English lesson plan

Good afternoon, everyone. I hope you will enjoy my speech. My topic is Unit 5 What are the shirts made of? in book 3. My speech is made up of six parts. They are Analysis of teaching materials, Analysis of the students, teaching methods and studying ways, teaching aids, teaching procedures and blackboard design.
Part One: Analysis of the teaching materials
1.Status and function
This is an important lesson in this unit even in this book. This lesson is the first one of Unit 5. It’s a typical listening and speaking lesson. If the SS can learn it well, it will be helpful to make the Ss learn the rest of this unit . In this lesson, the Ss learn what products are made of and where they were made . Such a topic is related closely to their daily life and can raise their learning interests. So learning it well can improve their listening ability and spoken English.
2. Teaching aims and demands
a. Knowledge Objects
New vocabulary:chopstick, coin, for K, blouse, silver, glass, cotton, steel, glass
be made of, be made in, be made from
Pattern Sentences: Is it made of silver?
It was made in Thailand.
What is the painting from?
Grammar: the Passive Voice of the Present Tense
b. Ability Objects
(1) Develop the Ss’ abilities of listening, speaking and reading.
(2)To enable Ss to talk about what products are made of and where they were made .
c. Moral Objects
Ss learn about something that were made in China and are proud of China, they will study hard to make China stronger and stronger, and love China.
3. Teaching key points and difficulty
a. Teaching key points:
1. New vocabulary.
2. Pattern sentences.
3. The Passive Voice of the Present Tense.
b. Difficult points:
The Passive Voice of the Present Tense.
Part two: Analysis of the students
As we all know, students of Grade 9 have learned English for a few years and have mastered a lot of vocabulary. What’s more , they are creative and they have thoughts. They are interested in new things. They learn it quickly, but students have some difficulties in expressing themselves in English; especially they are afraid to speak English in public. So the teacher should try their best to guide and encourage the students to speak English loudly in class. (so the teacher should
pay attention to that when she designs the lesson.)
Part three: The teaching methods and studying ways
In this lesson, I’ll mainly use “Communicative”teaching method, “Audio-visual”teaching me thod and “Task-based”teaching method. That is to say, I’ll let the Ss to get a better understanding of the key sentence patterns by practicing in pairs and in groups. I’ll give the tasks and arrange some kinds of activities in this lesson, such as listening ,spoken English competition, watching small movies and make a survey. In studying ways, I get Ss to observe--imitate--practice-product. Part four: Teaching Aids
In this lesson, the teacher needs a multimedia computer to show slides, besides a blackboard and a tape recorder.
