OneA Story(Narrate an experience that impressed you most in your life. It might be something that happened to you or to the others. Your composition should include the following points: when and where the story took place; what happened)The college entrance examination had hardly come to an end, when the majority of my classmates celebrated their liberation, except me. With a little depression, I flew to Chengdu and prepared for the independent recruitment of students test of the Southwest University of Finance and Economy the next day after June 8th.As for students who major in mathematics competition in one of the three years, you cannot imagine the importance of the independent recruitment in their minds. Fortunately but unfortunately, I was one of members of them. Then came June 13rd when I would join in the written exam and an interview one by one. Because of passing the written exam smoothly, I acquired interview qualification.Faced with two interviewers and a huge sense of panic, our group of six students must finish three tasks in limited time. First, every one of us was appointed to be the minister of human resources and was asked to commence salary for A, B, C, D, E and F who had advantages and disadvantages at the same time. Second, we had a discussion in which our opinions should reach an agreement. Finally, a speech named "salary" would be prepared and presented in turn.I cannot pass the interview at last, or I will not go to the Zhengzhou University and write this article. Surely, success will give us a lot, but in my view, failure gives us more. Not only did the interview make me more confident, calm and flexible in some way, but it did be a true experience where I learnt how to grow up and how to be a real man--Life is a journey, most of which is full of blocks and difficulties. What we can choose is how to face and gain from them.TwoIt Pays to Have a Good Name (Please write a three or four-paragraph essay with the help of the three passages.)When Shakespeare said" that which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet", he meant" anyone can not be easily changed by his or hername. "But, if that is really true, why do so many Chinese people add fire otherwise water in their children's names?Maybe they not only hope their children can make up for their disadvantages, but also hope their name will be the motivation which always pushes them to improve themselves. However, we say "hope" " maybe" and" will be", which means uncertainty. As far as I am concerned, the uncertainty exists in one's attitude in which he looks on himself. For instance, if one cares much about his name, his success or failure will be influenced by his name. But if he cares little, whatever willbe, will be. So, in my opinion, whether a name will influence a man or not depends on one's attitude. But attitude isn't inherent but a kind of quality which is based on various factors, including one's name. Do you remember the first day when you come to class, how do you remember your first classmate? No matter what you say, but, for most people, me included, I think it's one' s special name that makes me keep him in my mind forever. As for the one who is remembered at first, he will integrate into the collectivity as soon as possible, which surely influences a man's character. What's more, many people will be self-abased when hearing their vulgar names, especially in public. Another will be under much pressure when hearing their superior names. And there will also be someone who can make it, owing to his stimulative name. For example, my classmate named ChaoYue was always encouraged by his name like that "you can do it as yourname!"Every time he joined in an activity, the slogan would motivate him to go beyond himself. So maybe you still say you're determined, and you can never be influenced by an external form. But name exists in everywhere, which has got it to go deep into our internal thoughts and direct our life. Therefore, it pays to have a good name. ThreeWhy a Happy Childhood Is Important to People(I think childhood is to everyone a lost land. Explain this quotation first and then make an analysis on it with examples.) It is universally acknowledged that the time which has flown won't come back forever. It is the same with the childhood. In our minds, it's possible that we can recall something memorable that impressed us effectively in the course of our childhood, but what can't be recalled any more is the true feeling when we are impoverished in reasons. To name merely a few, I hold the view that I was kind of imaginative when I was a little girl. At that time, the Seven Fairies Full of Joy was consequently pervasive that everyone, whether old otherwise young, stared at the screens, even just in order to wait for an advertisement about it, me included.I remembered that there were also another three girls who didn't go back home at lunch time. And we got rid of the siesta lest we could touch our imagination in forms of our own show which we named "Ice and Fire" .A girl dressed up as ice, and another made up as fire, which represented the embodiment of ice and fire in nature. What's more, they both had a pet who had magic they didn't get and that was sent by God to do them a favor to fetch their Numen.Every noon, you could see four girls carrying many desks and chairs, running round from floor one to four four. Sometimes, you even could hear they screamed, "fight with the powerful enemies!" Subsequently you looked around, and whisperedto yourself" where are the powerful enemies? "They hid in nowhere but everywhere exactly in their hearts!Until today, when I recall the exciting scene I remained for myself, I can't help laughing loudly. How bored I was at that time just as a mentally disabled kid!Maybe from a growing-up perspective, I have started to pour attention into other's feelings and other's views on me. Nevertheless as I was a little girl, I just did what I wanted to do directed by my hearts. And it was from succeeding on that my personality got to shape. Many times over, I have tried to be a strong man who can get over all difficulties like Ice and Fire. At present, I never easily give in to anyone otherwise anything without hesitation. As you can see, it isn't the genuine material but the impressive memory that really matters. And what is more important exists in that we gain our unique character forever.FourCultural Globalization(On Cultural Globalization—search online for information of cultural globalization and write a composition to answer the following questions: 1. what is cultural globalization? 2. the advantages and disadvantages of cultural globalization? 3. your opinions.)In the academic area, there are two points which have been acknowledged by the public about cultural globalization. One points out that cultural globalization is an erroneous concept, which means there is not cultural globalization at all. Another points out that cultural globalization universally exists in our present society. But in my view, as the cultural globalization is a process that all kinds of cultures blend into each other at the same time, cultural globalization cannot be defined as astate. Consequently, cultural globalization is a course in which all the countries' culture enters other countries'.From a point of view, cultural globalization brings in exotic items not barely spiritually but also materially. Obviously, foreign thoughts are therefore advanced that we can express our emotions more smoothly. To name barely a few, it is the entering of Valentine's Day that prompts Chinese have a deeper understanding of romance. And it is also the Thanksgiving Day that gives everyone the courage and chance to gratitude those who has done us a favor. But from the other point of view, cultural globalization is a kind of cultural invasion. Now that a country's culture depends on its economy, and every country has the privilege to maintain its own interests, the appearance of cultural globalization possesses legitimate triggers, the most important one of which is to promote the country's position in theworld. Therefore from this perspective, any reasonable excuse for cultural globalization is not reasonable at all. At least, in the aspect of a country's interests, there is not a country that can put the public interests ahead of its own interests. As far as I am concerned, it's the right time that we have resisted in the adventitious culture in some way. On the one hand, we're supposed to get a lessonfrom the seclusion of our country in Qing dynasty. Since the contemporary world provides a developmental opportunity for us, it's our duty to catch and take advantage of the world situation. But currently, mounting number of adolescents excessively accept thoughts and styles from western countries lest exotic culture extends as far as all over our country even replace our traditional culture. To name merely a few, teenagers are prone to know more about Valentine's Day instead of the Chinese festival. In a word, as one of the hosts of a developing country, at the same time that our country enters the entire world, we also require safeguarding our traditional culture.FiveBe a perfect individualist(Individualism or Collectivism—Search online for more information of individualism and collectivism and take a stand on one of them, then support your stand with supporting details and draw a conclusion at last.) From the appearance of humankind being, everyone lives in a collectivistic society although he otherwise she is likely to be a behalf of individualists. Just think about that it's through the Upper Cave Man's joint efforts that a mounting number of tools are created, and the development of humanity being becomes faster and faster. Accordingly this time, you are likely to define the collectivity as the waves which promote our society to a higher level. But when we stand on the realism of the the development of humanity being, can you imagine a tribe in which everyone does what they have to do by themselves but there are no one who can stand out and unify all the notions?Of course not. Therefore, when society develops to a certain stage, there should be a man standing out to lead the entire collectivity and make all the thoughts converge to a point. Subsequently comes out the individualism. And in the process cooperation in collectivity, there will be a mounting number of individuals who recognise the low efficiency when working with others, and they are prone to do what they like best otherwise what makes them get the biggest interests. And from thereafter on, individualism which becomes the other shape of the lifestyle formally gets rid of the collectivism. When we're in the kindergarten, instructors always teach us not to fall behind from other kids. And when we become a true man, we're always asked to take questions in to account on others' sides otherwise from other parts. But do you remember the Great Leap Forward period when everyone set a flag saying collectivism in their hearts but no one has the positivity to do all the labour for the collectivity? So as you can see, the long-term collectivism always leads the participants to think of why they do so much work for a collectivity and what the meanings are for themselves, which suggests the unescapable consequence of collectivism is the appearance of individualism. From the other aspect, when it comes to the question raised by Qian Xuesen, most specialists will easily come to the education area. But have you tried giving the solution from individualism and collectivism? There is no denying that the individualists have the greater possibility to succeed as they have the independent time to arrange their own schedule, consequently there are more scientists in the USA than in China, as China has a long history of collectivism. Many Chinese individuals set a clear boundary between individualism and collectivism, which means that in their minds individualists won't contribute for the collectivity. But in the beginning, individualists do everything for themselves, such as individual honor which represents the superior ability one may have. Nevertheless, the honor which he has received hooks on to the collectivity otherwise will serve for the collectivity sooner otherwise later. Let's look at the extreme example in the following. An independent researcher made an achievement which seemed to belong to himself, but the accepting of the achievement needed the extensive participation of the public. And on condition that the achievement was acknowledged by the society, it would be a universal regulation which can be used by later generations. Isn't that a kind of contribution to our society?Until succeeding, he wasn't a typical behalf of individualists but of collectivists. Therefore when you want to make contributions for collectivity instead of being considered selfish, you're supposed to make yourself a perfect individualist and go out of your way to be the hero in your own heart, subsequently one day when you blend in a collectivity, you'll be a successful collectivist naturally.SixWhether Should Western Festivals Be Celebrated in China? (Read reading 2 in Unit 8 and listen to Culture Integration and write a composition to illustrate your opinion.) As Christmas is approaching, we can see a variety of decorations including Christmas trees wherever we go, especially in the large supermarket, which seemingly represents popularity and a kind of fashion. It emerges to be an optimal chance to escape from pressure when we face up to an ocean of unfinished work every second. Nevertheless, don't you know that it's your own relaxation that results in cultural invasion? But should anything in western festivals be blocked out of our door?In my view, as a developing country, it's high time that we seized the challenge to attract the excellent elements bringing more advantages instead of disadvantages. To name merely a few, when it comes to Valentine's Day, we are likely to think of romance and happiness which we can also experience in our daily life. What I mean is that the significance to celebrate Valentine's Day is too little to talk about, and it's better to oppose to it rather than do nothing. Nevertheless, like Mother's Day, we've regarded it as our duty to respect our mother, which has beenacknowledged as a kind of social virtue. As the world becomes smaller and smaller, Mother's Day must be prevalent to all over the world some day.Mother's Day does require being celebrated, and so do our traditional native festivals. We can enjoy the joy and lessons brought by western festivals, from which we never struggle to blend into a culture. Many youngsters may also not experience the tradition involved in Chinese festivals, which exactly shows the perniciousness of cultural invasion. We can accept the western festivals but merely the excellent parts; and we can accept the excellent parts but merely in the precondition of primarily celebrating our traditional native festivals. All in all, the western festivals can be celebrated when limited in certain preconditions.。

大学英语2作文u3

大学英语2作文u3

大学英语2作文u3As I sit in the bustling university library, surrounded by the hum of students typing away on their laptops and the occasional whispered conversation, I can't help but ponder the profound impact technology has had on our educational landscape. The third unit of my University English II course has shed light on various facets of this transformation, and I find myself reflecting on how these changes have personally influenced my college experience.Gone are the days when stacks of heavy textbooks and handwritten notes were the cornerstone of learning. Today, a simple search query on a digital device can yield a wealth of information, making research not only more efficient but also more accessible. The advent of online databases and e-books has revolutionized the way we consume knowledge, allowing students like me to delve into topics with a few clicks, rather than sifting through physical volumes. Moreover, the integration of technology in the classroom has taken the form of interactive presentations, digital whiteboards, and collaborative software that facilitate group work. This shift has not only made learning more engaging but also more collaborative. The ability to share ideas and work in real-time with classmates, regardless of our physical location, has been a game-changer in my academic journey. However, this technological revolution has not beenwithout its challenges. The constant connectivity can be a double-edged sword, as it blurs the line between work and leisure, often leading to information overload and digital distractions. The University English II course has taught me the importance of maintaining a balance, using technology as a tool for learning rather than letting it dictate my focus.Furthermore, the digital divide remains a pressing issue, with not all students having equal access to the latest technological advancements. This disparity can lead to an uneven educational experience, where those with greater resources have a significant advantage. It is crucial for educational institutions to address this gap and ensure that technology serves as an equalizer rather than a divider. In conclusion, the third unit of my University English II course has been an eye-opener to the myriad ways technology has reshaped college education. While it has brought about unprecedented convenience and interconnectedness, it also presents challenges that need to be navigated carefully. As I continue my academic pursuit, I am committed to leveraging technology to its fullest potential while remaining mindful of its limitations and the need for a balanced approach to learning.。

This section should refute the counterargument with compelling evidence, logical reasoning, and a clear explanation of why the writer's perspective remains the stronger or more convincing argument. The conclusion of the essay serves as the final opportunity to leave a lasting impression on the reader. It should revisit the thesis statement, summarize the key points made throughout the essay, and provide a thoughtful synthesis of the argument. The conclusion may also include a call to action, a prediction, or a broader implication of the essay's main idea, encouraging the reader to further reflect on the topic. The versatile template for College English 3 essays allows students to approach a wide range of writing prompts with a structured and organized approach. 大英3背诵部分第二单元2 None of us kids did. Mom and Dad refused to let us. They couldn’t afford expensive presents, and they didn’t want us to think we weren’t as good as other kids who, on Christmas morning, found all sorts of fancy toys under the tree that were supposedly left by Santa Claus. So they told us all about how other kids were deceived by their parents, how the toys the grown-ups claimed were made by little elves wearing bell caps in their workshop at the North Pole actually had labels on them saying MADE IN JAPAN.3 “Try not to look down on those other children,”Mom said. “It’s not their fault that they’ve been brainwashed into believing silly myths.”2 我们家的孩子没人相信,因为爸爸妈妈不让我们相信。

3 summaryUNIT 11.1 catching crabsIn the fall of our final year, our mood changed。

Peer group pressure to work hard was strong. Meanwhile, the most important thing for us was what we would do next after graduation. My father wanted me to go to law school, but I wanted to travel,as well as to be a writer。

So I have to brace myself for some resistance to his idea,。

However,he supported but he made me think about it by watching the crabs. The cage was full of crabs. One of them was trying to escape, but each time it reached the top the other crabs pulled it back.In the end it gave up escaping and started to prevent other crabs from escaping.By watching crabs,my father told me not to be pulled back by others, and to get to know myself better.1.2We are all dyingLife is short。

We never quite know when we become coffin dwellers or trampled ash in the rose garden of some local ceremony。

U1 A1 Catching CrabsWith the terminal of school life coming, the author’s classmates had nothing to do but get their life mapped out. Their ideas about the future vary from person to person. Ambitious as some students were, the majority of them tended to choose a comfortable job and became an ordinary person. Instead of the high flyers with good grades, it was always the quieter, less impressive students who had the next stages of their life mapped out.The author was longing to travel and become a writer. His father who was a lawyer didn’t object him but brought him to a lake to chat with him, which surprised him very much.In that morning, his father inspired him through the crabs which could be bothered to escape. He also asked him to figure out what he really want and was really significative to him. And only when he get the answer would he be happy.U1 A2 We are all dyingIn this article, the author brings us some good news and some bad news. The bad news, as the author double-and triple-checked out, is that we are all dying. We are all going to be either coffin dwellers or trampled ash in the rose garden of some local cemetery. The good news is that knowing that we are all budding, crypt-kickers takes away all the uncertainty of life. All that matters is the middle bit and that’s down to us.It’s typical that we all have the great things we’re going to do with our life “when the time is right”. The novel that we want to write, the trip to the Grand Canyon we’ve always planned to take, the West End play we want to direct. It’s essential that we should do them now on account of that the time is never quite right. We can’t count on tomorrow because tomorrow is just another version of now. When we go to a buffet, they give us a bowl the size of a saucer, life is like that bowl. We can cram as much into that tiny bowl as we can carry but we only have one shot at it. So let’s make the best of our short stay.We all have the same amount of minutes. It’s just what we do with our time, how we invest it, that determines where our lives may lead. We are all dying and our allotted time is finite, don’t be something that you patently do not want to be. And the right time never arrives, why the hell aren’t we doing all the things we want to do now?U2 A1 SupermanThe year the war began, the author was in the fifth grade at a Grammar School in Winthrop. He can still recall the changing color of those days although 13 years passed. The author’s home was on the bay side of town, opposite to an airport.. He was always fascinated by the beauteous sceneries out of the window. He always dreamed of flying, dreamed about the Superman. He shared his love for the sheer poetry offlight with his fellow named David. The author, David and Sheldon always played the Superman games together. They had a very good time in campus. In addition, the author found his uncle Frank bore an extraordinary resemblance to Superman incognito.13 years lapsed, he still remember all that details. He did have a dreamlike childhood.U2 A2 Cultural childhoodsAs the famous sentence goes:”The past is a foreign country: They do things differently there.”There are vast differences between contemporary and historical childhoods. Today, children have few responsibilities, their lives are characterized by play not work, school not paid labour, family rather than public life. Today, a four year old who can tie his or her shoes is impressive, however, in colonial times, four-year-old girls can contribute to the family economy.Childhood is a “social construction”. While all societies acknowledge that children are different from adults, how they are different and what expectations are placed on them, change according to the society in which they live. For instance, the Inuit of Canadian Artic treat their children with a great deal of tolerance leniency. In contrast, children on the Pacific island of Tonga are regularly beaten by their parents and older siblings on account of that they are seen as being closer to mad people than adults. The Beng, a small ethnic group in West Africa, believe in a spirit world where children live before they are born. And they may decide to return there if they are not properly looked after. So parents treat young children carefully. In the UK, and the Western world in general, people view children as incompetent and dependent. While the Yanamamo girls are expected to help their mothers from a young age.In general, though people take different attitudes on children, all societies recognize that children are different to adults and have particular qualities and needs. And we should not interfere in or criticize people whose lives and understandings of the world are different to ours.U3 A1 How we listenWhen it comes to listening to music, I’d like to say we all listen to music on three planes. The first plane, which is also the simplest way of music listening is to listen for the sheer pleasure of the musical sound without thinking, without considering it in any way. For example, one may go a concert in order to lose himself. The second plane is what the author called expressive one. Music always express itself through its melodies, rhythms, harmonies and tone colors. However, It’s typical that people read different meanings into music. The last plane is sheerly musical plane. We do need to admire absolute music onaccount of that it’s of great significance. People usually find a psychedelic world through listening to absolute music. To make a summary, we divide music listening into three planes. We simultaneously and without thinking listen on all three planes.U3 A2 The mystery of Girl with a Pearl EarringThe painting Girl with a Peal Earring, which is one of the greatest works of Johannes, Vermeer poses some fascinating questions. Who is the young woman? What is she thinking as she stare out at us etc.Firstly, very little is known about Vermeer. One important information we know is that he married a Catholic girl, who insisted that he convert to Catholicism. It remains a mystery why the girl was painted like this-a portrait tend to sell better at that time. In addition, this painting has been the theme of a novel which imagined her as a poor, but hardworking maid who attracted the painter despite their different backgrounds and class. Then this painting was made in a film. Both the novel and the film attempted to answer some of the mysteries. This wonderful work has been described as the Mona Lisa of the north cause it appears to be a portrait of a girl with an mysterious smile.U4 A1 Work in corporate AmericaCompared with jobs in the past, jobs today are quite different.Firstly, jobs today are absolutely incomprehensible to children. In the past, when questioned “What’s your job?” a father may reply to his children” I fix steam engines”But today he may answer” I sell space” And it’s typical that even grown people only know about there own jobs, they know little about others’ jobs.Secondly, today people’s work is to make junk. How to say that? People use machines to process products. Once the products break down, they are likely to be disgored and become junk. So it is with people in glass buildings who are coping with piles of paper. Some people sign in the paper, some people deliver the paper, some people talk about the paper but one day the paper will have to become useless junk. So we say people’s work is something that has to do with making junk. Thus, jobs today are no longer like the past.U4 A2 Our supposedly exciting times are really rather dullWe live in a world of unprecedented, dazzling change. However, our supposedly exciting times are really dull. We do not, in fact, live in very interesting times at all. For example, Tomas Friedman regard globalization as a new “international system”. However, in a historical context, the word is almost entirely meaningless. Roman Empire is a multicultural country. Romans even trade with foreign countries, though we tend to boost of our modernity. There aren’t many great changes in the last few decades. We do not live in an age of great technological innovation. As a matter offact, most of the technologies we use everyday-toasters and kettles, planes and trains and automobiles etc-were invented decades ago. The pace of change looks even slower when we compare it with typical expectations only a few decades ago. People in the 1960s imagined that human would be catching. Pan-Am flights to space stations, talking to sentient computers, and living on Moon.In a word, although the baby-boom generation like to brag that they have experienced greater change than any other.U5 A1 Dinner at Joanne’sJoanne’s is very famous in America, neither because of its food, which had often been maligned, nor because of its jazz orchestra, which had a guest slot for a well-known movie director, but because of the stellar quality of its sophisticated guests. Josh Lester, who is a black man with highly competent, fancy degree and work experience, was going to Joanne’s to date with a senator named Jo Rogers on one snowy Christmas Eve. Josh Lester got to Joanne’s before Rogers. He asked the waiter for his reserved sets but was looked down upon.. He finally was leaded to a table close to a bathroom. And what is more annoying is that the head waiter didn’t cope with Josh’s request on account of that there are many other guests who had higher status. However, when his date, the well-known senator reached and talked with Josh, things completely changed. People in Joanne’s focused on them. One person even offered to pay their bill but was refused by Rogers. After knowing that Josh was going to be the new deputy campaign manager of Rogers, and may become the Chief of Staff, the lead waiter showed his flattery to Rogers and Josh, and showed his eager that they could be there again. But Rogers said they won’t be there any more.U5 A2 I, we, theyA Swedish corporation was approached by a compatriot. An engineer, whom the author called Johannesson was sent to Riyadh where he was introduced to a small Saudi engineering firm on behalf of the corporation. After 6 meetings over a period of two years, the Saudi firm at last made a contract with Johannesson’s company and the intermediary was not needed on account of that, he was promoted. Soon another engineer took the place of Johannesson. However, a few weeks later, the Saudi firm threatened to conceal the contract because of a minor conflict only if Johannesson become the representative of his corporation again. This story reflected the different concepts of the role of personal relationships in business of the Swedes and the Saudis. For the Swedes, business is done with a company; for the Saudis ,with a person whom one has learned to know and trust. Generally speaking, there are two kinds of societies. The author called the societies in which the interest of the group previous over the interests of the individual collectivist, which refers to the power of the group. In these societies, between the person and the in-group a dependence relationship develops which is both practical and psychological. In addition, a minority of people live in societies in which the interests of the individual prevail over the interests of the group. These societies was called individualist. In these societies, children are expected to leave the parental home as soon as this has been achieved. And after having left home, children tend to reduce the relationships with their parents. In this type of society, a healthy person won’t depend on a group practically or psychologically.U6 A1 Last man down: the fireman’s story11 September 2001 9:59AM. Pitch with about two dozen people-including his 7 companies of firefighters were on the 35th floor of the north tower of the world Trade Center. They were in various stages of exhaustion. They had been at a hard thing for almost an hour. They were all confused. Abruptly, with a noise starting, the building began to tremble. They all froze, having no idea what they should do. At that moment, Pitch’s thoughts were all over the place. Every possible worst-case scenario, the rumble struck him still with fear, the sheer volume of it, like a thousand runaway trains speeding towards him.It seemed that there should be no time to think. But Pitch did think about his official carrier, his colleagues, the bagels which he left on the kitchen counter and he thought it must be the biggest fire in both his and his colleagues’ lives. All these thoughts were landing in his brain in a kind of flashpoint. This story comes from Pitch’s book “Last Man Down” which gives the reader an idea of the nightmare and the chaotic confusion of one of the darkest days in the history of America. On 9:59, the north tower collapsed, at that moment, Pitch gave the order to evacuate, and on the 12 floor they found 50 people trapped. They helped them downstairs but the tower fell when they reached the 7th floor. Though he was buried, he come round four hours later, leading his men to safety.U6 A2 Eleanor Roosevelt: First Lady of the WorldAs a young woman, Roosevelt did volunteer work for organizations like the Red Cross and the Junior League of NY. She was a high society lady with a big heart. Born In a society dominated by men, she fighted for the power of the women. 全新版大学生英语综合教程三二单元作文全文共6篇示例,供读者参考篇1My Awesome Summer Vacation!Summer vacation was so much fun! I got to do all my favorite things and had the best time ever. I want to tell you all about the awesome adventures I had over the summer.First, my family went on a really cool trip. We took a big plane allllll the way to Florida! I had never been on a plane before, so I was a little nervous. But it was actually really neat. We got to sit wayyyy up in the sky and look down at all the tiny houses and cars and buildings below. The plane went super fast too, whooshing through the clouds. I played games on the TV screen on the back of the seat in front of me the whole flight. When we finally got to Florida, we stayed at this giant hotel right on the beach. It had pools everywhere - a huge main pool, a little kiddie pool for babies, a pool with a waterslide, and even a lazy river pool! I spent almost every day swimming and splashing around. The beach was beautiful too, with bright blue water andsoft golden sand. My brother and I had competitions to see who could build the biggest sandcastle. But the best part of the whole trip was going to Walt Disney World I had been looking forward to it for months and months. We got to go on allllll the rides - the haunted mansion, space mountain, splash mountain, and more. My favorite was probably the new Frozen roller coaster though. We also met lots of the Disney characters like Mickey, Elsa, Buzz Lightyear, and Chewbacca. They gave us hugs and signed our autograph books. We watched the parade and fireworks shows too, which were soooooo magical. I never wanted to leave Disney! When we got back home from our trip, I still had over a month of summer left. I spent lots of time playing outside with my neighborhood friends. We had epic games of freeze tag, went on bike rides, and had water balloon fights when it got really hot out. We also went to the community pool almost every day to go swimming.Near the end of the summer, my parents signed me up for a week of summer camp. At first I was a little sad because I didn't want summer to end. But camp ended up being a blast! We did all sorts of fun activities like canoeing, archery, rock climbing, making friendship bracelets and lanyards, and more. I made abunch of new friends too. We had a massive sleepover on the last night, staying up late telling stories and jokes. It was so much fun that I can't wait to go back next year!Right before school started again, my family took one final trip to the local amusement park for one last summer hurrah. We went on all the thrilling roller coasters and rides, played games and won prizes on the midway, and got lots of fun snacks like cotton candy, funnel cakes, and ice cream. It was the perfect way to end an amazing summer!I had such an incredible few months off from school. I got to experience so many exciting adventures, from the airplane ride to Disney to summer camp and beyond. Summer vacation was packed with fun, laughter, and making wonderful memories with my family and friends. Although I do love school, I was kind of sad to see summer come to an end. I can't wait for next summer so I can have another few months of nonstop excitement and no school or homework!篇2The New Big Book for College Students - Unit Three Point TwoHi friends! Today I'm gonna tell you all about Unit 3.2 from the really big book my older brother uses for his English class at university. It's a super important unit because it teaches you how to write awesome essays and compositions. Get ready, 'cause this is gonna be fun!The unit starts by explaining the different types of essays you can write. There are opinion essays where you get to say what you think about something. Like if they asked "What's your favorite flavor of ice cream?" you could write all about how chocolate is the best. Then there are persuasive essays where you have to convince someone about your idea. For that ice cream question, you'd write reasons why chocolate is better than vanilla or strawberry. But my favorite type of essay is the narrative essay! That's where you get to tell a story, like what happened on your summer vacation or that time your dog ate your homework. The book says narratives need to have characters, a setting, a plot with a beginning/middle/end, and good descriptions to paint a picture in the reader's mind. Fun, right?Next, the book talks about the five-paragraph essay structure. That means you have one paragraph for the introduction where you explain the main idea. Then you havethree body paragraphs where you give examples and details to support that idea. Finally, you wrap it all up in the conclusion paragraph by restating your main point. Bam - perfect essay! After that, there's a section on how to writeattention-grabbing introductions. You can ask athought-provoking question, give a shocking fact or statistic, use a relevant quote, describe an interesting scene, or tell a quick anecdote. Like if I was writing about summer vacation, I could start with "Splashing into the cool water, I realized this was going to be the best summer ever!" Gets your attention, doesn't it?The book goes on and on about all the little details that make an essay great. It reminds you to have a clear thesis statement that tells the main idea. It says to use transition words like "first", "next", and "in conclusion" to connect your ideas smoothly. You need to back up your points with lots of evidence and examples. And of course, you have to conclude by restating your thesis in a new way and wrapping everything up nicely with a final thought.Other sections cover stuff like finding and evaluating sources for research essays, avoiding plagiarism by citing sources properly, and tips for revising and editing your drafts. Apparentlygood writers don't just magically create perfect essays on the first try!I know that was a lot of information, but I tried to make it fun and easy to understand. Writing essays can seem hard, but this unit gives you all the tools and steps you need. Just take itstep-by-step - start with your outline and thesis, write a first draft, get feedback from others, then revise revise revise until it's polished and perfect. Before you know it, you'll be an essay master!Well, I don't have any more space to keep writing. But I hope this gave you a good idea of what Unit 3.2 of the New College English Book is all about. Don't be scared of those big assignments - just follow the steps and let your creativity shine through. You got this! Thanks for reading, friends!篇3My Awesome Summer VacationYay! Summer vacation was finally here after a long year of school. No more waking up super early, no more homework, no more tests for two whole months! I was so excited to just relax and have fun.The first week, my family didn't have any big plans, so I got to sleep in late every day. I stayed in my pajamas until noon just playing video games and watching cartoons. My parents didn't mind because they knew I worked hard all school year. But after a few days, I started getting bored just sitting around the house. I bugged my mom to take me to the pool so I could swim and run around outside. The pool was my favorite place in the summer. I loved going underwater and seeing how long I could hold my breath. I also liked jumping off the diving board and trying to make the biggest splash! When I got tired of swimming, I'd get a Popsicle or an ice cream cone from the snack bar. Chocolate was my favorite flavor, but I liked mixing it up with strawberry or orange cream sometimes too. By the end of the day, I was tuckered out from all the sun and swimming.A couple weeks into summer, my parents surprised me and my little brother by taking us on a trip to the beach! We stayed in a beach house right by the ocean. Every morning, I could hear the crashing waves outside my window when I woke up.The beach was amazing. I spent hours building gigantic sandcastles and digging deep holes to bury my brother in thesand. The hardest part was getting the top wet enough to stick together without it falling apart. My favorite beach activity was hunting for seashells though. I'd walk for miles along the shoreline, bending down every few steps to pick up a cool shell. I got all kinds – big conches, twisty whelks, smooth olives, and even a couple of pristine sand dollars.I kept them all in a big plastic bucket that I decorated with stickers and markers. Some days, the ocean was too rough for swimming with big waves and strong currents. But I didn't mind too much because I loved playing in the saltwater pools that formed between the sandy banks when the tide went out. I could net little fish, crabs, and shrimp in those shallow pools for hours. When I got tired of the beach, we went into the nearby town and visited all the tourist shops. I bought a bunch of souvenirs like shot glasses (just for decoration!), keychains, stuffed animals, and T-shirts. My favorite was a tie-dye shirt with a big funky pineapple on it.We also went mini golfing at a course with all these crazy obstacles like windmills, loops, and even a waterfall you had to putt across. Mini golfing was hard, but I had a blast aiming my ball through the volcano sculpture and into the clown's mouth.Another day, we went on a deep sea fishing trip on a big boat. I didn't catch anything huge, but I still reeled in a couple of saltwater trout that we cooked up for dinner. They tasted delicious after being out on the ocean all day! Before we knew it, our beach vacation was over and it was time to head back home. I was so sad to leave, but I had the best time ever. We took hundreds of photos and videos to remember the trip. And of course, I got to bring my seashell collection home as the ultimate souvenir. The last couple weeks of summer flew by way too fast. Soon, it was time to get ready to go back to school with new supplies, clothes, and a fresh haircut. As much as I loved summer vacation, I actually started getting a little antsy to return to seeing my friends and teachers again. Those two months of summer went by in a blink, but I have so many wonderful memories. Swimming at the pool, exploring the beach, mini golfing, fishing, shopping for souvenirs, staying up late watching movies – I did it all! Vacation was loads of fun, but I was also low-key excited to start another year of learning and growing. I just hope next summer is even half as awesome as this one was!篇4My Big Trip to London!Guess what? I went on the BIGGEST trip ever this summer! My family and I got to go to London in England for two whole weeks! It was sooooo fun and exciting. I saw so many cool things and had the best time ever. Let me tell you all about it!We took a big airplane to get to London from Beijing. The plane ride was really long - over 10 hours! But I didn't mind because I got to watch movies, eat yummy snacks, and even took a little nap. When we finally landed in London, I could hardly contain my excitement!First up, we visited Buckingham Palace where the Queen lives. The palace was huge with so many rooms and really pretty gardens out front. We even got to see the changing of the guard ceremony which was really neat to watch. Those guards with the funny fuzzy hats sure can march well!Next, we went to see Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Big Ben is waaaaay bigger than I thought it would be. The massive clock tower is beautifully designed with intricate stone carvings. We also went inside and learned that Big Ben is actually just the name of the bell inside the tower, not the tower itself! One of the highlights was definitely the London Eye - that giant ferris wheel along the River Thames. We got to go right to the very top and see amazing views of the whole city below us. I felt like I was on top of the world up there! The ride was so smooth and slow that it didn't make me dizzy at all.We also explored some museums like the British Museum and the Natural History Museum. There were so many fascinating old artifacts, dinosaur fossils, gemstone exhibits, and more. I loved seeing the real-life things I've learned about in my science and history classes. And of course, we had to do some shopping too! We went to places like Harrods, Oxford Street, and Camden Market and I got some really cool souvenirs like a "Mind the Gap" t-shirt, a mini phone booth, and a stuffed Paddington Bear. Everything in London was so lively and colorful. We took a ride on one of those famous red double-decker buses and I got to sit up top and pretend I was the driver. We also took a boat cruise along the Thames River one evening which was lovely.Let's not forget the food! We had traditional fish and chips, tasty meat pies, delicious scones for afternoon tea, and yummy sweets like treacle tart and custard tarts. I also drank my first"proper" cup of English tea which was strong but delicious with some milk and sugar.Overall, my trip to London was an absolute dream come true.I made so many wonderful memories exploring such an amazing, historic city. I learned so much about British culture and got to experience many "firsts" like riding the Tube (subway), seeing live theater, and walking across the famous Abbey Road zebra crossing.I already can't wait to go back to London again someday! But for now, I have tons of photos and souvenirs to help me reminisce about my incredible adventure overseas. This was truly a trip I'll never forget for the rest of my life. Thanks for reading all about my big London adventure!篇5My Big Summer AdventureWoohoo, summer vacation was finally here! No more waking up super early or doing homework after school. I was free as a bird for two whole months. My parents had already made big plans for our family though. We were going to go on an amazing adventure to England and France!I had studied a little bit about those countries in school, but I was really excited to see and experience them for myself. We took a really long flight from our home in California all the way across the ocean to London, England. I had never been on a plane for that many hours before. The flight attendants kept giving me snacks and movies to watch though, so it wasn't too bad. When we finally landed in London, everything just seemed so different and cool. The cars drove on the wrong side of the road! People spoke English but with funny accents I wasn't used to. We stayed in a classic red phone booth-looking hotel right in the heart of the city. I loved looking out the window and watching all the crowds of people hurrying by on the sidewalks.Over the next few days, we went to visit all the famous landmarks like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London. My favorite was definitely the Natural History Museum though. They had gigantic dinosaur skeletons and a life-sized blue whale model that was longer than a school bus! We also got to go on the London Eye, which is a huge ferris wheel that goes super high up in the air. I was a little scared at first, but the views of the city from the top were breathtaking. After a week of touring London, we took a train under the English Channel to Paris, France. It was weird riding a subway that went underneath the ocean! When we popped out on the other side, everything seemed totally different again. The buildings looked older with pretty arched windows and doors. And there were patisseries on every corner with the yummiest-smelling pastries. We visited iconic sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre museum, and the Cathedral of Notre Dame. I loved looking at all the amazing artwork in the Louvre, especially the Mona Lisa. Her smile seemed so mysterious and mischievous, like she was keeping a secret. For me though, nothing beat the experience of going up in the Eiffel Tower. My stomach felt like it was tying itself in knots as the elevator zipped us up, up, up to the very top observation deck. The whole city of Paris stretched out beneath us, with parks, grand churches, and winding river views in every direction.Of course, no trip to France would be complete without indulging in all the delicious French foods. We had chocolate croissants and crêpes with Nutella for breakfast nearly every morning. For dinners, we'd find a cozy little café and sample potato-cheese soup, boeuf bourguignon, chocolate mousse, andas many different varieties of bread as we could get our hands on. My parents also let me have a few sips of wine, since it's perfectly normal for kids to drink it in France. I thought it tasted kind of gross at first, but it grew on me by the end of the trip. After two amazing weeks overseas, I felt like a seasoned world traveler by the time we returned home to California. I had collected so many cool souvenirs and taken about a million pictures to show all my friends. Looking through them, I could still smell the pastries from Paris and hear the buzzing crowds of London. I may have only been nine years old, but that summer adventure awoke my lifelong passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures. In fact, I'm already begging my parents to start planning a trip to Italy for next summer!篇6My Super Fun Summer Vacation!Hi! My name is Amy and I'm 8 years old. I just got back from my summer vacation and I'm so excited to tell you all about it! It was the best summer ever.First, my family went to the beach for a week. We stayed in a big beach house right by the ocean. Every morning I would wake up and run outside to play in the sand and splash in the waves. The water was so pretty and blue. My brother and I had swimming contests to see who could swim the farthest out. He always won because he's older and bigger than me.At night, we would have bonfires on the beach and roast marshmallows. My dad would tell us scary ghost stories that made me jump! One time I got marshmallow goo all over my bathing suit. It was really sticky and hard to get off. But it was still super yummy! There were also lots of cute little crabs on the beach. I tried to catch them but they were too fast! I did find some really pretty seashells though. I collected them to make a necklace for my mom. She loved it!After the beach, we went camping in the mountains for a few days. We had to hike way up into the woods to get to our campsite. I got tired so my dad had to carry me on his shoulders part of the way. When we finally made it, we set up our tent and started a campfire. That night, we went on a crazy adventures! My dad said he heard a noise outside the tent, so we grabbed our flashlights to go investigate. We tiptoed through the dark forest, watching out for bears and wolves. Suddenly, a bunny rabbit hopped out fromthe bushes! We all screamed and ran back to the tent. Whew, I was so scared! The next day, we went on a long hike to a waterfall in the mountains. It was awesome! The waterfall was huge and there was a pool at the bottom where we could swim. The water was freeeeezing cold, but so refreshing on a hot day. We had a picnic lunch by the waterfall and I fed the little fishies crackers. On our last day of camping, we saw a deer up close! My mom spotted it drinking from the stream near our tent. We all froze and watched it silently. The deer looked up at us but wasn't scared. After a few minutes, it just turned around and walked back into the trees. It was such a cool moment. Finally, we ended our trip by visiting my grandparents in the city for a long weekend. I love going to their house because they spoil me rotten! My grandma made all my favorite foods like pancakes, mac and cheese, and brownies. Yum yum!My grandpa took us to all the fun tourist spots around the city. We rode a giant Ferris wheel, went to an aquarium with sharks and rays, and explored an amazing science museum. There were so many cool exhibits to see and experiments to do. I loved the bubble room where you could make gigantic soap bubbles! We also went to a baseball game one night. I had my first hot dog and it was delicious! During the 7th inning stretch, we all did the chicken dance and sang "Take Me Out to the Ball Game." Our team ended up winning and we got ice cream to celebrate. On our last day, my grandparents took us shopping in some of the big city stores. I got a ton of new toys and clothes! But my favorite thing was picking out a fluffy new puppy from the pet store. I named her Daisy and she's the cutest little golden retriever ever. Now I have the perfect souvenir from my amazing summer!Well, that's about it! I had such an unbelievable summer full of adventures, new experiences, and awesome memories. I can't wait to go back to school and tell all my friends everything I did on vacation. Maybe next year we can all go together! Wouldn't that be fun?。

Generation GapIn modern society, there is often a hck of understanding between parents and children. Purents dislike what their children think and do, while children often complain that their parents can not understand them. This is often called generation gap. There are some reasons for the existence of generation gap. First, the environment in which young people now living is quite different from that of their parents'. Therefore, they often hold different opinions on various problenas in life. Second, disparity in age also leads to misunderstanding. Young people want to do everything as they like, while older people often can't help interfering when they think what the young people are doing is wrong. This inevitably leads to disharmony. In rny opinion, generation gap can be bridged as long as both parents and children are willing to make efforts. They may have an open talk and tell each other what they think about certain problems. They should be considerate enough to realize that each generation has its own advantages and disadvantages. Their openness and consideration probably will result in a much better relationship between purents and children.Tomorrow’s InternetNowadays, with the development of science and technology, the Internet becomes more and more popular. 姓名:周雅旋
Travel: Experience, Enjoy, Enlighten
Here it is, the Yu Long snow mountain, covered by shiny and pure white snow, exposing its peak above the white clouds, the rest hidden in the fog, just like a floating painting in the air. I can’t help to marvel at what a brilliant artist the nature is to use to create such breathtaking scenery with only two colors.
That’s exactly I’ve seen in my trip to Yunnan, in which I experienced new life, enjoyed myself, and was deeply enlightened, which is also why I believe that travel is essential to everybody’s life.
The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page. What Saint Augustine said can’t express what I felt better. We only live once, and what’s more, life is short. So why restrict yourself in fixed life mode and keep yourself in the little shell? As the little human being in the big world, the place we reach is quite limited. So why spoil the chance to step out of our shell and widen our horizon? On the road, we see new scenery, eat special food, and meet different people. By experiencing new things, we read other beautiful pages of our life and try other possibilities of life.
Actually I was arguing with my mother before I went to see the Yu Long snow mountain. However, when I stood under the foot of the mountain and got completely impressed by its magnificence, I totally forgot what I was arguing about with my mother. Free from tired body and annoyed mood, we can get rid of those heavy staffs, open our hearts to travel light.
If you are lucky enough, you may not only get charged in your trip, but also get enlightened. Faced with inspiring sights, which can be grand scenery or an ordinary life scene on the way, you possess new perspective on job, or profound insight towards life.
If life is a book, then travel will add vivid pictures in it. It’s up to ourselves whether we can hit the road and start a exploration full of surprise, joy, and inspiration.。
