听第1至10段材料，回答第1至10题。

1. W: What does this sign mean?

M: It means turning left.

2. W: How is your father?

M: He has been ill for three years. Now he is still in hospital

3. W: Is this the first snow in your hometown?

M: Yes, let's make a snowman and enjoy ourselves.

4. W: What did Mum buy for you yesterday?

M: She bought me a T-shirt, but in fact I need shoes more..

5. W: Excuse me. Do you know who invented our lights, telephones and moving

pictures?

M: Edison did. During his lifetime, he had 1,093 inventions.

M: Thank you. I think I will.

7. M: Judy, what can I do? I didn't do well in the maths test.

M: I'm afraid we need five more.

9. W: Will you be free this weekend, John?

W: I've got two tickets for the film Harry Potter.

M: Great. I'll certainly go with you.

10. W: I wonder what kind of clothes we're going to need for our visit. How's the

weather in May in your hometown, Tom?

M: I'm afraid it's not very nice. There are more rainy days in May than in any other month, but at least it isn't cold there then.
