He stopped the car and told Jason to get out immediately. Jason and his father got out of the car and made their way to the closest building. By this time the wind was blowing harder, and it was hard to see or hear. Debris was falling all over the place. Jason couldn’t see his dad anymore. He also realized that he wasn’t getting to the building fast enough. He was afraid he would be picked up by the wind and thrown into the air.As he made his way toward s the building, he noticed a field to his right. He could see an irrigation ditch(灌溉渠). If you were lucky enough to enjoy a French meal, you would most likely be offered some bread to eat with it. The most popular bread they bake is called a baguette. Ten million baguettes are sold every year in France. Because the French expect their bread to be super fresh, most of France’s 30, 000 bakers have to end their day by throwing into the waste bin any remaining baguettes.Frenchman Franck Wallet has thought about this food waste issue for many years. He originally trained to be an urban (城市的) planner and worked in that area for many years. But his mind would regularly turn to the problems of what to do with wastedfood—especially baguettes. He began to talk with some engineers to see if they could come up with a solution. In 2016, a solution was found. They called the machine the “Crumbier”.When a good baguette is just made, it is crispy on the outside and as soft as a cloud on the inside. Once it has cooled down the bread soon becomes hard. Before the Crumbier, this old bread would be thrown away. Today, if that bread is placed into the Crumbier, it is very quickly turned into very fine breadcrumbs(面包屑). These can be mixed with fresh flour(面粉), salt and water and baked again like normal bread.Bread made with Crumbier breadcrumbs has a darker colour, but just a little bit. The taste is also a little different and has been described as having the flavour of toast. Once the breadcrumbs have been produced, they can last up to six months if they have been packed properly. Because less water is used in Crumbier bread, it will last a little longer. The Crumbier is now on sale and bakers throughout France are making sure they have one. No one wants to waste food.22.What do most of French bakers do at the end of their day A.Prepare the materials for the next day. B.Give the remaining bread out for free.C.Throw the remaining bread away. D.Sell the bread at a very lowprice.23.What did Franck Wallet care about mostA.The waste of bread. On this day, she disconnects from the digital world and focuses on real-life experiences. In the morning, she prepares breakfast for herself while listening to music. In the afternoon, she wanders through the park with friends and in the evening, they enjoy a meal together without touching their phones, engaged in deep conversation. Upon returning home, she spends the evening reading.Chen started the plan as she often felt “interrupted” by technology, ci ting moments of distraction (分心) like pop-up notifications, ring tones and repetitious warnings leading her to check for new messages, and feelings of information ov erload. “Occasionallydisconnecting from the network is like feeding the brain a day of vegetarian food,” Chen said. Unplug Day is part of her plan to combat information overload from overusing the phone and to rebuild her focus. In addition to this, she has started replacing short videos with longer ones and prioritizes reading in-depth news articles or books. “When friends gather and everyone is glued to their phones, it makes me uncomfortable,” Chen said, adding that burying herself in social media prevented her from completing work as planned, leading to psychological burdens and a decreasing focus. It’s become a common situation where modern people might unconsciously use the time spent waiting at traffic lights to watch a short video or constantly check out a trending topic upon receiving a push notification from an app. To prevent this sense of being “controlled” by mobile devices, some young Chinese like Chen are experimenting with digital minimalism and are discovering positive outcomes from their efforts. Technology should bring us joy, not reduce the time we spend with family or increase our anxiety. Our goal is to control technology rather than letting it control us.4. What can we learn about Unplug DayA. It is a day for reading.B. It is a day without phones.C. It is a day away from the Internet.D. It is a day to spend withfriends.5. What does the underlined word “combat” in paragraph 2 meanA. Range.B. Cancel.C. Obtain.D. Prevent.6. What is the direct impact of over-involvement in social mediaA. Tasks’ delays.B. Stress from peers.C. Mental problems.D. A decreasing focus.7. What does the author suggest people do in the last paragraphA. Enjoy the benefits of technology.B. Decrease the time spent on digital devices.C. Remove the apps informing new messages.D. Watch longer videos while waiting at traffic lights.CHoney is a simple pleasure. It’s easy to forget, while enjoying its luxurious sweetness on a slice of buttered toast, that it is the end-product of a complicated production line involving advanced biological machinery and thousands of skilled workers.Honey starts out as nectar (花蜜), a solution of various sugars that flowering plants produce to attract insects like butterflies and all kinds of bees. Most of these visitors drink it down on the spot as nutrition for themselves. A food-hunting worker bee, though, does things differently. The bee stores the nectar in its honey stomach rather than digesting it. The stomach can hold a lot of nectar, up toalmost half the bee’s unloa ded body mass, and filling it may require a thousand flower visits. The transformation of nectar into honey begins while the bee is still on the wing, as the honey stomach produces enzymes (酶) that break down the larger, complex sugar molecule (分子) into smaller ones.On arrival back at the hive, where bees live and work, the bee unloads the nectar by giving the sugary solution to other workers, who pass it back and forth between each other, adding more enzymes each time. Once it is sufficiently sticky, the mixture is laid down in the beeswax cells of the honeycomb and the workers continue the drying process by fanning it with their wings. Only when the water content has been reduced to about 18 percent (from about 75 percent in the original nectar) do they seal the cells with beeswax lids. At this point , it is well and truly honey. An average hive produces about 11 kg of honey in a season, which requires the bees to fly over 1.5 million kilometers between them. A standard jar of honey requires about 80,000 km. The effort that has gone into making honey is worth remembering when spreading it onto toast —it can surely only add to the pleasure.8. Why does the worker bee store the nectar in its stomachA. To digest better.B. To absorb its nutrition.C. To keep it for its future food.D. To share it with other bees.9. What can be inferred from paragraph 3A. The cells are sealed by sticky solution.B. Producing honey requires teamwork.C. The drying work is done by female bees.D. It’s critical to maintain water percentage.10. How is the last paragraph developedA. By listing figures.B. By giving definitions.C. By making comparisons.D. By providing examples.11. Which may be a suitable title for the textA. Skilled WorkersB. A Simple PleasureC. Advanced and Intelligent CreaturesD. Luxurious Sweetness from Delicate WorkDTitled “A new future of work: The race to deploy (部署) AI and raise skills in Europe and beyond”, the report highlights the potential for AI to transform the global workforce by 2030, China Media Group reported on Sunday. The report suggests that generative AI could automate nearly one-third of working hours in the US and Europe, leading to a polarization of the labor market. High-skilled, high-wage jobs may face talent shortages, while low-wage industries could experience asurplus (剩余) of labor. The percentage of high-wage jobs is expected to rise by 1.8 percent, while low-wage jobs may decrease by 1.4 percent. Germany, according to the report, is projected to have around 3 million jobs affected by AI by 2030, representing 7 percent of its total employment. On Saturday and Sunday, you slept in, getting four extra hours. On Monday morning, you were feeling so bright-eyed, and you only had one cup of coffee, instead of your usual two. But don't be cheated by your energy: You're still carrying around a heavy load of sleepiness, or what experts call "sleep debt" -- in this case something like six hours, almost a full night's sleep.Sleep debt is the difference between the amount of sleep you should be getting and the amount you actually get. It's a deficit (赤字) that grows every time we skim some extra minutes off our nightly sleep. "People accumulate(积累)sleep debt gradually without being noticed," says psychiatrist William C. Dement, founder of the Stanford University Sleep Research Centre. Studies show that such short-term lack of sleep leads to a foggy brain, worsened vision, and trouble remembering. Long-term effects include obesity and heart disease. A survey by the National Sleep Foundation reports that we're losing one hour of sleep each night -- more than two full weeks of sleep each year. The good news is that, like all debts, with some work, sleep debt can be repaid. Adding an extra hour or two of sleep a night is the way to catch up on sleep debt. For the long-term lack of sleep, take it easy for a few months to get back into a natural sleep pattern. Go to bed when you are tired, and allow your body to wake you in the morning (no alarm clock allowed). You may find yourself catatonic (有紧张感) in the beginning of the recovery cycle: Expect to have ten hours' shut-eye per night. As the days pass, however, the amount of sleeping time will gradually decrease. So earn back that lost sleep -- and follow the orders of your inner sleep needs, and you'll feel better. "When you put away sleep debt, you become superman," says Stanford's Dement, talking about the improved mental and physical abilities that come with being well rested.28. The example of sleep math is used to show .A. in what case you build up a sleep debtB. why you need six hours' sleep every nightC. why you are full of energy even when lacking sleepD. in what case you should drink coffee to keep energetic29. The author begins Paragraph 2 with .A. an exampleB. a definitionC. an argumentD. a discussion30. By saying the underlined sentence in the last paragraph, Dement means .A. you can get enough sleep with the superman’s helpB. you can achieve your goals with a sleep debtC. you will be in a good state with enough sleepD. you will be clever if you accumulate sleep debt31. What might be the most suitable title for the text?A. How Can You Keep Energetic?B. Can You Have a Good Sleep?C. What Is Sleep Debt?D. Can You Catch up on Sleep Debt?DRecently, the organizers of the 2024 Paris Olympics have suggested that breakdancing be included in 2024, making it closer to becoming an Olympic sport. The other 3 sports-surfing, skateboarding and sport climbing-will all make debuts in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. That is to say, audience will be able to watch these three sports as Olympic events for the first time. The organizers stressed that four sports had been chosen since they would reflect the city’s identity and help take the Olympics to the street. They added that the purposes were to deliver a Games that was able to keep up with the times and encourage new audience and attract young people. Breakdancing is a typical example which can be played without the limitations of time and places in urban and other environments. As one of the sports at the Young Olympic Games in Buenos Aires in 2018, breakdancing now could see its popularity greatly raised. But the International Olympic Committee(IOC) needs to approve the French suggestion before it can be formally added to the 2024 Paris Olympics sports programme. With new IOC rules first introduced to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Host cities can select sports and propose them for inclusion in those Games if they are popular in that country and add to the Game’s appeal.Antonio Espinos Ortueta, the president of the World Karate Federation said, “Our sport has grown rapidly over the last years. We believe that we have met all the requirements and that we have the perfect conditions to be added to the sports programme. However, we have learned today that we still haven’t had the chance to prove our value as an Olympic sport.”32. Something less well-known, though, is that fake news has also become a topic of scientific investigation. In a paper published in March in the journal Science, David Lazer, Matthew Baum and 14 co-authors consider what we do and don’t know about the science of fake news. They define fake news as “made-up information that imitates news in form but not in process or intention”.The paper makes a persuasive case that the investigation of fake news is timely and important. One conservative (保守的) estimate is that in the month before the 2016 election, the average American was exposed to somewhere between one and three articles from a known publisher of fake news. Another alarming result is that when it comes to political topics, tweets containing false information spread more rapidly and broadly on Twitter than those containing reliable information.Researchers mentioned in the paper that in the face of fake news and its spreading by social and other forms of media, “A new system of safeguards is needed.” But what kinds of safeguards can individual news consumers put into place? The simplistic answer is “be more reflective”. Don’ t believe everything you read, but consider the possibility that it’s false. We need to foster standards of discussion in which it’s OK to challenge what others say without the conversation immediately turning into abuse. The most effective lab meetings are like that: If someone disagrees with the presenter, they say so in a polite way. And by doing so, they might be saving the presenter from embarrassment in a more public forum. A community that encourages individuals to point out when statements are false or unclear benefits everybody by helping detect the truth. In the long run, the truth will win out. Our preferred society encourages the truth to win out before great damage is done.8.What can we infer from the third paragraph?A.The investigation proved fake news is persuasive.B.The spread of fake news has become an alarming issue.C.The use of social media might help fake news to spread.D.Fake news on political topics received more attention.9.What safeguard is suggested to individuals according to the passage?A.Reflecting on what you read.B.Neglecting the false information.C.Challenging what others say.D.Helping others detect the truth. 10.What is the author’s attitude to the future of news?A.Skeptical.B.Unclear.C.Indifferent.D.Optimistic. 11.Which of the following can be the best title for the passage?A.Do Not Believe in Everything B.The Truth Will Finally Win OutC.The Truth About Fake News D.The Spreading of Fake NewsAs students return to school this fall, many of them- perhaps especially those from historically disadvantaged student groups- will be starting the academic year with achievement levels lower than where they were at the beginning of summer break. 上海市华东师范大学第二附属中学紫竹校区2022届高三上学期开学考试英语试题II. Grammar and VocabularySection ADirections: After reading the passage below, fill in the blanks to make the passages coherent andgrammatically correct. For the blanks with a given word, fill in each blank with the proper form ofthe given word; for the other blanks, use one word that best fits each blank. What to Say to A Rude PersonRecently, as the British doctor Lord Robert Winston took a train from London to Manchester,he found himself 21.(become) steadily enraged. A woman had picked up her phoneand begun a oud conversation, 22.would last an unbelievable hour. Furious, Winstonbegan to tweet about the woman. He took her picture and sent it to his more than 40,000followers.When the train arrived at its destination,Winston quickly got off for he 23.(have) enough of the woman's rudeness. But the press were now waiting for her on the platform. And when they gleefully showed her the lord's messages, she used just one word to describeWinston's actions: rude.Winston's tale is something of a microcosm of our age of increasing rudeness, 24. (fuel) by social media (and, often, politics). What can we do to fix this?Studies have shown that rudeness spreads quickly and virally, almost like the common cold. Just witnessing makes it far more likely that we in turn, will be rude later on. Once infected, we are more aggressive, 25. (creative) and worse at our jobs. The only way to end a strain is to make a conscious decision to do so. We must have the guts to call it out, face to face. We must say, "Just stop." For Winston, that 26. have meant approaching the woman, telling her that her conversation was frustrating other passengers and politely asking her to speak more quietly or make the call at another time. The rage and injustice we feel at the rude behavior of a stranger can drive us to do odd things. In my own research, surveying 2,000 adults, I discovered that the acts of revenge people had taken ranged from the ridiculous ("I rubbed fries on their wind—shield") to the disturbing ("I sabotaged them at work"). Winston 27. shine a spotlight on the woman's behavior — but from afar, in a way that shamed her.We must instead combat rudeness head on. When we see it occur in a store, we must step up and say something. If it happens to a colleague, we must point it out. We must defend strangers in the same way we'd defend our best friends. But we can do it with grace, and by handling it 28. a trace of aggression and rudeness. Because once rude people can see their actions through the eyes of others, they are far more likely to end that strain 29. 30. this ride of rudeness rises, civilization needs civility.Section BDirections: Fill in each blank with a proper word chosen from the box. Each word can only be"drought—tolerant" plants and these tough plants: metabolism. Many different kinds of plants have developed tactics to weather dry spells. Some plants store 31 of water to see them through a drought; others send roots deep down to subsurface water supplies. But once these plants use up their stored water or tap out the underground supply, they cease growing and start to die. They may be able to handle a drought of some length, and many people use the term "drought tolerant" to describe such plants, but they never actually stop needing to 32 water, so Farrant prefers to call them drought 33.Resurrection plants, defined as those capable of recovering from holding less than 0.1 grams of water per gram of dry mass, are different. They lack water—storing structures, and their existence on rock faces prevents them from 34 groundwater, so they instead developed the ability to change their metabolism. When they detect a/an 35 dry period, they change their metabolisms, producing sugars and certain stress— 36 proteins and other materials in their tissues. As the plant dries, these resources take on first the 37 of honey, then rubber, and finally enter a glass—like state that is "the most stable state that the plant can maintain," Farrant says. That 38 the plant's metabolism and protects its dried—out tissues. The plants also change shape, shrinking to minimize the surface area through which their remaining water might evaporate. They can recover from months and years without water, depending on the species. What else can do this dry—out—and—revive trick? Seeds—almost all of them. At the start of her career, Farrant studied seeds such as avocados(牛油果) , coffee and lychee(荔枝). Though 39, such seeds are delicate — they cannot bud and grow if they dry out. Most seeds can wait out the dry, unwelcoming seasons until conditions are right and they sprout. Yet once they start growing, such plants seem not to retain the ability to hit the 40 button on metabolism in their stems or leaves.III. Reading Comprehensions Section ADirections: For each blank in the following passage, there are four words or phrases marked A、B、C and D. Fill in each blank with the word or phrase that best fits the context. The most important day I remember in all my life is the one on which my teacher, Anne Mansfield Sullivan, came to me. I am filled with wonder when I consider the immeasurable contrasts between the two lives which it connects. It was the third of March, 1887, three months before I was seven years old.On the afternoon of that eventful day, I stood on the porch, dumb, 41. I guessed vaguely from my mother's signs and from the hurrying to and from in the house that something unusual was about to happen, so I went to the door and waited on the steps. The afternoon sun penetrated the mass of honeysuckle that covered the porch, and fell on my upturned face. My fingers lingered almost 42 on the familiar leaves and blossoms which had just 43 to greet the sweet southern spring. I did not know what the future held of 44 or surprise for me. Anger and bitterness had preyed upon me continually for weeks and a deep languor(倦怠)had 45 this passionate struggle.Have you ever been at sea in a dense fog, when it seemed as if a tangible white darkness shut you in, and the great ship, tense and anxious, groped her way toward the shore with plummet(铅锤) and sounding—line(测深索), and you waited with beating heart for something to happen? I was like that 46 before my education began, only I was without 47 or sounding—line, and had no way of knowing how near the 48 was. "Light! Give me light!" was the wordless cry of my soul, and the light of love shone on me in that very hour.I felt approaching footsteps. I stretched out my hand as I would to my mother. Someone 49 it, and I was caught up and held close in the arms of her who had come to 50 all things to me, and more than all things else, to love me.The morning after my teacher came she led me into her room and gave me a doll. The little blind children at the Perkins Institution had sent it and Laura Bridgman had dressed it; but I did not know this until 51. When I had played with it a little while, Miss Sullivan slowly spelled into my hand the word "d—o—l—l." I was at once interested in this finger play and tried to 52 it. When I finally succeeded in making the letters correctly I 53 with childish pleasure and pride. Running downstairs to my mother I held up my hand and made the letters for doll. I did not know that I was spelling a word or even that words existed; I was simply making my fingers go in monkey—like imitation. In the days that followed I learned to spell in this 54 way a great manywords, among them pin, hat, cup and a few verbs like sit, stand and walk. But my teacher had been with me several weeks before I understood that everything has a 55.41. A. hesitant B. reluctant C. expectant D. defendant42. For each of them there are four choices marked A, B, C and D. Choose the one that fits best according to the information given in the passage you have just read.(A)In the villages of the English countryside there are still people who remember the good old days when no one bothered to lock their doors. There simply wasn't any crime to worry about.Amazingly, these happy times appear still to be with us in the world's biggest community. Anew study by Dan Farmer, a gifted programmer, using an automated investigative program of his own called SATAN, shows that the owners of well over half of all World Wide Web sites have setup home without fitting locks to their doors.SATAN can try out a variety of well—known hacking tricks on an Internet site without actually breaking in. Farmer has made program publicly available, amid much criticism. A person with evil intent could use it to hunt down sites that are easy to burgle. But Farmer is very concerned about the need to alert the public to poor security and, so far, events have proved him right. SATAN has done more to alert people to the risks than cause new disorder. So is the Net becoming more secure? Far from it. In the early days, when you visited a Website your browser simply looked at the content. Now the web is full of tiny programs that automatically download when you look at a Web page, and run on your own machine. These programs could, if their authors wished, do all kinds of nasty things to your computer. At the same time, the Net is increasingly populated with spiders, worms, agents, and other types of automated beasts designed to penetrate the sites and seek out and classify information. All these make wonderful tools for antisocial people who want to invade weak sites and cause damage. But let's look on the bright side. Given the lack of locks, the Internet is surely the world's biggest (almost) crime—free society. Maybe that is because hackers are fundamentally honest. Or that there currently isn't much to steal. Or because vandalism(蓄意破坏) isn't much fun unless youhave a peculiar dislike for someone.Whatever the reason, let's enjoy it while we can. But expect it all to change, and security to become the number one issue, when the most influential inhabitants of the Net are selling services they want to be paid for.56. By saying "...owners of well over half of all World Wide Web sites have set up home without fitting locks to their doors" (Lines 3—4, Para. 2), the author means that.A. those happy times appear still to be with usB. there simply wasn't any crime to worry aboutC. many sites are not well protectedD. hackers try out tricks on an Internet site without actually breaking in57. SATAN, a program designed by Dan Farmer, can be used.A. to investigate the security of Internet sitesB. to improve the security of the Internet systemC. to prevent hackers from breaking into websitesD. to download useful programs and information58. Farmer's program has been criticized by the public because.A. it causes damage to Net browsersB. it can break into Internet sitesC. it can be used to cause disorder on all sitesD. it can be used by people with evil intent59. The author suggests in the last paragraph that.A. we should make full use of the Internet before security measures are strengthenedB. we should alert the most influential businessmen to the importance of guaranteeing quality of their servicesC. influential businessmen should give priority to the improvement of Net securityD. net inhabitants should not let security measures affect their joy of surfing the Internet(B)The global energy crisis is approaching. What can we do? Here are some steps you can take. Cooling puts the greatest stress on your summer energy bill and the power grid. Just as a tune—up for your car can improve your gas mileage, a yearly tune—up of your heating and cooling system can improve efficiency and comfort. Clean or replace filter monthly or as needed. For central air conditioning systems and room air conditioners, look for the ENERGY STAR, the federal government's symbol for energy efficiency. For central air, purchase the system with the highest possible Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER).Use energy efficient ceiling fans either alone or with air conditioning. Ceiling fans do a great job of circulating air. When used with air conditioning, fans allow you to raise the thermostat and cut costs. Ceiling fans cool people, not rooms, so before you leave, turn off the ceiling fan.Let a programmable thermostat "remember for you" to automatically adjust the indoor climate with your daily and weekend patterns to reduce cooling bills by up to 10 percent. You can come home to a comfortable house without wasting energy and creating pollution all day while you are at work.Try to make your home airtight enough to increase your comfort, make your home quieter and cleaner and reduce your cooling costs up to 20 percent.Cut your air conditioning load, and reduce pollution by planting leafy trees around your home and fixing reflective bricks on your roof.Close blinds or shades on south—and west—facing windows during the day, or fix shading equipment to avoid heat build—up.Turn off everything not in use: lights. TVs, computers. And use fluorescent bulbs, whichprovide bright, warm light while using at least two—thirds less energy, producing 70 percent less heat and lasting up to 10 times longer than incandescent bulbs.Drive the car that gets better gas mileage whenever possible if you own more than one vehicle. If you drive 12,500 miles a year, switching 10 percent of your trips from a car that gets 20miles per gallon to one that gets 30 mpg will save you more than 65 per year.Carpool. The average U. S. commuter could save about 260 a year by sharing cars twice a week with two other people in a car that gets 20.1 mpg—assuming the three passengers share the cost of gas.60. According to the passage, the thermostat is used to.A. make rooms quieterB. control room temperatureC. turn off the air conditionerD. reduce room air pollution61. We can conclude from the passage that the author probably discourages.A. planting leafy trees around your homeB. turning off the ceiling fan before you leave your houseC. keeping your south—facing windows open during the dayD. using fluorescent bulbs instead of incandescent bulbs62. According to the passage, you can save fuel by.A. using energy—efficient ceiling fansB. sharing cars with others on workdaysC. turning off everything not in useD. reducing 10% of your car trips every year(C)Discoveries in science and technology are thought by "untaught minds" to come in blinding flashes or as the result of dramatic accidents. Sir Alexander Fleming did not, as legend would have it, look at the mold(霉) pm a piece of cheese and get the idea for penicillin there and then. He experimented with antibacterial substances for nine years before he made his discovery.Inventions and innovations almost always come out of tough trial and error. Innovation is like soccer; even the best players miss the goal and have their shots blocked much more frequently than they score. The point is that the players who score most are the ones who take most shots at the goal —and so it goes with innovation in any field of activity. The prime difference between innovation and others is one of approach. Everybody gets ideas, but innovators work consciously on theirs, and they follow them through until they prove practicable or otherwise. What ordinary people see as fanciful abstractions, professional innovators see as solid possibilities."Creative thinking may mean simply the realization that there's no particular goodness in doing things the way they have always been done." Wrote Rudolph Flesch, a language authority. This accounts for our reaction to seemingly simple innovations like plastic garbage bags and suitcases on wheels that make life more convenient: "How come nobody thought of that before?"The creative approach begins with the proposal that nothing be as it appears. Innovators will not accept that there is only one way to do anything. Faced with getting from A to B, the average person will automatically set out on the best—known and apparently simplest route. The innovator will search for altemate courses, which may prove easier in the long run and are sure to be more interesting and challenging even if they lead to dead ends. Highly creative individuals really to march to a different drummer.63. What does the author probably mean by "untaught mind" in the first paragraph?A. An individual who often comes up with new ideas by accident.B. A person who has had no education.C. A citizen of a society that restricts personal creativity.D. A person ignorant of the hard work involved in experimentation.64. According to the author, what differs innovators from non—innovators?A. The way they present their findings.B. The way they deal with problems.C. The intelligence they possess.D. The variety of ideas they have.65. The phrase "march to a different drummer" (the last line of the passage) suggests that highly creative individuals are.A. unwilling to follow common ways of doing thingsB. diligent in pursuing their goalsC. concerned about the advance of societyD. devoted to the progress of science66. The most suitable title for this passage might be.A. The Relation Between Creation and DiligenceB. To Be a Creative Expert in the Study of Human CreativityC. What Are So Special about Creative IndividualsD. Discoveries and InnovationSection CDirections: Read the passage carefully. Fill in each blank with a proper sentence given in the box.employees only for classes that are relevant to their positions. 67 A company that reimburses employees for all college credit courses — whether job related or not —offers a service not only to the employees, but to the entire company. One good reason for giving employees unconditional tuition reimbursement is that it shows the company's dedication to its employees and it is important for a company to demonstrate to its employees that it cares. The best way to do this is to make investments in them.68 A company that puts out funds to pay for the education of its employees will get its money back by having employees stay with the company longer. It will reduce employ turnover, because even employees who don't take advantage of tuition reimbursement programs will be more devoted to their company, just knowing that their company cares enough to pay for their education.Although companies do indeed run the risk of losing money on employees, who go on to another job in a different company as soon as they get their degree, more often than not, the employees will stay with the company. 69 Thus, throughout those years. the employer will have a more sophisticated, more intelligent, and therefore more valuable and productive employee. And, if the employee stays, that education will doubly benefit the company: Not only is the employee more educated, but now that employee can be promoted so the company doesn't have to full a high—level vacancy from the outside. 70Though unconditional tuition reimbursement requires a significant investment on the employer's part, it is perhaps one of the wisest investments a company can make.IV. Reading and WritingDirections: Read the following three passages. Summarize the main idea and the main point(s) of the passage in no more than 60 words. Use your own words as far as possible. Write your answer on the answer sheet. Are your children getting on your last nerve? Did a coworker's comment rub you the wrong way? There's no need to plug the steam coming out of your ears. In fact, science now gives you full permission to release those emotions; you might actually be happier for it. If that seems counter—intuitive(违反直觉的), hear us out. A new study suggests that people tend to be happier if they can feel and express emotions as they want. That goes for unpleasant emotions like anger and hatred, too.An international team of researchers recruited 2,300 university students from the United States, Brazil, China, Germany, Ghana, Israel, Poland, and Singapore. They then asked the participants to tell them which emotions they desired and which ones they actually felt, and then compared those responses to how the participants rated their overall happiness or life satisfaction. The results showed an interesting trend. While participants wanted to experience more pleasant emotions, they reported higher life satisfaction if the emotions they experienced matched those they desired. More surprising still, 11 percent of people wanted to feel less of positive emotions, such as love and empathy, and 10 percent of people wanted to feel more negative emotions, such as hatred and anger. At first glance, these result might seem confusing. But there's a simple explanation, according to the study's authors. Happiness is "more than simply feeling pleasure and avoiding pain," they write. It is also learning to release negative emotions when you feel them, instead of ignoring them or bottling them up."If you feel emotions you want to feel, even if they're unpleasant, then you're better off," lead researcher Dr Maya Tamir from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem told the BBC News website.71V. TranslationDirections: Translate the following sentences into English, using the words given in the brackets.72. When in the right field during P. E. as a boy, I prayed the ball wouldn’t come to me. It took a miracle(奇迹)for me to catch it. Yet I later became the father of two boys, Will and Tim(8 and5), who were both interested in baseball. On Saturday mornings, I’d take Will out to the playground and play catch with him. Thanks to my weak arm, the ball dropped before he could catch it. After many misses one day, he said, “How am I ever going to make the major leagues?” “You got the wrong dad, kid,” I thought. Baseball isn’t my thing.Still, I wanted to give my kids confidence on the field. There was an official Little League in our area, but it was super-competitive and primarily targeted older boys. What if we had something more low-key, something that welcomed boys and girls, and younger ones?I shared the idea with some neighbors. “That would be great!” they said. Now who could organize such a thing? Not me. I tried to put the idea aside, but it wouldn’t leave me. I finally decided that I must do something about it, So I called the city’s recreation department, explaining that some families wanted to start a baseball league in our neighborhood. Were there any fields for that? They bounced me around. Finally, I spoke to the official in charge. I got butterflies in my stomach. What if he said no? “Yes, we have something for you,” the man said, hearing my request. We got two fields for four hours every Sunday morning. Our league was founded. What a joy it was to sit on the benches, watching Will and Tim playing baseball! How grateful I was for other parents who did the coaching! And I became the most unlikely baseball commissioner(专员)ever. Many years have passed. Now Will and Tim are new dads, and I can’t wait to see what they’ll have to do. I know better than anyone: Parenthood calls you to do the most unlikely things.4.Why did the author think his son Will got the wrong father?A.He lacked confidence.B.He had poor baseball skills.C.He had little energy or time.D.He didn’t know Will’s dream.5.What special feature did the author expect the baseball league had?A.Being easy to join.B.Having its own fields.C.Focusing on training kids.D.Having professional coaches.6.How did the author probably feel while talking to the official?A.Confident.B.Peaceful.C.Nervous.D.Hesitant.7.What does the author want to stress in the text?A.The need to challenge oneself.B.The greatness of parental love.C.The responsibility of parenthood.D.The role of sports in kids’ growth.CIs forgiveness against our human nature? To answer our question, we need to ask a further question: What isthe essence of our humanity? For the sake of simplicity, people consider two distinctly different views of humanity. The first view involves dominance and power. In an early paper on the psychology of forgiveness, Droll(1984)made the interesting claim that humans’ essential nature is more aggressive than forgiving allows. Those who forgive are against their basic nature, much to their harm. In his opinion, forgivers are compromising their well-being as they offer mercy to others, who might then take advantage of them. The second view involves the theme of cooperation, mutual respect, and even love as the basis of who we are as humans. Researchers find that to fully grow as human beings, we need both to receive love from and offer love to others. Without love, our connections with a wide range of individuals in our lives can fall apart. Even common sense strongly suggests that the will to power over others does not make for harmonious interactions. For example, how well has slavery worked as a mode of social harmony? From this second viewpoint of who we are as humans, forgiveness plays a key role in the biological and psychological integrity of both individuals and communities because one of the outcomes of forgiveness, shown through scientific studies, is the decreasing of hatred and the restoration of harmony. Forgiveness can break the cycle of anger. At least to the extent the people from whom you are estranged accept your love and forgiveness and are prepared to make the required adjustments. Forgiveness can heal relationships and reconnect people. As an important note, when we take a Classical philosophical perspective, that of Aristotle, we see the distinction between potentiality and actuality. We are not necessarily born with the capacity to forgive, but instead with the potential to learn about it and to grow in our ability to forgive. The actuality of forgiving, its actual appropriation in conflict situations, develops with practice.8.What is Droll’s idea about forgiveness?A.People should offer mercy to others.B.People who forgive can have their own welfare affected.C.Forgiveness depends on the nature of humanity.D.Aggressive people should learn to forgive.9.What does the example in Paragraph 2 illustrate?A.To forgive is to love.B.To fight is to grow.C.To dominate is to harm.D.To give is to receive.10.What is the writer’s attitude toward forgiveness?A.Objective.B.Reserved.C.Favorable.D.Skeptical. 11.What is message of the last paragraph?A.Forgiveness is in our nature.B.Forgiveness grows with time.C.Actuality is based on potentiality.D.It takes practice to forgive.DMinimizing the environmental damage that new roads cause is generally regarded as a good thing. But to do that, it helps to understand just how new roads cause the damage of which they are accused. Recently, a group of researchers led by Dr. Gonzalez conducted an experiment and proved that immigration is good for the health of animal populations. A road destroys only a small part of the habitat, thus destroying just a few local population s of creatures. So the argument that road-building itself is bad for biodiversity is not self-evidently correct. Those whonevertheless hold this view say that apparently separate local populations of animals are, in fact, parts of much larger populations connected via migration.According to this theory, when a local population struggles to move about —because of an epidemic, for example — individuals from neighboring communities can fill the gaps. The implications of the theory are straightforward. Cut local populations off from each other and each is more likely to disappear. And roads are good at doing just that. Testing the theory with experimental roads, however, would be expensive. Dr. Gonzalez’s brainwave was to do the whole thing on a much smaller scale. The team studied moss-covered rocks. On some rocks the researchers left the moss untouched; on others they made “roadways” across to leave the moss isolated. After waiting six months, they found that in the disturbed habitats nearly all the bug population had declined compared with undisturbed moss, and 40% of the species had become extinct. The real test came in the second part of the experiment. In this, the researchers removed moss much as before, but they left narrow moss paths to bridge the no-bug’s-land between islands. The islands with bridges did far better than isolated islands —a result that supports the notion that population exchange is necessary to keep an ecosystem healthy.Whether these results can be translated to large-scale ecosystems remains uncertain. But if they can, they would cause more, not less, concern about the ecological effects of road-building. On the other hand, they also suggest a way out. In Britain, tunnels are often built under roads for animals of regular habits, such as badgers(獾), to be able to travel their traditional routes without having to fight with traffic. Extending that principle, perhaps special bridge s might be a cheap way of letting man and nature rub along a bit better.12.What’s the main idea of the passage?A.Calling on us to stop building roads for a healthy ecosystem.B.Warning us of potential dangers of animal immigration.C.Informing us of the environmental damage caused by new roads.D.Suggesting a new way to avoid the damage caused by new roads.13.Dr. Gonzalez’s experiment found that ______.A.building roads is expensiveB.immigration is good for animalsC.roads cut off animal immigrationD.tunnels should be built under roads14.How does the author present his point?A.By analyzing facts.B.By giving examples.C.By providing scientific findings.D.By comparing possible effects.15.According to the passage, which of the following statements will the writer agree with?A.The impact of road-building is not as serious as we thought.B.Road-building is beneficial to animal immigration.C.Environmental damage caused by road-building is still uncertain.D.Environmental damage caused by road-building might be lessened.

The Most Beautiful Train Stations in the WorldTokyo Station Marunouchi BuildingThe wide-open entrance square on the Marunouchi side of Tokyo’s main train station would look more at home in Amsterdam or Paris. Kingo Tatsuno’s classical European design took over six years to complete, finally opening in 1914. The statin has received several facelifts since the Second World War, most recently in 2012. It’s one of the biggest and busiest train stations in the world.Beijing West Railway StationThe idea of building this station in the capital of China was put forward as early as 1959 but didn’t come to reality until 1996. It was the largest station in Asia at the time, although Shanghai’s Hongqiao Station has since surpassed it. The station itself has a unique architectural (建筑的) style, with the main body of the building having quite a functional Russian look, but the rooftop is decorated with three amazing Chinese pagodas.Duoliang Station, TaiwanThis is the smallest station on this lit by a distance. In fact we’re not really choosing Duoliang for architectural reasons. This station is all about location, location, location. Surrounded by hi top greenery on one side and amazing Pacific Ocean scenery on the other, it’s one of the most scenic spots in all of Taiwan. This isn’t even a working station anymore, but the platforms have been adapted into viewing spots, extremely popular with local train spotters.Stazione Milano Centrale in MilanMilan’s central train station looks pretty much exactly as you’d imagine it. There are a mix of styles at play here, from Art Nouveau to Art Deco, but the entire building is filled with a classic sense of Roman monumentality. The outer look is guarded by two statues, while its insides are equally impressive, as grand stonewalls curve (弯曲) into the station’s glass ceilings.1.What do Tokyo Station and Beijing West Railway Station have in common?A.Both have European features.B.Both were built in the early 1990s.C.Both have been rebuilt several times.D.Both are the largest domestic stations.2.What do train spotters favor most about Duoliang Station?A.Its distance.B.Its small size.C.Its surrounding scenery.D.Its architectural style.3.What makes Stazione Milano Centrale impressive?A.Roman buildings B.Its various styles.C.Statues on the walls D.The curving ceilings. It all started with a simple question: “Can I paint your portrait?”One day in the summer of 2015, Peterson was relaxing in his living room, reading the book Love Does, about the power of love in action, when his quiet was disturbed by a homeless man outside his apartment. Inspired by the book’s compassionate message, Peterson made a decision; he was going to go outside and introduce himself. In that first conversation, Peterson learned that the man’s name was Matt Faris. He’d moved to Southern California from Kentucky to pursue a career in music, but he soon fell on hard times and ended up living on the street for more than a decade. “I saw beauty on the face of a man who hadn’t shaved in probably a year, because his story, the life inside of him, inspired me,” Peterson recalled. Therefore, Peterson asked if he could paint Faris’ portrait. Faris agreed.Peterson’s connection with Faris led him to form Faces of Santa Ana, a nonprofit organization focused on befriending and painting portraits of members of the community who are unhoused. Peterson sells the paintings for money, splitting the proceeds and putting half into a “love account” for his model. He then helps people use the money to get back on their feet. Many of Peterson’s new friends use the donations to secure immediate necessities — medical care, hotel rooms, food. Faris used the funds from his portrait to record an album, fulfilling his musical dreams. Another subject, Kimberly Sondoval, had never been able to financially support her daughter. She asked, “Can I use the money to pay my daughter’s rent?” When the check was delivered, “They both wept in my arms,” Peterson recalls.Peterson has painted 41 of these portraits himself. But there’s more to the finished productsthan the money they bring to someone who’s down and out. He’s discovered that the buyers tend to connect to the story of the person in the painting, finding similarities and often friendship with someone they might have otherwise overlooked or stereotyped.“People often tell me, ‘I was the one that would cross the street, but I see homeless people differently now,” Peterson says. “I didn’t know that would happen.”4.What made Peterson start a conversation?A.The curiosity about strangers.B.The touching story of Matt Faris.C.The disturbance by a homeless man.D.The sympathetic message in Love Does. 5.What do we know about Faces of Santa Ana?A.It pays the homeless salaries.B.It is an official nonprofit organization.C.It tries to restore the lives of Peterson’s models.D.It spends all the money on helping the unhoused.6.What does the underlined phrase “get back on their feet” in Paragraph 4 mean?A.regain their financial stability and independence B.physically recover from an injury C.become more self-confident D.return to their original home7.How might a buyer view the homeless after buying a portrait?A.lazy and poor B.odd but inspiringC.disturbing and untidy D.pitiful but respectableIs forgiveness against our human nature? 11.What is message of the last paragraph?A.Forgiveness is in our nature.B.Forgiveness grows with time.C.Actuality is based on potentiality.D.It takes practice to forgive.Do you have a brain for math? New research indicates that levels of two key neurotransmitters (脑神经传递素) — glutamate (谷氨酸) and gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)can predict mathematical abilities, suggesting brain chemistry may be playing a role in those who find math easy. The new study, published in the journal PLOS Biology, recruited 255 subjects extending a range of six-year olds in primary school to university students. The research focused on glutamate and GABA, known to play a role in brain plasticity (可塑性) and learning. Based on prior research, the focus was on two brain regions linked with mathematical abilities — the left intraparietal sulcus (IPS 顶叶内沟) and the left middle frontal gyrus (MFG 脑额中回).The results were interestingly different. In the youngest subjects high GABA levels and low glutamate levels in the left IPS were consistently associated with high math skills. But in the older university group the exact opposite was seen: low GABA and high glutamate were linked with strong mathematical abilities. Levels of both neurotransmitters in the MFG did not associate with math skills. The group was tested twice over 18 months, allowing the researchers to see if these neurotransmitter levels could predict mathematical ability into the future. And it worked, with neurotransmitter levels effectively predicting one’s success on math tests completed a year and a half later.Another recent study from the same research team looked specifically at GABA levels in MFG of 14 to 18 year olds. That research indicated MFG GABA levels could effectively predict whether a student was still studying maths or had ceased that subject years prior.Cohen Kadosh, one of the researchers working on the study, says this may indicate math education can help stimulate the development of key brain regions. Further research will work on whether certain learning interventions can help those children less interested in math so these brain regions still get the developmental workout they need.“Not every adolescent enjoys maths so we need to investigate possible alternatives, such as training in logic and reasoning that engage the same brain area as maths,” says Cohen Kadosh. 12.What is the new study aimed at?A.Exploring mental development of the subjects.B.Finding the tie between brain chemistry and math.C.Testing the link between brain regions.D.Revealing the structure of brain.13.What can be learned from the findings?A.The levels of GABA decide one’s math skills.B.Low MFG glutamate means poor math ability.C.Neurotransmitters in the MFG affect math skills.D.Math education may help with brain development.14.What can better math education according to Cohen Kadosh?A.Studying more possible options.B.Tracing slow learners’ early learning.C.Training math learners respectively.D.Developing key relevant brain areas.15.What can be the best title of the text?A.Factors Affecting Math SkillsB.Ways to Promote Math EducationC.Brain Activities Involved in Math StudyD.Math Ability Predicted by NeurotransmittersEveryone knows that early to bed and early to rise is good for your health. Having maintained adequate sleep, people can keep themselves refreshed and dynamic. 16 Here are some steps to take to become a morning person on a freezing day.Seek out as much natural light as possible. 17 When you wake up, go outside for a relaxed walk around the block, or sit out back while you have a cup of coffee. To avoid being in a sleep state all along, you’d better rethink the black-out curtains you might use to make a very dark sleeping environment.18 If you fly straight into getting up at your desired time every day, you’ll feel tired during the transition within a few weeks. For some people, those first few days of exhaustion from switching to a new schedule aren’t safe and hard to bear. In that case, gradually ease into the early-bird life. They are supposed to shift half an hour, wait a few days, shift another half an hour, wait a few days, and then shift another half an hour. 19De-stress and relax in the evenings. A consistent bedtime isn’t as crucial as sticking to the same wake up time every day, but it’s still important to make sure you’re getting enough sleep.20 So you’ll probably need to inch your bedtime forward as you transition to a new schedule. Start at least an hour before you hit the bed and cut back on stuff related to daily life. With all these tips, you’re not dreading it if you think of getting up early on a chilly winter. A.Cultivate the habit gradually.B.That’s a little easier for people to tolerate.C.The sun is the driver of our internal clock.D.Get rid of the previous sleep patterns instantly.E.Therefore, developing a healthy sleeping habit is of great significance.F.Without sufficient hours of sleep, the mind and body can’t properly recharge. G.However, it usually takes a lot of willpower to get out of bed early on a winter’s day.二、完形填空I know next to nothing about baseball. When in the field during P. AThe words “timetable” and “schedule” make most final year students want to eat their own vomit(呕吐物). Unfortunately, the harsh reality is that final year students must develop a timetable. If you don’t have a schedule or plan for studying ,you will have no way of allocating your valuable time when the unexpected arises. A well-thought-out timetable can be a lifesaver . It is up to you to learn how to develop a schedule that meets your needs .Change it if necessary ,but most important ,follow it . All timetables should be made with the idea that they can be changed. A good one will keep you from wandering off course.A good timetable should make every hour count—every class ,social event and other activity you engage in .You must focus on the other “free time” available and how you will use it .Make a weekly schedule and divided each day into one-hour increments. Indicate times for classes ,socializing ,and work time. Also block off a period for sleeping every day. In the precious hours left over ,plan time for study .This givesyou a rough road map of the time available. Of course ,you can change your schedule as circumstances need. The timetable you develop should guide you in how to distribute the available time in the most productive manner .Sticking to your schedule can be tough ,but don’t dribble away valuable time. Avoiding study is the easiest thing in the world .It is up to you to follow the schedule yo u’ve prepared .A good deal of your success in high school and with any future study depends on this simple truth.Remember ,there is a learning curve. You learn the most in the first 30 minutes of study; after that ,it progressively deteriorates(减弱). After four or five hours of studying the same material in the same way, you are learning virtually nothing. The solution is to keep switching subjects and study styles.21.What is the best title of the passage?A.Advantages of starting a timetable B.Keep to it , and you will succeed C.Make a schedule ,and follow it D.Learn to love your timetable22.What does Paragraph 2 talk about?A.Tips for making a schedule B.Significance of a scientific timetable C.Requirements for making a timetable D.Import ance of following one’s schedule 23.The following are characteristics of a good timetable EXCEPT that ________. A.it can be changed B.it is flexibleC.it is of many periods D.it can save our timeBAn idea that started in Seattle's public library has spread throughout America and beyond. The concept is simple: help to build a sense of community in a city by getting everyone to read the same book at the same time.In addition to encouraging reading as a pursuit (追求) to be enjoyed by all, the program allows strangers to communicate by discussing the book on the bus, as well as promoting reading as an experience to be shared in families and schools. The idea came from Seattle librarian Nancy Pearl who launched (发起)the "If All of Seattle Read the Same Book " project in 1998. Her original program used author visits, studyguides and book discussion groups to bring people together with a book, but the idea has since expanded to many other American cities, and even to Hong kong.In Chicago, the mayor(市长)appeared on television to announce the choice of To Kill a Mockingbird as the first book in the "One Book, One Chicago" program. As a result, reading clubs and neighborhood groups sprang up around the city. Across the US, stories emerged of parents and children reading to each other at night and strangers chatting away on the bus about plot and character. The only problem arose in New York , where local readers could not decide on one book to represent the huge and diverse population. This may show that the idea works best in medium-sized cities or large towns, where a greater sense of unity(一致)can be achieved .Or it may show that New Yorkers rather missed the point, putting all their energy. And passion into the choice of the book rather than discussion about a book itself. Ultimate was Nancy points out, the level of success is not measured by how many people read a book, but by how many people are enriched by the process. Or have enjoyed speaking to someone with whom they would not otherwise have shared a word.24. What is the purpose of the project launched by Nancy?A. To invite authors to guide readers.B. To encourage people to read and share.C. To involve people in community service.D. To promote the friendship between cities.25. Why was it difficult for New Yorkers to carry out the project?A. They had little interest in reading.B. They were too busy to read a book.C. They came from many different backgroundsD. They lacked support from the locate government26. According to the passage, where would the project be more easily carried out?A. In large communities with little sense of unityB. In large cities where libraries are far from homeC. In medium-sized cities with a diverse populationD. In large towns where agreement can be quickly reached27.The underlined words “shared a word”in Paragraph 5 probably mean _________.A. exchanged ideas with each otherB. discussed the meaning of a wordC. gamed life experienceD. used the same languageCLONDON Thursday July 26 (Reuters) — Eddy missed his girlfriend so much he flew back to Britain from Australia to propose(求婚)to her. Anna had a good time touring Sydney with Eddy.D. Anna stayed in Australia waiting for Eddy’s arrival.DMost people agree that honesty is a good thing. But does Mother Nature agree? Animals can't talk, but can they lie in other ways? Can they lie with their bodies and behavior? Animal experts may not call it lying, but they do agree that many animals, from birds to chimpanzees, behave dishonestly to fool other animals. Why? Dishonesty often helps them survive. Many kinds of birds are very successful at fooling other animals. For example, a bird called the plover sometimes pretends to be hurt in order to protect its young. When a predator(猎食动物)gets close to its nest, the plover leads the predator away from the nest. How? It pretends to have a broken wing. The predator follows the "hurt" adult, leaving the baby birds safe in the nest.Another kind of bird, the scrub jay, buries its food so it always has something to eat. Scrub jays are also thieves. They watch where others bury their food and steal it. But clever scrub jays seem to know when a thief is watching them. So they go back later, unbury the food, and bury it again somewhere else.Birds called cuckoos have found a way to have babies without doing much work. How? They don't make nes ts(鸟巢). Instead, they get into o ther birds' nests secretly. Then they lay their eggs and fly away. When the baby birds come out, their adoptive(收养的) parents feed them.Chimpanzees, or chimps, can also be sneaky. After a fight, the losing chimp will give its hand to the other. When the winning chimp puts out its hand, too, the chimps are friendly again. But an animal expert once saw a losing chimp take the winner's hand and start fighting again.Chimps are sneaky in other ways, too. When chimps find food that they love, such as bananas, it is natural for them to cry out. Then other chimps come running. But some clever chimps learn to cry very softly when they find food. That way, other chimps don't hear them, and they don't need to share their food.As children, many of us learn the saying "You can't fool Mother Nature." But maybe you can't trust her, either.32. A plover protects its young from a predator by______.A. getting closer to its youngB. driving away the adult predatorC. leaving its young in another nestD. pretending to be injured33. By "Chimpanzees, or chimps, can also be sneaky" (paragraph 5), the author means______.A. chimps are ready to attack othersB. chimps are sometimes dishonestC. chimps are jealous of the winnersD. chimps can be selfish too34. Which of the following is true according to the passage?A. Cuckoos fool their adoptive parents by making no nests.B. The losing chimp won the fight by taking the winner's hand.C. Some chimps lower their cry to keep food away from others.D. Some clever scrub jays often steal their food back.35. Which of the following might be the best title of the passage?A. Do animals lie?B. Does Mother Nat ure fool animals?C. How do animals learn to lie?D. How does honesty help animals survive?第二节 (共5小题; 每小题2分, 满分10 分)根据短文内容, 从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。
