I remember a funny story that happened in my English class last semester. Our teacher, Ms. Johnson, was trying to explain the meaning of the idiom "the ball is in your court." She asked the class if anyone knew what it meant, and I raised my hand confidently. I explained that it meant you were in control of the situation and it was your turn to make a decision or take action.Ms. Johnson smiled and said, "Very good! Can you give us an example of when you might use this idiom?"I thought for a moment and then said, "Well, let's say you're playing tennis with a friend and they hit the ball over to your side. The ball is in your court now, so you have to hit it back."Everyone in the class laughed, including Ms. Johnson. She said, "That's a perfect example! Thank you for sharing."

Look,apanda!

Head and shoulders knees and toes …”

Ladies and gentlemen,Welcome to this public speaking event, where I would like to present to you a heart-warming story about an English class that I had experienced in my school days. It was a day that I would never forget, as it touched my heart and taught me a valuable lesson that I would cherish for the rest of my life.It was the winter of 2008, and I was a ninth-grade student at a local high school. I wasn't particularly fond of English courses, but it was a mandatory subject, and I had no choice but to attend the class. However, that day, the teacher had planned something entirely different. As soon as we entered the class, we could feel an unfamiliar atmosphere. The teacher was smiling, which was a rare sight, and she had a sparkle in her eyes that seemed to be saying that something incredible was about to happen. She introduced a new teaching method, which included storytelling and sharing of personal experiences. At first, we were skeptical, but as the teacher startedto narrate her story, we were drawn into it. She shared her experience of how she had struggled with speech impediments during her childhood. How she overcame these challenges, and how much this language had given her over the years. With each word, her voice became firmer, and her eyes sparkled more and more, with a strong sense of emotion and enthusiasm. It was at that moment that we realized the powerof language. We began to understand how these words were not just lessons in grammar and vocabulary but interconnected stories that had shaped our own lives. After that, one by one, students began to share their stories, their personal experiences with the language. Some talked about how they learned English from their grandparents, while others shared their struggles to communicate with their peers at school. But the beauty of it all was that we all listened to each other, without judging or criticizing, and each story added to the collective experience. This English class had become something more than just academic learning; it became a space where we shared ouremotions, connected with each other and learned how to empathize with those around us.In conclusion, that winter day, I realized the true power of storytelling and its ability to connect us on a deeply personal level. This experience had taught me that learning a language does not just involve memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules but also involves understanding the stories of those who speak it. It was a valuable lesson that I still carry with me to this day, as I believe that each story has significance, and when we listen to them, we become more compassionate, more empathetic, and more understanding of the world around us.Thank you all for listening to my story, and I hope that it will inspire you to value the humanity in language learning.。

They throw more than 240,000 pounds of tomatoes at each other. The streets are flooded with tomato juice, seeds, and skins. The actual tomato throwing starts at 11am and stops at 1pm. Whatever the real reason for the first tomato war, one thing's for sure: these days people need no excuse to throw tomatoes at each other, they do it just for fun!

在一节英语课上,教学内容是What are you doing?

我转向其他学生问道:“Who can help him?马上有同学举手做答:“He is drawing.”我请B同学说:“I’m drawing.”

Dear teachers and fellow students,I am very pleased to share with you my personal experience of a humorous and unforgettable English class story. As we all know, English is a very important subject in our academic life, but sometimes, it may seem too serious and boring to us. However, in my case, it was the complete opposite; it was an interesting and fun way of learning! It all happened on a regular Monday morning when our English teacher, Mr. Williams, walked into the classroom with an excited expression on his face. He greeted us and announced that we would be learning through storytelling. At first, I was skeptical as I thought that English was all about grammar and vocabulary. Little did I know that storytelling could be so engaging and interactive.Mr. Williams started by asking us to form groups of four and gave us a topic to talk about. The topic was 'My most embarrassing moment.' The classroom suddenly became alive with everyone sharing their funny and embarrassing moments - some by choice, and others by being picked at random by Mr.Williams. There was one group where a student shared that he accidentally called his teacher, "mom," and the whole class broke out in laughter. To build on this excitement, Mr. Williams introduced us to the concept of 'Tandem Storytelling' where we had to make up a story collectively as a group. One person would start the story with a sentence, and the next person would continue with another sentence. Our group's story went like this - "Once upon a time, in a land far away, there was a girl named Marie. She had a magical toothbrush that could talk. One day, when Marie was brushing her teeth, the toothbrush spoke to her, and it said, 'Don't forget to brush your gums too!'"The story was ridiculous, but it had us laughing so hard that we could barely talk or breathe. It was a refreshing change from our usual routine of sitting at our desks and listening to lectures. Finally, when the presentation time came, Mr. Williams had us present our individual stories to the class. It was a very entertaining session, and we all learned something new about each other. It was an excellent way of getting to knowour classmates and improving our listening and speakingskills. To conclude, the storytelling class was a memorable experience, and it proved to me that English could be taughtin a fun and exciting way. It was an excellent way to breakthe monotony of traditional learning methods and allowed usto be creative and expressive. I believe that if moreteachers can incorporate these methods into their teaching styles, not only will it make learning English more enjoyable, but it will also have a significant impact on students' retention and understanding of the language. Thank you.。

篇一once upon a time, a ween...

篇一once upon a time, a weenie ant was walking on his way. as he was walking, suddenly he felt the ground shaking terribly. he looked around with his paranoid eyes and saw an elephant walking right behind him. quickly, the little ant covered himself with dirt, but one leg was unfortunately left out. a sparrow saw everything, so she flew down with the purpose of teasing the ant: "hey, chicken! watch out your leg, its out!" the ant felt embarrassed at first but then calmly responded: " shi...i am going to trip that elephant." right now, im standing on this glamorous stage. but everything here reminds me of is a not so fun memory. around this time last year i was in nanjing competing in another speech contest. that was the first time for me to be in such a large event. of course the pressure i was under was immense too. after a sleepless and stressfulnight, i went onto that stage without the feeling in my legs. that speech turned out to be horrible. i dont remember how i get down from there, but i do remember afterwards i just wanted to find a hole to hide in just like the ant in the story. back at my school, it took a long time for me to recover. thanks to all the help i got from my special friends. my confidence was restored. after rounds of giving speeches and answering tough questions, i am here today. from all that ive been through ive learned that a good future is based on a forgotten past, if i want my life to go on well i have to let go of my past failure. so today, with out fear, i am tripping my elephant again.篇二ladies and gentlemen , good afternoon! im very glad to stand here and give you a short speech. today my topic is "youth". i hope you will like it , and found the importance in your youth so that more cherish it.first i want to ask you some questions:1、do you know what is youth?2、how do you master your youth?youthyouth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind ; it is not rosy cheeks , red lips and supple knees, it is a matter of theemotions : it is the freshness ; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life .youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals.years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of whats next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart theres a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .when the aerials are down , and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old ,even at 20 , but as long as your aerials are up ,to catch waves of optimism , there is hope you may die young at 80.thank you!篇三the east and the west, lets enjoy the combination of the twocultures?kipling said:"east is east, and west is west, and never the twain shall meet!" but now, a century later, they have met.they have met in business. they have met in education. they have met in the arts. some people will argue that these meetings will leave us with a choice between east and west, but i believe that the best future lies in the creative combination of both worlds. we can make western ideas, customs and technology our own, and adapt them to our own use. we can enjoy the best of both worlds, because our tradition is, above all, one of selecting the best and making it our own.i love beijing and hennan opera because it always reminds me of who i am. but i am also a fan of pop music, especially english songs. so i have combined eastern melody with western language. it is called western henna opera.when two cultures meet, there may be things in one culture, which do not fit into the tradition of the other. when this happens, we need to learn to understand and respect the customs of another culture. then there are certain things some people may not like. to this, i will say, if you do not like it, please try to tolerate it. to learn to tolerate what you personally dont like is a great virtue at a time when different cultures mix and merge. before us,there are two rivers, eastern and western cultures. at present, they may run in different courses. but eventually, they will converge into the vast sea of human culture.right now, i can see peoples of eastern and western cultures, standing side by side, singing the olympic theme song: we are hand in hand, heart to heart, together we will shape a beautiful tomorrow! thank you!。

In 2023, my English language classroom was filled with excitement and enthusiasm as we embarked on a unique learning journey – the art of storytelling. Our teacher, Mr. Brown, had planned an innovative approach to teaching us about different cultures and traditions by using the power of storytelling. From the beginning, we were given a task to write our own stories about our family history and cultural traditions. We had to present our stories to the class and explain what we learned about our heritage by doing research and talking to our family members. I was amazed at the amount of diversity and richness of cultures present in my class. Some students talked about their ancestors who migrated from differentparts of the world, while others spoke about their family's unique customs and traditions.Mr. Brown then introduced us to the art of oral storytelling. He explained how storytelling has been a partof human history for thousands of years and is a powerfultool to pass on important messages, values, and traditions. We learnt about the different elements of storytelling, such as character development, setting the scene, and adding suspense. We also studied different forms of storytelling, such as folk tales, fables, and fairy tales. We learnt about authors and storytellers from around the world, and how they used storytelling to preserve their culture and traditions. I was fascinated to learn about the Greek mythology and how it has influenced literature and art around the world. Each week, we had a different theme to explore, such as courage, love, or friendship. We were given a variety of stories to read and discuss in class. We practiced retelling the stories in our own words and analyzing the different elements of the story, such as the plot, characters, and conflict. One day, Mr. Brown surprised us by inviting a group of elders from different cultures to share their stories with us. We listened to stories from the African, Native American, and Asian cultures. The wisdom and knowledge that were sharedleft a profound impact on us.Towards the end of the semester, we had a storytelling festival where we showcased our storytelling skills. Each student had to create their own storytelling performance utilizing all the skills and knowledge we had acquired overthe semester. I performed a story about my grandmother's experience during the Vietnam War, and how it shaped ourfamily's values of resilience and courage.Looking back, the storytelling project was one of the most enjoyable and enriching experiences I had in my English language classroom. It not only enabled us to improve our language skills but also gave us an opportunity to connect with one another and learn about different cultures and traditions. The art of storytelling is truly timeless and holds great potential in preserving and passing on our cultural heritage to future generations.。

LET’SDO、FREETALK

I’DLIKESOMEPOTATOES.MERRYCHRISTMAS!HEISFATHERCHRISMAS.
