“Leader standard work” for all-levels leaders should match/support each other. » Don’t: simply contain all of the daily and weekly actions that you are currently performing. » Don’t: build in non value added activities into your leader standard work. » Do: Only highlight the actions that you are taking to audit and improve processes. » Do: be visible – on paper.

What should be included in Leader Standard Work?
Some of the elements to think about when developing your Leader Standard Work: • A3 Reviews as part of strategy deployment • Time for reflection (stepping on the balcony as leader) • Customer visits to really understand our customer needs • MDI meetings (own department, RLT, GLT, Regional MDI, Townhall, etc.) • GPS • Monthly (one-to-one) coaching that goes with it • LDR process • Recognition / celebration of team efforts • AOP process • Safety observations • Kaizen report outs • Leading and attending kaizen • 5S (audits and coaching) • Reflection on our own Leader Standard Work • Dialogue about Leader Standard Work with (direct) reports • Gemba walks (could be combined with coaching reports!!!) • Values and Ethics (call/meeting) • Departmental meeting • Meetings with other regions / divisions / SMC / corporate (call our physical meeting)
