The significance of his essays

Contribution
Addison developed the form of letter writing to the verge of the epistolary novel(书信体 小说）. Addison created a perfect style: lucid(clear), colloquial ,full of individuality and yet refined by the choice of words. • Joseph Addison was born in 1272.When he was still a young boy,he met Steele,who became Addison’s life-long friend. • At 15,the two boys went to Oxford,to the university.Young Addison soon became known as a writer of verses.
