The favorable natural conditions for the United States to develop into a superpower

I think the favorable natural condition for the United States to develop into a superpower is the US river system. Most of the American rivers belong to the Atlantic Ocean water system and the Pacific Ocean water system. It main includes the Mississippi River, Great lakes and the Columbia River.

Mississippi River located in the south central of the American is the water resources of millions of American people. It moistens 41% of the American land. It forms the world’s biggest delta which has the rich land and high food’s output. Just because of the beauty of the Mississippi river and many kinds of fishes, it attracts many people to go there. Tourism, fishing, and recreational entertainment industry are very prosperity. Because of these, many people finds their own jobs and have good lives. What’s more, It has big influence on the transportation of the American. Half the nation's corn and soy are shipped by the Mississippi River.

Great lakes are the world's largest freshwater area in the United States and Canada’s junction. There are many precious wild animals in the forest near the Great lakes such as Bears, wolves and foxes. The underground resources are very abundant. The exploitation of the mineral resources is convenient. These all

promote the north places’ economic development.

Columbia River is in the west of the American which is a plateau. When spring comes, ice and snow melt into water into the Columbia River to increase the amount of the water. Its sediment concentration is very low. The most different aspect is that it has rich hydropower resources. There are many hydropower stations.

All in all, I think that a nation’s water system is very important for this nation’s development. The human production and life are inseparable from the water. So if the distribution of the water resources is very reasonable, this country may have fewer problems in the nation’s development.
