《会展英语》课程教学大纲
《会展英语》课程教学大纲学分:2学时: 32学时适用专业: 商务英语专业一、课程性质与任务本课程的性质为专业基础技能课程。
旨在使学生了解和掌握展览和会议业务等方面的知识和实务操作流程,包括展前、展中、展后的具体服务以及会议准备、会议预算、会议邀请和会议座位安排等现场工作等。
同时通过会展专业知识的学习,了解会展专业词汇和专业术语的英语特点,提高英语在会展领域的应用能力,从而为在国际会展行业工作和发展打好良好的专业和语言基本功。
前导课程:英语口语英语写作商务英语翻译后续课程: 外贸函电二、课程目标本课程除了讲授会展业基本内容及进行展览和会议业务各个环节的实践外,还包括训练学生在英语词汇、英语听、说、读、写、译方面的应用技能。
词汇方面:能够领会和掌握每一单元课文后“普通词汇”的发音、词性、中文意思,并能够在日常的口头和笔头交流中熟练运用。
掌握会展专业术语的用法是本课程的较高要求,学生应该通过各种词汇练习,提高和加深对每一单元的专业术语的理解,努力做到准确和得体。
口语方面:能够按照任务要求听懂对方的问题并运用所学的专业知识和专业词汇得体地表达工作内容,语音语调清晰,音调适中,发音标准;同时能恰当地运用一些交际策略或技巧较好地处理工作中遇到的实际问题。
阅读方面:能够读懂有关会展方面的文章和材料,掌握所读材料的主旨和大意,了解说明主旨和大意的事实和细节,能进行一定的判断和推论;既能理解句子的意义,也能理解上下文的逻辑关系。
翻译方面:能够翻译中英文的会展专业术语,做到拼写正确,大小写无误;能够运用课文中或学过的专业术语翻译文字材料,做到无明显的语法错误,逻辑严谨,用词得当。
写作方面:能够熟悉各种会展文案的格式和语言特点,根据任务要求用英语撰写出切题、完整、条理清楚、语法正确、语言通顺得当的文字材料。

Attendee:展览会的参加者,一般指展览会或会议的代表、参观商和观众,但不包括参展商.Attendee brochure:发送给参观商或观众,吸引他们赴展览会参观的参观商手册.Air freight:空运货物。
Air waybill/Air bill:(货物)空运单,在航程上可以涵盖货物从发运地到目的地间的国内、国际航空运输.Adjustable standard:是一种可以在其上随意安装展板的展架立杆。
Aisle:观众人行过道或通道.Aisle signs:悬挂于展厅内的、用于标注过道名称或编号的过道标识。
Assembly:展位搭建.Agent:代理。
Booth:展位(摊位),在美国,一个标准展位是10×10平方英尺。
Booth area:摊位面积.Booth number:摊位号。
Booth personnel:展台工作人员。
Booth sign:摊位楣板,用于标识参展商的公司名称、摊位号等. Booth size:展位尺寸。
Blueprint:展位设计施工图。
Backwall booth:靠墙展位,其后背墙紧靠展馆墙壁,常被称之为边缘展位。
Buying team:(公司)采购小组。
Bill of lading(B/L):提单。
Bonded warehouse:保税仓库。
Bone yard:运输代理公司在展览现场所拥有或租用的、用于存放展品空箱的仓库。
Consumer show:面向公众开放的展览会,一般需要买票进入,这种展览会又称公共展。
Convention:泛指大型会议、展览或者两者兼而有之。
Corner booth:位于两个或两个以上人行通道交汇处的展位,一些展览会组织对这样的展位收取额外费用。
Carnet:允许展品临时出口的海关批准文件。
Cartage:货物运输费,或指展品从港口到展馆的短距离运输。

Conference. Confer means to bring together. Two people can confer, but conferences often count large numbers of participants. Attendees at a conference have like careers or interests. A conference could be made up solely of chemical engineers or a conference on chemical genetic engineering might involve chemists, engineers, doctors, researchers. Conference is one of the most commonly used terms for meeting.

Seminar. Many college students attend seminars-small, highly focused classes that promote the exchange of ideas on a particular topic. Seminars can last one hour or several days. They might be offered as part of a larger meeting. The term suggests that people are there to draw information, not to give information. A seminar may be open to the public. For example, a seminar on "How to Invest in Real Estate" may be advertised in many cities. People attending ostensibly have nothing in common except the desire to learn about investing in real estate.
