Topic:Our five facial features

Time: 45 mins

Analysis of material:

1.The topic is closely linked to everyone , to our daily life .

2.The topic of this class is our five facial features. It is a New class , students should

learn 6 new English words

3. A tongue twister can greatly help students to remember these new words ,and the

new knowledge.

4.Mastering all new words is easy for the second grade primary school students. The analysis of learners:

1.There are 30 students.

2.Students’ English learning is in a incipient stage.

3. Students is too young to control themselves well.

4.Students’ interest in English has not be motivated.

5.Student can not focus their attention on the teacher all the time.

6.Students are lively and active , they are brave to show themselves and like do many games and activities.

7.Students are eager for praise and encouragement in this age.

Teaching objects:

I.Knowledge objects

1.Students can know and correctly read the new words , such as face , hair , eyes...

2.Students can match theses new words with the actual facial features.

3.Students can correctly write these new words.

4.Students can recite tongue twister by themselves.

II.Ability objectives:

1.Students can enlarge their vocabulary.

2.Students can improve their listening ,writing and speaking English skills.

III.Emotional objectives :

1.Students can increase interests in English .

2.Students can understand the importance about our facial features and know we

should protect them carefully.

Teaching points:

1.Students know and correctly read these new words

2.Students can match these new words with our actual five facial features.

3.Students’ listening and speaking skills can be improved.

1.Students can remember these new words by themselves.

2.Students can correctly write the new words.

Teaching methods: Q&A method、group work method、situational teaching method.

Teaching aids:PowerPoint, video, blackboard, cards, eyepatch. Teaching procedures:

I.Step 1:Warm-up (5 mins)

1 . The teacher comes into classroom and greets to the students:“Good

morning boys and girls.”

2 . The teacher inquires about the weather and the mood of the students:“It’s a

nice day ,right? How are you felling today ?”

3.The teacher plays a cartoon video.

4.After video , the teacher asks students :“ Do you know who is she/he .”

and :“Why do you know he/her.”

5.Through students’ answers ,the teacher says in a guide way:“oh ,I know you all

know her because you all have watched this cartoon ,right? So you all know

he/she because you remember his/her appearance when you watched the

cartoon ,right?”

6.The teacher says :“ Every one has their own appearances ,we recognize different

people through their appearances , but do you know how many organs in our

head ,and what are they?”

(Justification : This can stretch the distance between the teacher and

students and can enhance the class atmosphere. Through the cartoon and

the communication between the teacher and students , the teacher

attract students attention and increase their interests for the topic)

II.Presentation (25 mins)

1.The teacher shows these pictures one by one and teach students how to

read these new words (face、eyes、 nose、 mouth、 ears) with kinds of

interesting ways (boys read , girls read, group read ,different lines

read ,different voices read, Q&A) until almost everyone can open their
