一、概述
本模块通过准备聚会食物的对话和介绍西餐用餐习惯的课文,帮助同学们了解西方的饮食文化和用餐习俗,同时可以加深同学们对中国饮食文化的认识与理解。在听、说、读、写方面要求大家:能听懂有关饮食习惯方面的对话,运用记笔记的方法掌握细节信息;能谈论聚会计划;能读懂有关介绍食物和饮食习惯的文章,根据相关信息预测下文,能评价文章和根据文中信息推断文章的深层含义;能模仿课文写一篇关于中国食物和饮食习惯的短文。语言知识方面:
1.能够正确使用下列单词:finger, basket, bread, fork, knife, lemonade, pancake, serve, spoon, hold, hot, roll, saying, cheers, plate, over, blind, sense, taste, owner, bee, officer, course
2.复习被动语态。
二、重难点知识讲解
1.What food and drink is for the family? 家人吃什么喝什么?
句中的food and drink看成一个整体,所以谓语动词用单数。
e.g.A knife and fork is needed for a western meal.
吃西餐时要用刀和叉。
The cart and horse is coming.
马车来了。
2.And everyone has been told to prepare a traditional dish from our own countries.
并且通知每人要准备一道自己国家的传统食物。
(1)has been told是现在完成时的被动语态。动词的语态是本模块语法复习重点。英语的语态共有两种:主动语态和被动语态。主动语态表示主语是动作的执行者,被动语态表示主语是动作的承受者。被动语态是动词的一种特殊形式,一般说来,只有需要动作对象的及物动词才有被动语态。汉语往往用“被,受,给”等词来表示被动意义。被动语态的基本结构是“be动词+及物动词的过去分词”。除了现在完成时的被动语态,初中阶段还要求熟练运用一般现在时、一般过去时、常用情态动词的被动语态。它们的结构如下:
①一般现在时被动语态:am / is / are +及物动词过去分词
e.g.We are all invited. 我们都被邀请了。
②一般过去时被动语态:was / were +及物动词过去分词
e.g.My bike was stolen. 我的自行车被偷了。
③现在完成时被动语态:have / has +been +及物动词过去分词
e.g.Two hundred trees have been planted by now.
到现在为止,已经种了二百棵树了。
④含情态动词的被动语态:can/may/must/should be +及物动词过去分词
e.g.Tables can be made of stone.桌子可由石头制造。
(2)在这句话中,dish的意思是“烹制好的菜肴;一道菜;食品”。
e.g.When I was in Italy, I had a wonderful pasta dish.
我在意大利的时候,吃过一顿很棒的意大利面食。
do/wash the dishes表示“清洗餐具(包括盘子、杯子、碗等)”。
e.g.I’ll just do the dishes before we go.
我们走之前,我会把餐具洗好的。
3.I suppose it can be h eated up in the school kitchen…
我猜(是在家做好,)可以在学校食堂加热一下……
suppose后接的是省略了that的宾语从句。宾语从句的谓语动词是含有情态动词的被动语态。其中heat up意思是“加热”。
e.g.Mary heated up a pie for me.
Mary给我热了一块饼。
It is used to heat up the coffee.
它是用来给咖啡加热的。
4.Oh, soup’s no good. 哦,汤不行。
这里no good表示“没(或没什么、没多大)用处(或好处)”。
e.g.The movie is no good, I think. There’s too much fighting.
我觉得这部电影不太好,打斗场面太多。
It’s no good worrying about that now.
现在担心那件事已经没用了。
下面总结一下no good的用法,供同学们参考:
(1)no good doing sth.做某事没用
e.g.It’s no good talki ng to him——he never listens.
跟他讲没用,他从来不听。
(2)no good for sth
e.g.These glasses are no good for wine.
这些杯子不适合用来喝红酒。
(3)no good to sb.对某人没多大用处
e.g.A car is no good to me, since I can’t drive!
汽车对我没有多大用处,因为我不会开车。
5.There’s a saying,“When in Rome, do as the Romans do.”
有一句谚语,“入乡随俗”。
(1)在该句中,do as the Romans do的意思是“像罗马人那样去做”。as表示“正如,像……”,引导方式状语从句。
e.g.While in the chemistry lab, do as I say, please.
在化学实验室,请按照我说的去做。
As I mentioned in my last letter, I’ll be back in Tianjin in June.
正如我上封信提到的,我将在6月份回到天津。
