Like a false guard, false watch keeping, Still, in strife, she whispered peace; She would sing while I was weeping; If I listened, she would cease.
False she was, and unrelenting; When my last joys strewed the ground, Even Sorrow saw, repenting, Those sad relics scattered round;

Charlotte Brontë (1816—1855 )
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Jane Eyre's character:
Jane Eyre, an orphan child with a fiery spirit and a longing to love and be loved,a poor, plain, little governess who dares to love her master,a man superior to her in many ways, and even is brave enough to declare to the man her love for him,cuts a completely new woman image. In this novel Charlotte characterizes Jane Eyre as a naive, kind-hearted, noble-minded woman who pursues a genuine kind of love.

You think I could stay here to become nothing to you? Do you think because I am poor, obscure and plain that I am soulless and heartless? I have as much soul as you and fully as much heart. And if god had gifted me with wealth and beauty, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me as it is now for me to leave you.

Personal Life
Their father was a clergyman at Haworth, Yorkshire. When they were young,the Bronte sisters were sent to a school for clergymen's daughters. The oldest two died there due to the poor and unhealthy conditions. This experience inspired the later portrayal of Lowood School in the novel Jane Eyre. After the death of the elder sisters, Charlotte and Emily were brought home to be educated by their father.
For some time, they worked in a boarding school and were subsequently governesses in rich families. Charlotte & her two younger sisters had a great fondness for literature. In May 1846 appeared a volume of poetry entitled Poems by Currer, Ellis and Acton Bell (the pseudonyms(笔名) of Charlotte, Emily and Anne), but received little attention and only two copies were sold. Then the three sisters turned to novel writing.

ቤተ መጻሕፍቲ ባይዱ
Jane Eyre represents those middle-class working women who are struggling for recognition of their basic rights and equality as a human being. The vivid description of her intense feelings and her thought and inner conflicts brings her to the heart of the audience.

Emily Bronte (1818-1848)
Emily Bronte was perhaps the greatest writer of the three Bronte sisters - Charlotte, Emily and Anne. Emily Bronte published only one novel, Wuthering Heights . But that single work has its place among the masterpieces of English literature. Some of her best lyrics are also rated with the best in English poetry.
Anne Bronte (1820—1849)
Anne Bronte 安妮.勃朗特
Anne was born in 1820. She was a gentle and soft girl, being introvert and quiet, she was regarded less gifted than her two elder sisters. She just lived for 29 years, and during the last ten years of her life, she was busy serving as a governess. Though teaching had taken much of her time, she still wrote two novels, Agnes Grey and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, which brought her great fame. She was the only one who was not buried in the church of Haworth.
