Step 1 Presentation

1.Ask the Ss: Who is the tallest in your class? Who is the most hard-working in the class?

2.Free talk in groups.

3.Let the students read the sentences above.

Step 2 1a

1.Learn new words first:theater, comfortable, seat ,screen, close, ticket, worst, cheaply, song, choose

2.How do you choose which movie theater to go to? Write the things.

Step 3 1b Listen

1.Play the tape for the students to listen and fill in the chart.

2.Check the answers.

Step 4 1c Pairwork

1.Practice the conversation in 1c.

2.Then talk about the movie theaters you know.

Step 5 2a and 2b Listening

1.Listen and circle the boys’ answers.

2. Listen again

3. Pay attention to the sentences:

I’m new in town. 我新来此处。

in town 是一个短语，表示“在说话人所在或所指的城镇”的意思。作这一用法时，town不与冠词连用。

fresh adj.新鲜的；清新的

The vegetables are really fresh. I’d like to buy some.

这些蔬菜真新鲜，我想买些。

Step 1 Revision

1. Recite 2d:Hi, I’m Greg. I’m new in town.

Welcome to the neighborhood! How do you like it so far? ….

2.复习形容词或副词的最高级形式：

new —— newest fresh —— freshest close —— closest

big —— biggest early —— earliest bad/badly ——the worst

这几个都是特殊变化的形式，需单独记忆

cheaply —— (the) most cheaply

carefully —— (the) most carefully

以ly 结尾的副词的最高级都是在其前面加(the) most; the可以不加。

Step 2 New words:

1. Learn the new words: worse,service,pretty, menu,act,meal,movie theater.

2.Explain the use of them.
