This reminds me of Yanzi,a famous politician in the history. When he was sent to a foreign country to negotiate with the emperor,he was teased by all the foreigners because he was very short. They looked down upon on him at the beginning, throwing various jokes on him. However, his distinguished ability of speaking and extraordinary intelligence won back the respect from them. He proved that appearance doesn’t decide everything, and his diligence helped him succeed.2.
例一读写任务(09年广东卷)Jackie is perhaps the most easily annoyed koala(考拉) at the Featherdale Wildlife Park in southern Australia. All the koalas there are unhappy and complaining. You would be too if you were used to night activities and someone kept waking you up all day while you were trying to sleep it off. That`s right--sleep it off. The average koala is always half asleep because it feeds on the leaves of a special kind that makes it sleepy. The reason Jackie and her fellow koalas are repeatedly awoken from their deep sleep is that they canbe hugged and photographed by tourists, who make the trips to Featherdale and an increasing number of other national parks for just that special experience.Whatever department in the Aussie government in charge of such things is now moving to make the practice illegal, which is understandable. How would you react, my friend, if you were trying to sleep off a dozen times and some round, furry creature smelling of grass kept waking you?【写作内容】1.
I have a bitter experience. When I was a child, I lived a poor life, and I had a happy and meaningful life in my childhood. And my parents were always respecting each other. And now we have some money, and our life has improved a lot. To tell the truth, it is a good thing. Unfortunately, My father always goes out and takes part in the gambling activities. And my mother sometimes quarrels with my father. I am unhappy about it. I think money doesn’t equal happiness. And pain-free life doesn’t equal happiness either. The real happiness is that everyone loves each other, and does everything useful for our society.(2) Last month, I had a very unforgettable birthday. That was Thursday so I still had to go to school. When I got home that evening after school, I found all my relative waiting there for me. Now you can see why I’ll never forget my seventeenth birthday.(3). I can't agree more with the writer on this point. Years of school life has taught me that teamwork is the most important. I still remember when I was chosen monitor of my class when I was in Grade 10. Then I turned to my teacher, Mr. Wang, and he advised me to cooperate with others. Thus I began to recogn ize the strengths of my classmates and have everyone do their part in class. With the wisdom and devotions of my classmates,I felt much happier and everything seemed to be easier. Thereforeit was working in teams instead of on my ownthat freed me of trouble and made my work more efficient.(4)我心中的英雄的事迹I suppose everyone has his own hero. And I don’t think a hero has to fight in the war or do something to help millions of lives. A hero to me is someone who will try hard to do well what he or she should do.My head teacher is my hero. She is a very nice woman. She takes good care of our study and life at school. Every day she gets to school early in the morning and goesback home late, just to make sure that everyone of us is doing the best. Whenever we are in trouble, she is always ready to help. And of course she’s become my hero. So a hero isn’t so far away, isn’t it?(5)一次迷路或历险的经历I will never forget my experience of visiting the zoo in Guangzhou when I was a little boy. I went there with my parents on a Sunday. I was very excited to see so many animals in th e zoo and just couldn’t wait to look at the lions and tigers. I suddenly realized that my parents were not with me. I was so scared and began to cry when thinking about the possibility of being kidnapped or being eaten up by the animals. Then a man in uniform came to me and took me to the gate after asking about my name and my parents’names. Soon my parents heard the broadcast and came to find me. They were even more frightened than I was.(6)跟朋友在一起的好处或得朋友帮忙的事例In my case, maths was once my nightmare in my study. However, it was my friend, Wang, who gave me a hand as well as a chance to solve the problem. Although I was rather slow, he guided me to work out many maths problems with great patience. And finally, I step by step learned to work them out by myself and I think it is our joint effort that worked . And no words can express my gratitude towards him.(7)忽视他人优点的后果If we only see the faults and forget the good in a person, the good will disappear. In the end. ZhangDong, one of my classmates, was a smart boy and he was always ready to help others. However, he didn’t work hard and was often late for class. One day, Zhang Dong took a sick old man to the hospital on his way to school. Of course he was late again. His teacher was angry and didn’t let him in, though he kept explaining. From then on, he didn’t work at his lesson at all.(8)如何克服恐惧的例子I remember when I was a child, I was afraid of dogs. What my parents did was not to keep me away from dogs but to encourage me to spend time with them My parents brought a kind dog to show there was nothing to be afraid of. They touched it on the back and talked to it in a friendly way. Seeing that, I felt relaxed. And gradually, I dared to get close to dogs.(9)谈老师对你影响From the first time I entered school, I was afriad of facing the whole world and the changes it would bring to me. But with my f irst teacher’s help, I learned to overcome this uneasy feeling and I started to enjoy life in school. I learned to be independent. She helped me achieve my goals by developing potential and making me believe in myself. I will never forget her.(10)结合你的实际生活,谈谈在关爱老人方面,你平时是怎样做的As for me, I always showed my respect and love to the old. When I was young, I brought my questions to them for help often, which made them busy but happy. I formed a habit to take a walk with them after dinner, talking about my study, ambitions and their rich experience.(11) My English teacher, Miss Wang always helps us out and is concerned about us. Thanks to his English teacher, he was doing well in English classes. He practiced listening and speaking English after class. What’s more, he kept an English diary, which helped him think in English.

One morning, a friend of mine set the breakfast table beside a huge window, which overlooked the Tred Avon River. Suddenly she leaned forward and cried out, “ There is a goose out there!”We saw the figure of a large Canada goose, very still, its wings folded tight to its sides and its feet frozen to the ice. Then in the sky, she saw a line of swans. They flew from the top of the sky downward and at last landed on the ice. My friend was on her feet, with one unbelieving hand against her mouth. As the swans surrounded the frozen goose, she feared that the poor goose might be pecked out by those great swan bills.Unexpectedly, those bills began to work on the ice. The long necks were lifted and curved down (弯下) again and again. They went on for a long time. At last, the goose was free and standing on the ice. And the swans stood nearby watching. Then, as if the goose was crying, “I cannot fly”, four of the swans came down around it. Their powerful bil ls chipped off the ice stuck in its feathers. Slowly, the goose spread its wings as far as they would go. Seeing the goose could freely move its wings, the swans flew slowly into the sky. This is a true story. Every time I think of it, I can’t help asking,“If so for birds, why not for man?”【写作内容】以约30个词概括短文的含义;以约120个词写一篇关于帮助别人或接受别人帮助的一次经历并包含以下要点:⑴叙述你在学习或生活上帮助别人或接受别人帮助的一次经历;⑵阐述你对这件事的感受与体会;【写作要求】作文中可使用自己的亲身经历或者虚构的故事,也可参照阅读材料的内容,但不得直接引用原文中的句子;文中不能出现真实的姓名和学校名称;The passage reminds us to help those who are in trouble and shows us helping others is a good virtue, which one should treasure.Life is not all roses. No one knows when he or she will be in trouble. The story above reminds me of my personal experience. There was a time when I performed badly in my maths. It seemed that no matter how hard I tried, I still failed. Upset and disappointed, I fell ill and had to be in hospital for a couple of days. Hearing what had happened to me, Lily, my monitor, came to hospital , helping me with my schoolwork. It was with her aid that I recovered soon and improved myself in maths rapidly. I felt really grateful for what she had done. From my experience above, I’ve learned that the sincere help between people is of great significance. Only with the care and help of others, can we get out of the difficulties in life and fly again like the goose in the story . A Little at a TimeCarl Walter was my piano teacher. During one of my lessons he asked how much practice I was doing. I said three or four hours a day.“Do you practice in long stretches, an hour at a time?”“I try to.”“Well, do not,” he exclaimed.” When you grow up, time won’t come in long stretches. Practice in minutes, whenever you can find them five or ten before school, after lunch, between chores. Spread the practice through the day, and piano-playing will become a part of your life.”Years later when I was teaching at Columbia, I wanted to write, but recitations, theme-reading, and meetings filled my days and evenings. For two years I got practically nothing down on paper, and my excuse was that I had no time. Then I recalled what my piano teacher said to me.During the next week I conducted an experiment. Whenever I had five minutes unoccupied, I sat down and wrote a hundred words or so. To my astonishment, at the end of the week I had written quite a lot. Later on I wrote novels by the same piecemeal method. Though my teaching schedule had become heavier than ever, every day there were idle moments which could be caught and put to use. I even took up piano-playing again, finding that the small interval of the day provided enough time for both writing and piano practice.【写作内容】有一些事情你很想做,可一直没时间。

1. One day, about ten years ago, while working at the cash register in the gift shop at my University Museum of Natural History, I saw an elderly couple come in with a little girl in a wheelchair. As I looked closer at this girl, I found that she was fixed on her chair. I then realized she had no arms or legs, just a head, a neck and upper body, dressed in a little white skirt. As the couple wheeled her up to me, I turned my head toward the girl. When I took the money from her grandparents, I looked back at the girl, who was giving me the most optimistic, largest smile I had ever seen. All of a sudden, her handicap was gone and all I saw was this beautiful girl, whose smile just melted me and almost instantly gave me a completely new sense of what life is all about. She took me from a poor, unhappy college student and brought me into her world; a world of smiles, love and warmth. I’m a successful business man now and whenever I think about the troubles of the world, I think about that little girl and the remarkable lesson about life that she taught me.2. During summer holidays, two classmates, Tom and Peter, were traveling in the desert. As they were walking, they had an argument, and Tom was so angry that he slapped Peter hard acrossthe face. Peter felt hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote down in the sand these words: “Today my best friend Tom slapped me in the face.”It was very hot, but they kept on walking and walking until they found an oasis (绿洲), where they decided to take a bath. Suddenly Peter got stuck in the mire (泥潭) and started drowning. Seeing that, Tom rushed over and saved him without any hesitation. After Peter got recovered from the drowning, he wrote with a knife on a stone: “Today my best friend Tom saved my life.”Fe eling curious, Tom, who had slapped and saved his best friend, asked Peter, “After I beat you, you wrote something in the sand but just now you put down what I had done on a stone. Why?”Peter replied: “When someone hurts us, we should take it down in the sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away. But when someone does something good for us, we must carve it in stone where no wind can ever erase it.”Hearing that, Tom was deeply moved and understood what Peter had said and what he had done.3. “The measure of a man’s real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out.”---Thomas MacaulayOne day, some thirty years ago, Mrs. O’Neill gave us a test to our class. When the papers were marked, she discovered 12 boys had made exactly the same mistakes throughout the test. There is nothing new about cheating in exams. Perhaps that was why Mrs. O’Neill didn’t even say a word about it. She only asked the twelve boys to remain after class. I was one of them.Mrs. O’Neill asked no questions, and she didn’t scold us either. Instead, she wrote on the blackboard the above words by Thomas Macaulay. She then ordered us to copy these words into our exercise-books one hundred times. It was the most important single lesson of my life. Thirty years later, the words still seem to me the best yardstick, because they give us a way to measure ourselves rather than others.I’m writing to you for some advice on my studies. As you know, football is a very popular sport in the world and I am attracted to it and I have fallen in deep love with it, which makes me feel so crazy. I have been spending lots of time doing many things related to it, like watching football matches, reading newspapers and magazines, and searching the Web for more information about football. As a result, it has certainly disturbed my normal study. Though I know to be a football fan is my hobby and my major objective is to learn more knowledge in school, I can’t concentrate on my lessons and gradually I am tired of them. I am still a senior two middle school student, and I’ll have my own business even when I grow up, so I am not likely to do a job in the field of football. But now I can’t stop myself from getting involved further with football. So I feel very depressed and want to know how to deal with the contradiction (矛盾) between my studies and hobbies.Sincerely yours,Li Ming5. A little boy is telling his Grandma how “everything" is going wrong. School, family problems, severe health problems, etc. Meanwhile, Grandma is baking a cake. She asks her grandson if he would like a cake, which, of course, he does.“Here, have some cooking oil. ”“Terrible!" says the boy.“How about a couple of raw eggs? ”“Terrible! Grandma! ”“Would you like some flour then? Or maybe baking soda? ”“Grandma, those are all awful! ”To which Grandma replies: “Yes, all those things see m bad by themselves, but when they are put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!”Life works the same way. Many times we wonder why it would let us go through such bad and difficult times. But life knows that when it puts these things all in its order, they always work for good! The trials(考验)of life serve a meaningful purpose in making us stronger. Do not lose heart if life is not easy for you right now, but encourage yourself and know you will be much stronger mentally and physically because of the trials of life.[写作内容]1.
