1.···as soon as···一···就···

E.g. Remember to call me as soon as you get home.记住一到家就给我打电话。

2.book v. 预订

book in 预订旅馆房间，办理登记手续

book sb in 为某人预订酒店房间

E.g. I have booked a hotel room for you .我给你在一家酒店订了房间。

I have booked you in at the George Hotel.我为你在乔治酒店预订了房间。

3.welcome adj.受欢迎的 v./n. 欢迎

welcome to sp 欢迎来到某地

You are welcome!别客气！（不用谢）

E.g. Welcome to our school ！欢迎来到我们学校！

Everyone came to the door to welcome us!每个人都到门口来欢迎我们。

4.allow 允许，承认

allow sth 容许某事

allow sb to do sth 允许某人做某事

allow sb not to do sth 不允许某人做某事

allow 、permit、let

allow 语气较弱，有“听任，不加阻止，默许”之意；

E.g. The teacher allows too much noise in the classroom.那个老师听任学生大吵大闹。

permit语气较重，强调“认可，批准”

E.g.Schools don't permit smoking.学校内严禁吸烟。

let的语气最弱，意指“让”，口语较常用，无被动语态。

E.g. Let me carry your heavy bag.让我帮你提重包。

5.bark 吠，咆哮

bark at sb 朝某人咆哮

E.g. Dogs always bark at strangers.狗总是对着陌生人吠。

6.sound 听起来···，连系动词，其后跟名词或形容词做表语。

sound like 听起来像···

E.g. It sounds like a beautiful song,它听起来像一首美妙的歌。

Your idea sounds a good one.你的想法听起来很好。

7.let 让

let sb do sth 让某人做某事

let sb in 让某人进来

E.g. The teacher let us discuss the problem.老师让我们讨论那个问题。

The manager let me in. 那个经理让我进来。

8.describe v. 描述，记录，形容

describe sth to sb 向某人描述某事（物）

describe sb as 把某人说成是···

E.g. She described the accident to the police.她向警察描述了事故的经过。

He described himself as a doctor.他自称是医生。

9.lead 引导，指引，导致

lead to sth 导致···

lead to sp 通向···

Lead sb to sp 带领某人去某地

lead sb to do sth 影响（某人的行为或思想）

E.g.Her mistakes led to her failure.她的错误导致了她的失败。

The path leads to the village .这条小路通向那个村庄。

He led us to his home.他把我们带到他家。

He led me to believe he was really true。他使我相信他是对的。

lead 与 guide 的区别：lead 可以表示“领导，带路”，但它总含有领导者走在前面，而把被领导者控制在自己的权威之下，或使被领导者处于秩序井然的状态中的意思；guide 是通用词，可以用于为别人带路，指导别人的学习、品行修养，它的内涵是避免走弯路或者是遇到危险。

E.g.Our guide led us through caves.我们的向导带领我们穿过洞穴。

The pilot guided the plane to a safe landing.飞行员引导飞机安全着陆。

10.go off 突然作响，变质，爆炸

E.g.When the fire alarm went off,everyone moved to the playground.消防警铃突然作响，所有的人都逃到了操场上。

I didn't put the milk into the fridge so it went off.我没有把牛奶放到冰箱里，以致它变坏了。

The bomb went off when he started the car.当他发动汽车的时候，炸弹就爆炸了。词组：

the reception desk 前台 the location of the exit 安全出口的位置

in one's own words 用某人自己的话说 in other words 换句话说

word for word 逐字逐句地 keep one's word 守信

along the bottom of the door 沿着门地缝 lie on the floor 躺在地板上
