《寂寞的人坐著看花》獲國家文藝獎；迭獲香港大 學、中國海洋大學(青島)及海內外多個團體贈文學 終身成就獎；元智大學桂冠詩人獎，中國文藝協會 獎章等。作品為台、港、星、大陸等地選入官定華 文教科書。 在台曾任青年作協執行長、《聯合文學》總編輯。

學名鄭文韜，1933生於濟南，籍貫直隸，遠祖遷 自閩台，為明末有清一代世襲軍事家庭； 獲BA(台北大)、MFA(Iowa 英文系)、 Litt. D. (WACA)等學位。

出版詩集20種， 《鄭愁予詩集I》發行200餘 版，被選為【三十年來對台 灣最具影響力的三十本書】 之一，是唯一詩集。
Zheng Chouyu ( Wen-tao Cheng)
He has published over 20 collections of poetry and has had his work translated into English, Japanese, Korean, German and French. He was a participant of the world re-known International Writers Program at The University of Iowa in 1968 and received an MFA from the English department at the University of Iowa in 1972. He was a member of the Yale University faculty for over 30 years.

Since his extraordinary debut with 《Above the Space of Dreams 》in 1955, Zheng Chouyu has become one of the most widely read and best loved poet in the Chinese language. His poems speak with the primordial language of the human soul and unlock the musicality of both the Chinese classic and vernacular language in a distinguished manor that clearly separates him from contemporary poets.

His appointments also include Honorary Professor at the University of Hong Kon Hua University. He is currently Chair Professor at National Quemoy University and Yale University Faculty Emeritus, and also Poet in-Residence at Yale.
