西方婚礼基本流程：在神的见证下举行

1. 新郎新娘分别前往教堂，会合后开始举行婚礼（一般是下午）；

2. 婚礼由神父或牧师主持（也有在市政厅举行的），亲朋或有心聆听“福音”的人都欢迎观礼，大家静侯新人到来；

3. 神父带领新人宣读婚礼誓言，询问现场有没有人反对、询问新郎新娘是否愿意接受对方；

4. 互相说完“我愿意”之后双方交换戒指、接吻、签字，礼成；

5. 一般情况下，新郎新娘分别有伴郎、伴娘、花童若干，统称为Bridal Party；

6. 婚礼完成后，新人一干人等前往外景地、公园、海边等特别景点拍摄自然风格的婚礼图片，除传统惯例要拍的合影镜头外，其余镜头常常是即兴发挥；

7. 晚上，一对新人、双方父母及亲友聚于酒店、酒吧、餐厅甚至海边开party，程序为入场——就坐——伴郎致辞——宴会——切蛋糕——新人跳第一支舞——舞会+自助餐——新娘抛花球（新郎抛袜圈）——吻别；

8. 新郎新娘赴酒店或度假地欢度新婚夜。

西方婚礼习俗：有旧有新有借有蓝

——中式的婚礼上我们不能穿黑色的衣服、要吃莲子桂圆、要小男孩滚床……而西式的婚礼也有他们的讲究，其中最盛行的就是要求新娘在结婚当天，全身的穿戴中要有一些旧东西、一些新东西、一些借来的东西和一些蓝色的东西。这些都分别代表了什么呢？Something old... 旧东西

Something new... 新东西

Wearing something new is s uppos ed to represent s uccess and hope in the bride's new life and in her marriage. I f the bride purc has ed her wedding dress new, it may represent her new item, but any item that is new may be us ed. Something "new" is us ually the eas ies t c ategory to fill.

Something borrowed... 借来的东西

T he borrowed item s hould be something borrowed from a friend that is happily married. I t is s ugges ted that their happiness will rub off on you and bring las ting happiness to your marriage. Some brides borrow an item of clothing, a piece of jewelry, a handkerc hief or perhaps a beaded purs e.

借东西应该从一个婚姻幸福的朋友那里借来，预示着朋友的幸福婚姻也会带给你好运。

Something blue... 蓝色的东西

Wearing something blue dates back to biblic al times when a blue wedding dress was worn to represent purity, fidelity and love. Over time this has c hanged from wearing a blue dress to wearing just a blue band around the bottom of t he bride's wedding dress to modern times where it is c ommonplace for the bride to wear a blue garter.

所谓的 bac helor party 就是在男生结束单身生活之前，他的单身好友会为他举办的一场 party，让他正式告别单身生活。活动的内容除了喝酒玩游戏之外，有时他们还会请来脱衣舞娘 (s tripper) 来表演脱衣舞 (因为理论上来说看脱衣舞是单身汉的特权!)；过份一点的

还会请 s tripper 坐在他的大腿上大跳脱衣舞，也就是所谓的 lap danc ing。当然一切的疯狂之后，你也就要正式告别单身生涯，迈向婚姻之路了。

老美说“举行一个party”喜欢用 throw 这个动词，算是一种很口语但却十分受欢迎的用法。例如"我明天要在我家举行派对"就是I'm gonna throw a party in my house tomorrow.

传统结婚誓词：Till death do us apart
