Good evening, ladies and gentlemen.

女士们，先生们，大家晚上好！

Today I want to start a topic about our motherland. I can proudly tell you about our motherland, a beautiful country located in the East. She has a history of five thousand years’ civilization. She is called China.

今天，我要在此向大家介绍我们祖国。我可以很骄傲地向各位介绍我们的祖国，一个坐落在东方的美丽国度。她已经有五千年的历史文明，她就叫中国。

I love my beautiful motherland, I love the promising young plants growing in spring and the golden yellow heavy crops in autumn. I love the temperament like green pines. And I love the sweet sugar canes in my hometown, which nourish my

heartland like milk.

我爱我们美丽的祖国，我爱那春天蓬勃的秧苗和秋日金黄的硕果。我爱祖国那青松气质，我也爱家乡的甜蔗，好像乳汁滋润着我的心窝。

I also love the beautiful South China Sea with green waves rolling and the beautiful northland with white snow falling. I love the murmuring little green rivers, flowing through my dream. This is what I want to express to you, this is how beautiful our motherland is like.

我爱那碧波滚滚的南海和那白雪飘飘的北国。我爱那淙淙的小河,荡着清波从我的梦中流过。这就是我要介绍给你的，这就是我们美丽的祖国。

However, as a matter of fact, these are not entirely what it is like. Recently, because of the air pollution, the haze has destroyed our blue sky. Because of the water pollution, the sewage has destroyed our rivers. Because of the sound pollution and light pollution, our survival environment has also been destroyed.

然而，事实上并不是完全这样子的。近年来，因为大气污染，那些阴霾已经摧毁了我们的蓝天。因为水污染，污水已经摧毁了我们的江河。因为声污染和光污染，我们赖以生存的环境也同样遭受破坏。

My dearest friends, how can it be like that? Is there any way to reduce all these problems and restore our beautiful homeland? Yes, of course! Man should not destroy the environment by cutting down trees. Man should not destroy the environment by exhausting polluted gases and water into the air and rivers. Instead, man should try to reduce using fossil oil and develop more green energy. Man should plant more trees and rebuild our natural homeland.

我亲爱的朋友们，事实为什么会这样子呢？有没有什么办法来减少这样的事情发生还有拯救我们美丽的祖国吗？是的，当然有。人们不应该砍伐树木来破坏我们的环境，人们也不应该大量释放污水和废气来破坏我们的环境。相反，人们应该尽量减少使用化石燃料,发展更多的绿色能源。人们应该种植更多的树木来重建我们的自然家园。

I hope that one day in the future, our motherland can still be beautiful. I hope that one day we can still live in the natural country. And I hope that one day, our national flag can still flutter in the clear blue sky upon our beautiful motherland. Thank you!

我希望未来的某一天,我们的祖国仍然可以是美丽的。我希望未来我们还能生活在自然的国度里。我希望未来的某一天,我们的国旗依然可以在中华大地的蔚蓝天空中飘扬！
