近几年随着建筑业的蓬勃发展，建环这一学科也在迅猛前进。
社会的需求和海外留学的浪潮更使得专业名称英译成为实现与国际专业对接和深入开展信息技术交流的一大问题。
在接触留学文件英译，或查阅国内学术期刊数据库的时候，经常发现建环这一学科名词的英译五花八门，有HVAC （heating，）， architectural environment and equipment engineering， building environment and equipment engineering 或者building environment and machinery engineering。
学科名称没有正确的统一命名，不仅会因为专业无法对接给留学专业申请带来困难，还会由于不统一的译名在译者、译员之间传播，在信息交流上造成误解，不利于学术传播。
而学科名词的对外翻译的口径不一也势必造成传播障碍，不利于该学科术语的发展。
本文立足现有建环学科名词英译混乱及其可能造成的问题，分析其成因，通过对国外大学相关专业的名词比对，综合运用语意集合比较法为建环专业提出英译建议。
一造成学科专业名词英译异同的原因1. 专业的更新换代赋予专业本身不同特色建筑环境与设备工程专业前身是“暖通老八校①的供热、供燃气、通风与空调工程专业。
1998年国家教育部颁布了新的普通高等学校本科专业目录，更名为“建筑环境与设备工程”，将专业覆盖面扩大到了人工环境、人居环境、工农环境等。

摘要
