·基本用法

seem用作系动词，表示“似乎；好像”。常用于“seem(to be) +形容词/名词/介词/过去分词/动名词”结构中。（过去式: seemed 过去分词: seemed 现在分词: seeming 第三人称单数: seems）

The girl seems happy today.

这个女孩今天似乎很高兴。

seem 可构成以下结构：

1. seem to do sth. 似乎要；好像要

He seems to think so.

他似乎认为如此。

2. seem like … 看起来像……

He seems like a doctor.

他看起来像医生。

3. It seems that/as if 似乎，看起来。如：

It seems that he is sad.

look/seem/appear

这些动词均有“看起来，好像是”之意。

appear: 指从感观印象看似乎是如此，但有时着重指因视野、观点限制而产生的歪曲印象。

look: 指从样子看起来，侧重通过视觉而建立的印象。

seem: 多指从主观印象或个反应得出的看法。

·基本用法

1. point n.点；论点；重点。如：

That is my point.

那是我的论点。

There are three points in this lesson.

2. point v. 指，指向，可用于point to/point at/point out词组中，区别主要是：

(1) point to 多指较远距离的事物，to着重于指方向，主语既可以是人，也可以是物。

He pointed to the house on the corner and said, “That’s where I live. ”

他指着拐角处的房子说：“我就住在那里。”

(2) point at 多指向较近距离的事物，at着重于指的对象，其主语通常是人；但 point...at是“瞄准……”

之意。

He was talking while pointing at the map.

(3) point out 是“指出……”之意，out是副词。

·基本用法

prep./conj. 到……为止，可以连接名词及从句等。

We didn’t notice this matter until yesterday. （用作介词）

直到昨天我们才注意到这件事。

We didn't notice this matter until he mentioned it to us. （用作连词）

直到他跟我们说，我们才注意到这件事。

not … until意为“直到……才……”。

You mustn’t eat anything until you see the doctor.

看过医生之后，你才能吃东西。

Don’t get off the bus until it has stopped.

车停稳了以后再下车。
