal Thinking & Reasoning. When 428 students were asked to solve a series of two types of problems, requiring either analytical or novel thinking, their performance on the second type was best at non-peak times of day when they were tired, according to the study led by Mareike Wieth, an assistant professor of psychological sciences at Albion College in Michigan. (Their performance on analytical problems didn't change over the course of the day.) Fatigue, Dr. Wieth says, may allow the mind to wander more freely to explore alternative solutions.G) Of course, everyone's body clock isn't the same, making it even harder to synchronize natural rhythms with daily plans. A significant minority of people operate on either of two distinctive chronotypes, research shows: Morningpeople tend to wake up and go to sleep earlier and to be most productive early in the day. Evening people ten d to wake up later, start more slowly and peak in the evening.3. Attach great importance to communication online.H) Communicating with friends and colleagues online has its own optimal cycles, research shows. Sending emails early in the day helps beat the inbox rush; 6 a.m. messages are most likely to be read, says Dan Zarrella, social-media scientist for HubSpot, a Cambridge, Mass.I) Reading Twitter at 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. can start your day ona cheery note. That's when users are most likely to tw eet upbeat, enthusiastic messages, and least likely to senddownbeat tweets steeped in fear, distress, anger or guilt, according to a study of 509 million tweets sent over two years by 2.4 million Twitter users, published last year in Science. One likely factor? 'Sleep is refreshing' and leaves people alert and enthusiastic, says Michael Walton Macy, a sociology professor at Cornell University and co-author of the study. The cheeriness peaks about 1-1/2 hours later on weekends -- perhaps because people are sleeping in, Dr. Macy says.J) Other social networking is better done later in the day. If you want your tweets to be re-tweeted, post them between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., when many people lack energy to share their own tweets and turn to relaying other s' instead, Mr. Zarrella says. And posts to Facebook at about 8 p.m. tend to get the most 'likes,' after people get home from work or finish dinner. At that time of day, they're likely to turn to Facebook feeling less stressed. 'You have less stuff to do a nd more time to give,' says Mr. Zarrella.K) Late-night drama can be found on Twitter, where emotions heat up just before bedtime, between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m., says Scott Andrew Golder, a Ph.D. candidate at Cornell University and co-author of the Twitter study. At that time, people tended to send more emotion-laden tweets, both positive and negative. Tired out by the workday, but also freed from its stresses and demands, people become 'more alert and engaged, but also more agitated,' Dr. Macy says.4. Choose the right exercise time.L) When choosing a time of day to exercise, paying attention to your body clock can also improve results. Physical performance is usually best, and the risk of injury least, from about 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., says Michael Smol ensky, an adjunct professor of biomedical engineering at the University of Texas, Austin, and lead author with Lynne Lamberg of 'The Body Clock Guide to Better Health.'M) Muscle strength tends to peak between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. at levels as much as 6% ab ove the day's lows, improving your ability to grip a club or racquet. Another boost for physical strength comes from the lungs, which function17.6% more efficiently at 5 p.m. than at midday, according toa study of 4,756 patients led by Boris Medarov, an assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College in New York. N) Eye-hand coordination is best in late afternoon, making that a good time for racquetball or Frisbee. And joints and muscles are as much as 20% more flexible in the evenin g, lowering the risk of injury, Dr. Smolensky says. These body rhythms hold true regardless of how much you've slept or how recently you've eaten.1. Due to different body clocks, people may feel it difficult tolans. [16].【参考答案】:Gphysical rhythms. The statement "In myfridgeless Fifties childhood, I wasfed well and healthily." suggeststhat ____.In my fridgeless Fifties childhood, I was fed well and healthily. The milkman came daily, the grocer, the butcher, the baker, and the ice-cream man delivered two or three times a week. The Sunday meat would last until Wednesday and surplus (剩余) bread and mild became all kinds of cakes. Nothing was wasted, and we were never troubled by rotten food. Thirty years on, food deliveries have ceased, fresh vegetables are almost unobtainable in the country. The invention of the fridge contributed comparatively little to the art of food preservation. A vast way of well-tried techniques already existed - natural cooling, drying, smoking, sugaring, bottling ...What refrigeration did promote was marketing - marketing hardware and electricity, marketing soft drinks, marketing dead bodies of animals around the globe in search of a good price. Consequently, most of the world's fridges are to be found, not in the tropics where they might prove useful, but in the wealthy countries with mild temperatures where they are climatically almost unnecessary. Every winter, millions of fridges hum away continuously, and at vast expense, busily maintaining anartificially-cooled space inside an artificially-heated house - while outside, nature provides the desired temperature free of charge. What is the author's overall attitude toward fridges?____[A] Neutral.[B] Critical.[C] Objective.[D] Compromising.【参考答案】:BPassage 2Status is a marvelous human invention that enables us to get along with one another and to determine where we "fit" in society. As we go about our everyday lives, we mentally attempt to place people in terms of their status. For example, we must judge whether the person in the library is a reader or a librarian, whether the telephone caller is a friend or a salesman, whether the unfamiliar person on our property is a thief or a meter reader, and so on.The status we assume often varies with the people we encounter, and changes throughout life. Most of us can. at very high speed, assume the status with various requirements. Much of social interaction consists of identifying and selecting among appropriate status and allowing other people to assume their status in relation to us. This means that we fit our actions to those of other people based on a constant mental process of appraisal and interpretation.

Passage 1People travel for a lot of reasons. Some-tourists go to see battlefields of religious shrines. Others are looking for culture, or simply want to have their pictures taken in front of famous places, but most European tourists are looking for a sunny beach to lie on.Northern Europeans are willing to pay a lot of money and put up with a lot of inconveniences for the sun because they have so little of it. Residents of cities like London, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam spend a lot of their winter in the dark because the days are so short, and much of the rest of the year is in the rain. This is the reason why the Mediterranean has always attracted them. Every summer, more than 25 million people travel to Mediterranean resorts and beaches for their vacation. They all come for the same reason, sun!The huge crowds mean lots of money for the economies of Mediterranean countries. Italy's 30,000 hotels are booked solid every summer. And 13 million people camp out on French beaches, parks and roadsides. Spain's long sandy coastline attracts more people than anywhere else. 37 million tourists visit yearly, or one tourist for every person living in Spain. But there are signs that the area is getting more tourism than it can handle. The Mediterranean is already one of the most polluted seas on earth. And with increased tourism, it's getting worse. The French can't figure out what to do with all the garbage left by campers around St. Tropez. And in many places, swimming is dangerous because of pollution.None of this, however, is spoiling anyone’s fun. The Mediterranean gets more popular every year with tourists. Obviously, they don’t go there for clean water and solitude. They tolerate traffic jams and seem to like crowded beaches. They don't even mind the pollution. No matter h0w dirty the water is, the coastline still looks beautiful. And as long as the sun shines, it’s still better than sitting in the cold rain in Berlin, London or Oslo. The writer seems to imply that Europeans travel mostly for the reason that ____.[A] they want to see historic remains or religious SPOTS[B] they wish to escape from the cold, dark and rainy days back at home[C] they would like to take pictures in front of famous sites[D] they are interested in different cultural traditions and social customs【参考答案】:BIn paragraph 2, cities like London, Copenhagen, and Amsterdam are mentioned ____.[A] to show that they are not good cities in terms of geography and climate[B] to prove that they have got more tourism than they can handle[C] to suggest that these cities lack places of historic interest and scenic beauty[D] to tell us how wealthy their residents are【参考答案】:AAccording to the passage, which of the following countries attracts more tourists than the others?____[A] Italy.[B] Spain.[C] France.[D] Greece.【参考答案】:BThe latter half of the last sentence in paragraph 3, i. e. , "or one tourist for every person living in Spain" means ____.[A] all the 37 million people living in Spain are tourists[B] every Spanish is visited by a tourist every year[C] every person living in Spain has to take care of a tourist[D] every year almost as many tourists visit Spain as there are people living in that country 【参考答案】:DAccording to the passage, which of the following fac tors might spoil the tourist’s fun at Mediterranean resorts and beaches?____[A] Polluted water.[B] Crowded.[C] Traffic jams.[D] Rainy weather.【参考答案】:DPassage 2Looking back on my childhood, I am convinced that naturalists are born and not made.Although we were all brought up in the same way, my brothers and sisters soon abandoned their pressed flowers and insects. Unlike them, I had no ear for music and languages. I was not an early reader and I could not do mental arithmetic. Before World War I we spent our summer holidays in Hungary. I have only the dim memory of the house we lived in, of my room and my toys. Nor do I recall clearly the large family of grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who gathered next door. But I do have a crystal-clear memory of the dogs, the farm animals, the local birds, and above all, the insects.I am a naturalist, not a scientist. I have strong love of the natural world and my enthusiasm had led me into varied investigations. I love discussing my favourite topics and enjoy burning the midnight oil reading about other people’s observations and discoveries. Then something happens that brings these observations together in my conscious mind. Suddenly you fancy you see the answer to the riddle, because it all seems to fit together. This has resulted in my publishing 300 papers and books, which some might honour with the title of scientific research. But curiosity, a keen eye, a good memory and enjoyment of the animal and plant world do not make a scientist: one of the outstanding and essential qualities required is self-discipline, a quality I lack. A scientist, up to point, can be made. A naturalist is born. If you can combine the two, you get the best of both worlds. The first paragraph tells us the author ____.[A] was interested in flowers and insects in his childhood[B] lost his hearing when he was a child[C] was born to a naturalist's family[D] didn't like his brothers and sisters【参考答案】:AThe author can’t remember his relati ves clearly because ____.[A] he didn't live very long with them[B] he was fully occupied with observing nature[C] the family was extremely large[D] he was too young when he lived with them【参考答案】:BIt can be inferred from the passage that the author was ____.[A] first of all a scientist[B] a naturalist but not a scientist[C] no more than a born naturalist[D] a scientist as well as a naturalist【参考答案】:CThe author says that he is a naturalist rather than a scientist probably because he thinks he ____.[A] has a great deal of trouble doing mental arithmetic[B] comes up with solutions in a most natural way[C] lacks some of the qualities required of a scientist[D] just reads about other people’s observations and di scoveries【参考答案】:CAccording to the author, a born naturalist should first of all be ____.[A] full of ambition[B] self-disciplined[C] full of enthusiasm[D] knowledgeable【参考答案】:CPassage 3One hundred and thirteen million Americans have at least one bank-issued credit card. They give their owners automatic credit in stores, restaurants, hotels, at home, across the country, and even abroad, and they make many banking services available as well. More and more of these credit cards can be read automatically, making it possible to withdraw or deposit money in scattered locations, whether or not the local branch bank is open. For many of us the cashless society is not on the horizon—it's already here. While computers offer these conveniences to consumers, they have many advantages for sellers too. Electronic cash registers can do much more than simply ring up sales. They can keep a wide range of records, including who sold what, when, and to whom. This information allows businessmen to keep track of their list of goods by showing which items are being sold and how fast they are moving. Decisions to reorder or return goods to suppliers can then be made. At the same time these computers record which hours are busiest and which employees are the most efficient, allowing personnel and staffing assignments to be made accordingly. And they also identify preferred customer for promotional campaigns. Computers are relied on by manufacturers for similar reasons. Computer analyzed marketing reports can help to decide which products to emphasize now, which to develop for the future, and which to drop. Computers keep track of goods in stock, of raw materials on hand, and even of the production process itself.Numerous other commercial enterprises, from theaters to magazine publishers, from gas and electric utilities to milk processors, bring better and more efficient services to consumers through the use of computers.隐藏<<According to the passage, the credit card enables its owner to____.[A] withdraw as much money from the bank as he wishes[B] obtain more convenient services than order people do[C] enjoy greater trust from the storekeeper[D] cash money where he wishes to【参考答案】:BFrom the last sentence of the first paragraph we learn that____.[A] in the future all the Americans will use credit cards[B] credit cards are mainly used in the United States today[C] nowadays many Americans did not pay in cash[D] it is now more convenient or use credit cards than before【参考答案】:CThe phrase "ring up sales" most probably means "____".[A] make an order of goods[B] record sales on a cash register[C] call the sales manager[D] keep track of the goods in stock【参考答案】:BWhat is this passage mainly about?____[A] Approaches to the commercial use of computers.[B] Conveniences brought about by computers in business.[C] Significance of automation in commercial enterprises.[D] Advantage of credit cards in business.【参考答案】:BIt can be inferred that ____.[A] computers will bring disaster[B] computer industry will not develop faster[C] computers will bring about more convenience to people’s life[D] None.【参考答案】:CPassage 4According to psychologists, an emotion is aroused when a man or an animal views something as either bad or good. When a person feels like running away from something he thinks will hurt himself, we call this emotion fear. If the person wants to remove the danger by attacking it, we call the emotion anger. The emotions of joy and love are aroused when we think something that can help us. An emotion does not have to be created by something in the outside world. It can be created by a person's thoughts.Everyone has emotions. Many psychologists believe that infants are born without emotions. They believe children learn emotions just as they learn to read and write. A growing child not only learns his emotions but also learns how to act in certain situations because of an emotion.Psychologists think that there are two types of emotions: positive and negative. Positive emotions include love, liking, joy, delight, and hope. They are aroused by something that appeals to a person. Negative emotions make a person unhappy or dissatisfied. They include anger, fear, despair, sadness, and disgust. In growing up, a person learns to cope with the negative emotions in order to be happy.Emotions may be weak or strong. Some strong emotions are so unpleasant that a person will try any means to escape from them. In order to feel happy, the person may choose unusual ways to avoid the emotion.Strong emotions can make it hard to think and to solve problems. They may prevent aperson from learning or paying attention to what he is doing. For example, a student taking an examination may be so worried about failing that he cannot think properly. The worry drains valuable mental energy he needs for the examination. We learn from the passage that an emotion is created by something that ____.[A] one thinks bad or good[B] one feels in danger[C] one faces in the outside world[D] one tries to escape from real life【参考答案】:AWhich of the following is not true?____[A] Children learn emotions as they grow up.[B] Babies are born with emotions.[C] Emotions fall into two types in general.[D] People can cope with the negative emotions in life.【参考答案】:BThe author's purpose of writing this passage is to ____.[A] explain why people have emotions[B] show how people avoid the negative emotions[C] explain what people should do before emotions[D] define and classify people's emotions【参考答案】:DWe can safely conclude that a student may fail in an exam if ____.[A] he cannot think properly[B] he can't pay attention to it[C] he can't finish it[D] he is not full of energy【参考答案】:BAs used in the last sentence, the word "drains" means ____.[A] stops[B] ties[C] weakens[D] flows gradually【参考答案】:CPassage 5Reading to oneself is modern activity which was almost unknown to the scholars of the classical and medieval (between AD 1100 and 1500) worlds, while during the fifteenth century the term "reading" undoubtedly meant reading aloud. Only during the nineteenth century did silent reading become commonplace. One should be careful, however, in assuming that silent reading came about simply because reading aloud is distraction to others. Examination of factors related to the historical development of silent reading reveals that it became the usual mode of reading for most adult reading tasks mainly because the tasks themselves changed in character. The last century saw a steady gradual increase in literacy, and thus in the number of readers. As readers increased, so the number of potential listeners decreased, and thus there was somereduction in the need to read aloud. As reading for the benefit of listeners grew less common, so came the flourishing of reading as a private activity in such public places as libraries, railway carriages and offices, where reading aloud would cause distraction to other readers.Towards the end of the century there was still considerable argument over whether books should be used for information or treated respectfully, and over whether the reading of materials such as newspapers was in some way mentally weakening. Indeed this argument remains with us still in education. However, whatever its virtues, the old shared literacy culture had gone and was replaced by the printed mass media on the one hand and by book and magazines for a specialized readership on the other.By the end of the century students were being recommended to adopt attitudes to books and to use skills in reading them which were inappropriate, if not impossible, for the oral reader. The social, cultural, and technological changes in the century had greatly altered what the term "reading" implied. Why didn't silent reading become common before the nineteenth century?____[A] There were few places for people to have silent reading.[B] Few people could read for themselves.[C] Scholars disagreed with this kind of reading before the 19th century.[D] People all thought that "reading" undoubtedly meant reading aloud.【参考答案】:BWhat did the development of silent reading during the nineteenth century indicate?____[A] An increase in the number of listeners.[B] An increase in the number of books.[C] A decrease in literacy.[D] A change in the nature of reading.【参考答案】:DIn education, we’re also arguing about ____.[A] combining silent reading with reading aloud[B] the amount of information students can get from books and newspapers[C] the value of different types of reading material[D] the importance of using right reading skills【参考答案】:CThe mass media and specialized reading materials replaced the old shared literacy culture. This fact shows that ____.[A] the techniques in printing had improved[B] reader's interests had become varied[C] literate people's attitudes had changed[D] books had been used for information【参考答案】:BWhat is the author's purpose in writing this passage?____[A] Encourage students to read more books.[B] Tell the importance of reading.[C] Show how reading methods have changed.[D] Explain how present reading habits developed.【参考答案】:D。
