About the Beacon Tower
Maybe the most famous part of the Great Wall of China is the beacon fire tower. The beacon fire tower was built to deliver important messages during wars. By keeping going higher(点燃烟火), the whole army could know that there were enemise preparing for the invasion. The Beacon Tower is an important martial facility in the long history.

Meng Jiang Temple
There are also many stories about the Great Wall in China. I think the most famous one is about Lady Meng Jiang. It's said that Meng jiang's husband was required to help bulid the Great Wall after three days they got married. Finally her husband was died and she was of great deal of pain.
