新视野第一册unit2DeepConcern大学英语公开课讲稿
新视野第一册unit2DeepConcern大学英语公开课讲稿Good morning, distinguished judges. It’s my great honor to participate in the contest. I prepared a class for freshmen. Unit 2, Section A, Deep Concern. My class consists of three parts, but for the time limit, I could only show you some highlights. Here are my teaching objectives. Now I will begin my class.Dear students, you have been in college for almost a month. How do you feel the life on campus? Do you feel homesick? Do you often think of your parents? When you think of your parents, what will appear in your mind? Any unpleasant experiences with your parents? Some of you may say, my father is so dominant that he just wants to control me as if he were controlling a robot. Or, look at my mom; she is always nagging, nagging all the day. Why does she keep it saying again and again? You are nodding your heads, which means you may have the similar experiences, don’t you? I picked up a video clip. Please wat ch carefully, and have a discussion afterward. What caused the contradiction between the girl and her mother? Generation gap, a problem that most people can’t get rid of. Generation gap is a popular term used to describe wide differences in cultural norms between members of a younger generation and their elders. In what aspects do you think you are different from your parents? Values and beliefs, habits and life styles, interests and hobbies, even the tastes of food and cloth! We can find all the differences mentioned in our text Deep Concern. As to the word concern, do you know what’s its meaning? Whether used as a verb or a noun, concern has two general meanings. First, if something concerns you, it worries you. Andyou are concerned about it. Second, concern also refers to give attention to, as in the structure “concern oneself with”. For example, Sandy Finch concerns herself with rock music. And who is Sandy Finch? She is one of the characters of our text, a girl of 15. You have prepared the lesson before class, so you must know the text we are going to talk about is a short story. Therefore, we can divide the story into five parts according to the plot. Let’s first focus on part 1and part 3, in which Sandy has quarrels with her parents. In the beginning, Sandy wakes up in the music of a rock band from the radio. It is her favorite and she likes it very much. But her father, Mr. Finch doesn’t think so. As to him, the music is horrible and does not have rhythm. And then, in part 3, Sandy argues with her mother over tine daily routines. First, about cloth. Sandy chooses to wear her old green T-shirt and some jeans. She thinks it’s cool to dress up in this style. While her mother says, “it is disgusting!”Then they disagree with each other on how to have breakfast, whether to eat while standing, and how to brush teeth. At last, Mrs. Finch finds her daughter is wear eye-liners, and she is angry as she says, “You’re too young to wear that much makeup.” But Sandy takes it for granted for all the girls at her school would make up. So as we have seen, there are really quite a lot conflictions between Sandy and her parents. And then let’s focus on a useful structure of this part. Sandy sang along with the words as she lay listening to her favorite radio station. Pay att ention to the word “as”. How many different clauses, do you know, could be introduced by “as”? Two? Three? There are two different categories. When used as a relative pronoun, “as”can introduce an attributive clause. I’llgive you a sentence: Grammar is not a set of dead rules, as has been said above. Also, “as”can function as a subordinating conjunction, introducing adverbial clauses of time, reason, and concession. A sentence for time: one of the students is late for class today, so let take him for example. I saw him as he crept into the classroom. Another sentence for reason. This time it’s the monitor’s turn. Our monitor is a model student, as he gives a good example to the whole class. It’s quite easy to follow, isn’t it? But thing comes more complicated with regard to adverbial clause of concession. Look at the screen and read the sample sentence carefully, please. The clause is in special inverted order. To begin with is the element to emphases on, then comes “as”, and finally, subject and predicate. Be careful about this. And then, let’s focus on the second part. The transitional part describes Sandy’s morning preparation. So, this part is developed by sequenced order, according to the time when it happened. In order to make a set of actions easier to follow and understand, the author uses many time markers. A time marker may be a word, expression or sentence used to point out the time or sequence of a series of actions. Would you please point out the time markers in part 2? They are: then; after her shower; while standing; just then. Time marker is a very useful writing skill when you compose a paragraph by sequenced order or an instruction of procedure. We’ll do more exercises after class. We’ve been talking about the text for a while, now let’s move back to the topic of the unit —generation gap. The Finch family must spend the whole day distasteful because of the unpleasant morning. But generation gap could affect far beyond families, and in that case, it will lead to a grave consequence. Youare interested in sports. So I picked up two pieces of sports news of the week. Collins, the couch of Philly Sixers, has resigned for the poor performance of the team. News commentators believe, it is the generation gap to be blamed. On the other hand, Lang Ping d id a better job than Collins. The Chinese women’s volleyball team has just won a second place in the World Championships. As you can see, Lang Ping said there is no gap between her and the 90s generation. If we don’t take generation gap seriously, the consequence may become worse and worse. In order to solve the problem, we should first analyze what are the causes. Pictures on the screen may be helpful. Generally speaking, the causes are threefold. First, the two generations are living in different times. Second, parents are always busy working, and children learning. So they are short of communication. Finally, let’s take the Finch family into consideration, why there are quarrels? Perhaps Sandy misunderstood her parents concern for interference.Next question: How to overcome the problem of generation gap? Here are some tips: keep your minds open to your parents and never lie to them and so on. I can use one word to summarize: mutual understanding. We don’t need to eliminate the differences between our parents and us. What we need to do is only to understand each other. Only in this way could generation gap be bridged. Now let’s make a review on what we have learned today. Generation gap and how to bridge the gap. Useful word, structure, and writing skill. Here come your assignments: write a paragraph using sequenced order and time markers. Second, send our parents acard or letter to tell them you love them. And if you feel a little bit embarrassed, the mid-autumn day is coming, seize the chance and don’t be shy.。

Presentation of Teaching PlansContent: Book 4 Unit 8 Slavery Gave Me Nothing to Lose Section AMeans: Multimedia appliances and PPT filesGood morning, ladies and gentlemen. Today I feel really honored to introduce my teaching plan to you. Before dealing with any specific text, it is crucial for the teachers to be well aware of the goal of the course. Our course is College English, which is a compulsory basic course for the lower-grade non-English majors. It aims to cultivate a comprehensive ability and an individualized study pattern. In the two-year study they are trained to consolidate what they have learned in middle school and enhance their basic skills and translating. Meanwhile different approaches, for instance, discussions, debates and questioning, are employed to inspire their awareness of analyzing problems through inducing and deducing. While reading the text, it is far from enough for students to merely focus on the verbal level. Teachers and students are supposed to work together to discover the connotations underneath. Thus they may develop their consciousness of thinking about life and society. This might be helpful for the students to form a sense of social responsibility.Bearing the goal of the course in mind, let’s get down to the specific teaching content: Teaching material:New Horizon College English is a series of multi-dimensional and comprehensive teaching course. It provides us with abundant teaching resources both digital and non-digital, complete with CD ROMs, online courses, corpora, test papers and course wares. The choice of the text styles shows a great variety and the new words make their appearances step by step and reappear in a rather high frequency. Exercises following the texts mainly involve subjective judgment, which leaves vast space for students to use English flexibly. This willdefinitely help students improve their competence in language use.Today, I’d like to give a lecture about the text Slavery Gave ME Nothing to Lose, which is full of literary colors. Through analyzing the text, students can enhance their understanding of literary works.Teaching objectives:To ask students to understand a passage, not only by memorizing every word of it, but also by mastering the deep meanings of it.To study the writing method: how to write a composition from specific details to general statement which is a little different from what we have learned before. To educate students. To master the usage of difficult words and sentence patterns. To master some figures of speech.Teaching method:College students are more ready to participate in the learning process actively than to receive information passively.Communicative: Communicative language teaching differs from other methods as the objective in communicative language has situational interactive mode and limits the language content in its syntax structureTask-based: Learning is achieved by fulfilling one and another task concerning the theme of the class. The sense of achievement after each task is what prompts them to carry on. Teaching aids:Besides the traditional tools, the modern devices are used, both audio and video, so as to create a setting which can stimulate their senses and help internalized the information communicated by the teacher. Pictures and American map are used in it.Teaching procedure:Now here we are:how the class is actually carried out. The class consists of three steps: lead-in, structure analysis and in-depth study.Step 1. Lead-inThis is a period for students to warm up. The passage is about slavery, so I’d like to ask students to discuss some questions:What do you know about slavery? Do you know Lincoln? Do you know Martin Luther King? What do you think slavery brings to American black people? Then I will present some famous black people to students.Step 2. Structure analysisBefore analyzing structure, I will ask students to read the passage by themselves, then ask them some questions so that they can have a better understanding of the passage, and they can easily find out their weaknesses. The passage uses some writing skills, such as from specific details to general statement. To explain it elaborately and ask students to do it by their own.Step 3. In-depth studyIt contains the knowledge of expressions, word formation and new vocabulary, serving as a detailed study. To make students grasp the usage of them, it is advisable for teachers to give more examples. In fact, I will emphasize some important words and expressions, such as “register”、“in that” and so on.As to some difficult sentences, I will refer to some figures of speech, that is simile, metaphor and symbol which are used many times in the passage. If they cannot master them, they cannot understand the deep meanings of the author.SummaryTo summarize what we have learned in the passage, words ,phrases, writing skills and figures of speech, and then enhance the theme of the passage. At last, I ask the question again: what do you think of slavery?I hope students can learn some truth, for example, keep history in mind, create future.HomeworkTo do exercises after the passage. To write a short composition using the writing skills. To memorize “IHAVEADream"That is what I have planned for the course and this class. Suggestions and advices are welcome. Thank you again for your attention.。

What’s your purpose? Most of us began to learn English when we entered junior middle school; some even in primary school. We learned it because it’s a compulsory course. Now we begin to realize that it is useful and important to learn English for we have to communicate with foreign friends and the outside world.2 Do you enjoy learning English?3 How do you feel when you make mistakes in your English learning?Sorry, unhappy, uncomfortable, embarrassed, upset, awkward, lose face; or it was ok to make mistakes, or that making mistakes was natural in learning English4 What do you fear most in learning English?poor pronunciation, unnatural intonation, making mistakes, being unable to express yourself clearly, being laughed at by others, reciting new words5 Do you have any ideas about how to learn English well?reading English newspapers and magazines, reading English loudly every day, watching English language movies, listening to English songs, talking with native English speaker, doing more English exercises. In learning English, we should bear in mind that it is nothing but natural to make mistakes. If we are afraid of making mistakes or losing face, we will not go further in our learning process. Making mistakes can help us gain more information about the world and how language is used to describe it. If we can identify the mistakes by ourselves or they are corrected by others, we can learn in a more effective way. In this sense, if we understand what making mistakes means to us and enjoy losing our faces in learning language, we can all become successful language learners.I also remember a proverb: No mistakes, no progress. – 速成 – 浮躁
• 结论 – 注重课本本身的内容 – 该听则听,该读则读,该说则说 – 尽可能参与到课堂的活动中来
三、理论基础
输入假设The Input Hypothesis

The Output Hypothesis
– Swain (1993) 认为语言输出过程会加强学习者对语 言问题的明确注意,这注意会进一步刺激他们的认 知机制,能使他们巩固已学知识,发现未解的内容 和问题,然后激发学习者会运用多种策略探索来提 高其对语言的运用能力。

大学新视野英语课程说课稿
大学新视野英语课程说课稿大学新视野英语课程说课稿I’m XX from XXX University. Today my presentation of teaching design is Unit 1 in New Horizon English Course The Second Book.1. Analysis of the Teaching MaterialNew Horizon English Course (Reading and Writing) is a book designed for English course for Vocational college students in our country. This book, which focuses on students’ ability to express and practical skills, has a new teaching concept and content. And it also follows the principles of “giving priority to practice, taking enough to use”. Therefore, in order to develop students’ ability of using English, teachers should be creative and arouse students’ enthusiasm to study when they designed the teaching activities. This lesson is section A of Unit 1 in the second book of New Horizon English Course(Reading and Writing). This unit mainly talks about symbols of culture. Based on this theme, this unit can be divided into section A, section B and section C, and every part has its ownfocus. The passage in section A is about the first McDonald’s restaurant which is closely related to American culture. Through studying this passage, students will acquire some basic understanding about the history an d current state of the first McDonald’s restaurant.2. Analysis of StudentsAfter learning experience in last semester, students’ English level has been improved. They can retell the text by words and expressions they have learnt. Now they can communicate with others using simple sentences on the topic they are familiar with, but they need to pay attention to the accuracy and fluency. When listening, they can understand simple conversation and statement, but they can’t retell accurately what they hear. They can do simple English-Chinese translation. As of pronunciation, they still have pronunciation problems to be corrected.3. Teaching AimsAccording to the teaching aims in Basic Requirements for College English and understanding of the text, I set two teaching objects as follows:(1)Knowledge: master the new words, phrases, sentences and grammars; understand the text; enlarge the vocabulary; strengthen the basic knowledge of the language(2)Ability: develop students’ ability to listen, speak and read, in order to make them use these practical skills4. Focuses and DifficultiesFocus of this text is to master the usage of words and phrases and use them.Difficult point of this text is to master expression about expressing their own opinions. Students can express their own ideas about the topics they are familiar with by using words and phrases in this text.5. Teaching MethodsSituational Teaching Approach: Language can be meaningful in certain context. Therefore, I create several contexts through multi-media courseware in order to make students learn language in real language environment. This will help the student learn English in practice.Analysis and explanation: After students read the passage, the teacher make explanation, and give some directions, extension in meaning, comments and statements.Task-drive approach: this way makes students learn useful knowledge by accomplishing some tasks, and stimulate their interests to study.6. Teaching Process(1) Leading-ina. Free talk: make students do free talk on the basis of two questions on Page 2 of the textbook. The teacher asks several students: “McDonald’s and KFC, which do you like better? And why?” This procedure lets the students use what they have learnt in actual dialogue. At the same time, this can lead to the new content we are going to learn. So this step can be taken as a stone killing two birds.b. Background information: in this text, it refers to three persons: Ray Kroc and McDonald’s. The three persons are relat ed to the establishment of McDonald’s and why McDonald’s wants to destroy the first McDonald’s restaurant. Therefore, before we begin totalk about the text, the teacher will introduce Ray Kroc and McDonald’s and show their pictures to students through multimedia courseware.(2) Giving a lecturea. Teachers will ask some questions for warming up. On one hand, we can know how students understand the text; on the other, we can lead the students in quickly.Warming up questions:①Who founded McDonald’s?②Why was the restaurant called MaDonald’s?③Different opinions held by the Downey residents and McDonald’s mangersb. Ask students to divide the text in to three parts, and let them summarize the main idea of each part: Para. 1(Introduction) Presenting two opposing attitudes towards the first McDonald’s restaurant: saving it, or tearing it downPara. 2-11(body): Reasons for saving it:(1)It is a cultural symbol.(2)It gives people good memories.(3)McDonald’s is trying to change the histor y.Reasons for tearing it down:(1)It was damaged/beyond repair.(2)It is losing money at that location.Para. 12(Conclusion): Everyone hopes that the two opposing parties will find peace.将以上内容用多媒体呈现给学生。
