China traffic jam

There is no doubt that traffic congestion has long been a problem of great concern and complaint in big cities.（Topic Sentence）Some major roads argularly choked with traffic in rush hours.The limited transport capacity contributes largely to the vexing problem.It has caused a lot of inconvenience to people's life and work.For example,people have to set off well in advance to get to work on time and come back very late when their work is over.There are many causes for this problem,but the following may be the most important ones.The first cause is the great increase in the number of private cars.Cars take up more space but they carry fewer people.Some private car drivers,ignoring traffic regulations,drive only for the sake of their own convenience,blocking the way of other public transportation vehicles.The second cause is the slow and inefficient construction and improvement of the roads and streets.

The existing solutions to traffic jam mainly aim at creating metro bus system sand broadening major roads.（Topic Sentence）Firstly of all，Widening the existing roads can solve traffic snarls on some level.（argument 1）Soaring car ownership compounds the chronic annoying problem,so we must sharply reduce the heavy reliance on cars and drive a shift to the mass transportation.It is a cheap and good way.Secondly，We can create a system of customized bus routes and highlight the development of subways,trolleys and light rail.（argument 2）The effective combination of these solutions will enable the urban areas to possess a smooth traffic.

As the traffic problem involves many factors, there is no single measure that can solve it once for all.（Topic Sentence）For the present, realistic solutions may include: first and for most, we should give priority to improving and developing mass-transit system, both ground and underground; Secondly, the authority should set up proper limits to private vehicles; Thirdly, the related regulations should be made to ensure perfect traffic management; Last but not the least is to advocate bicycling or walking between home and office. I believe by these effective measures, the traffic problem will be solved sooner or later.
