形容词的比较级和最高级
大多数形容词有原级、比较级和最高级三种形式。

1.两者比较用比较级，三者或以上比较用最高级。

有than往往用比较级，有of/in往往用最高级。

（必须同
类事物做比较）
Tom is shorter than Simon.
Tom is the shortest of all the boys/in his class.
2.比较级和最高级的构成
(1) 直接加er和est clean – cleaner – cleanest
cheap – cheaper – cheapest
(2)以e结尾加 r 和st cute – cuter –cutest
nice – nicer – nicest late – later –latest
(3)以辅音字母+y 结尾，去y+ier和iest
healthy – healthier – healthiest

3.比较级的用法
(1) Which…+比较级，…or…表示在两者中进行选择
Which is bigger, the sun or the moon?
(2) 在比较级前可加a little / much / even / a lot / far等表程度的词 China is much larger than Japan.
(3) 比较级+ and + 比较级表示“越来越…”
越来越大/苗条bigger and bigger / slimmer and slimmer
越来越好/差 better and better / worse and worse
越来越有趣/危险/重要/幽默/精彩
more and more interesting /dangerous / important / humorous / wonderful
(4) the + 比较级， the +比较级表示“越…，越…”
The more, the better. 越多越好。

(5) the + 比较级+ of the two表示“两者中比较…的一个”
He is the taller of the two boys.

4.最高级的用法
(1) 最高级前要加the，除非有形容词性物主代词和名词所有格等修饰 He is the best teacher. He is our best teacher.
(2) 用序数词修饰形容词的最高级表示“第几…”从第二开始
He is the tallest boy in our class.
(3) one of+the/one’s+形容词的最高级+名词复数
“最…的…之一”
This is one of the most interesting stories.
She is one of my best friends.
5.比较级和最高级互相转换
the + 最高级+名词单数+of/in短语
=比较级+than + any other + 名词单数 +of/in短语

=Shanghai is bigger than the other cities in China.

6.上海比江苏/浙江任何一个城市大。
