On the one hand, I would like to admit that this statement, although suffers from some obvious drawbacks, has some merit primarily in some special cases in which the implicit rationale behind it accords with common sense and our experience in daily life. The primary reason for my view rests on the undeniable fact that history is replete with evidence of R1. Notables ranging from X to Y come immediately to mind.
