In the realm of productivity, the ability to focus is akin to a sacred art. It's the cornerstone upon which great achievements are built, the catalyst that transforms mere intentions into tangible outcomes. Like a laser beam cutting through the fog, focus illuminates the path forward, guiding us towards our desired destinations. For me, the pursuit of focus has been an ongoing journey. As a writer, the blank page can often feel like an intimidating abyss, a vast expanse that threatens to swallow me whole. But I've learned that the key to unlocking the power of focus is to tame the chaos within, to silence the cacophony of thoughts that vie for my attention.I've discovered that creating a conducive environment is essential. In my writing space, I banish all distractions, from the siren call of social media to the incessant ping of notifications. I surround myself with objects that inspire me, that ignite the creative spark within. Soft lighting and calming scents soothe my senses, creating a sanctuary where my mind can wander freely. But focus is not merely about external conditions. It's also an inner discipline, a practice that must be honed and nurtured. I've found that mindfulness meditation has been invaluable in this regard. By training my attention to stay present, I've developed a greater ability to resist distractions and to remain steadfast in my pursuit of a task. The benefits of focus are immeasurable. When I'm fully immersed in my work, time seems to melt away. I enter a state of flow, where thoughts flow effortlessly and ideas come unbidden. Productivity soars, and the joy of creation fills my being. However, focus is not always easy to maintain. Therewill be times when my mind rebels, when procrastination whispers sweet nothings in my ear. But I've learned to recognize these moments as opportunities for growth. I remind myself of the importance of the task at hand, the satisfaction that awaits me when it's complete. And so, I press on, one word at a time, one step at a time. Focus becomes my unwavering companion, guiding me through the challenges, propelling me towards my goals. It's not always a smooth path, but it's a journey that fills me with purpose and meaning.

1My Busy Life as a Fifth GraderI wake up early every morning because I'm always doing so many things. My day starts at 6:30 am when my mom is calling me to get ready for school. I'm usually dragging myself out of bed, feeling sleepy, but I know I have to get moving. While I'm getting dressed, I'm also packing my backpack with all the books and supplies I'll need for the day. I have to make sure I'm not forgetting anything important like my homework or my lunchbox. My little brother is often running around the house making noise and being a pest while I'm trying to get ready.Once I'm dressed, I'm heading to the kitchen for breakfast. My dad is usually cooking something tasty like pancakes or eggs. I'm always wolfing down my food quickly because I don't want to be late. My parents are reminding me over and over to slow down and chew my food properly. After breakfast, I'm rushing to brush my teeth and make sure I look presentable. My hair is often a mess, so I'm spending extra time trying to tame it with a brush and some hair gel. Just as I'm about to head out the door, I'm realizing I've forgotten something and have to run back inside to grab it.The walk to school is only about ten minutes, but I'm always keeping a brisk pace. I'm watching out for cars and other potential dangers as I'm crossing the street. Sometimes my friends are walking with me, and we're chatting about the latest video games or shows we're watching. When I arrive at school, I'm heading straight to my locker to drop off my belongings. The hallways are crowded, and I'm trying not to bump into anyone as I'm weaving through the chaos. I'm always keeping an eye out for my teacher, Mrs. Thompson, because she's constantly reminding us to walk, not run, in the halls.Once I'm in my classroom, I'm taking out my books and getting settled at my desk. The morning is filled with lessons in subjects like math, reading, and science. I'm trying my best to pay attention and take good notes, but sometimes my mind is wandering, and I'm daydreaming about playing outside or watching TV.During our morning break, I'm usually outside on the playground with my friends. We're running around, playing tag or shooting hoops. Sometimes we're just sitting on the swings or talking about our favorite video games or TV shows. Before we know it, the bell is ringing, and we're heading back inside for more lessons.Lunchtime is always a welcome break in the day. I'm heading to the cafeteria with my friends, and we're getting in line for our food. We're usually chatting and goofing around while we wait our turn. Once we have our trays, we're finding a spot at one of the tables to sit and eat. The lunchroom is always noisy, with kids laughing and talking all around us.After lunch, we have a short recess period where we're allowed to go outside and burn off some energy. I'm usually playing basketball or running around with my friends. Sometimes we're just hanging out on the playground equipment, swinging or climbing. The afternoon lessons seem to drag on forever. I'm trying to stay focused, but it's getting harder and harder as the day goes on. My mind is wandering, and I'm thinking about all the fun things I'll get to do after school. Finally, the last bell rings, and I'm rushing to pack up my things and head for the exit. The hallways are chaos again as everyone is trying to get out at the same time. I'm careful not to get knocked over or trampled in the rush.Once I'm outside, I'm either walking home with friends or waiting for my parents to pick me up. If the weather is nice, we're often stopping at the park to play for a little while before heading home. When I get home, I'm dropping my backpack and kicking off my shoes. I'm usually starving, so I'm grabbing a snack and plopping down in front of the TV to watch some of my favorite shows. My mom is always reminding me to start my homework, but I'm trying to put it off for as long as possible.Eventually, I'm forced to get started on my assignments. I'm sitting at the kitchen table or my desk, working my way through math problems, writing assignments, and reading comprehension questions. It's not always easy, and I'm often getting frustrated or feeling stuck. When that happens, I'm asking my parents for help, or I'm taking a short break to clear my head.Once my homework is finally done, I'm free to relax and have some fun. I'm often playing video games, reading books, orgoing outside to ride my bike or play with friends. Sometimes I'm just lounging around watching TV or listening to music. As the evening goes on, I'm getting ready for bed. I'm taking a shower, brushing my teeth, and putting on my pajamas. My parents are reminding me to get everything ready for the next day so I'm not rushing around in the morning. Finally, I'm crawling into bed, exhausted from another busy day. As I'm drifting off to sleep, I'm already thinking about all the things I'll be doing tomorrow. Get ready, because there's a lot going on!First thing in the morning, I'm waking up to my loud alarm clock buzzing. I'm groaning and pulling the covers over my head, but then my mom is coming into my room and throwing open the curtains. "Rise and shine!" she's saying in a cheerful voice that's way too chipper for that early hour. I'm slowly dragging myself out of bed and getting dressed for school.I'm heading downstairs to the kitchen where my dad is cooking up a big breakfast. He's always making me something delicious and filling to start my day off right. This morning, he's frying up some eggs, sausages, and hashbrowns. My mouth is watering as the smells waft towards me. I'm gulping down some orange juice and diving right in!After breakfast, I'm grabbing my backpack and heading out the door. The school bus is already there waiting, so I'm hurrying to get on before it leaves without me. The bus driver is greeting me with a smile and I'm finding a spot to sit down. I'm waving to my friends as they get on at the next few stops. We're arriving at school and I'm joining the herd of kids streaming inside. I'm stopping at my locker to switch out my books and binders for my morning classes. The hallways are buzzing with voices as everyone is catching up and making plans for after school. I'm meeting up with my friends and we're chatting about the homework assignments we have due today. The morning is flying by with math, reading, science and social studies lessons. I'm working hard and paying close attention, but I'm also counting down the minutes until lunchtime. Finally the bell rings and I'm racing out of class towards the cafeteria. I'm getting in the long line for hot lunch and scanning the choices. Hmm, maybe I'll get pizza or chicken nuggets today. While I'm waiting, I'm joking around with my friends and talking about the latest video game or movie that's popular right now. After eating, I'm heading outside to the playground for recess. I'm running around on the blacktop, playing basketball orkickball with my friends. We're shouting and laughing, getting out all our pent up energy from sitting in class. I'm working up a sweat as I'm dribbling the ball and trying my best moves to get around the defenders. When the whistle blows, I'm reluctantly trooping back inside, already looking forward to gym class later. In the afternoon, I'm settling in for more lessons. I'm really enjoying my art class where I'm painting a colorful landscape scene. I'm dabbing bright colors onto the canvas and blending them together. My English class is next, and I'm diligently working on essays and book reports. I have a hard time sitting still sometimes, but I'm doing my best to listen to the teacher's instructions. Finally the last bell rings and I'm rushing out of class with the rest of my classmates. I'm doubling back to my locker to grab my stuff, then I'm hurrying outside to find my bus. I'm hopping on and grabbing a window seat so I can gaze outside as we go home. The bus isn't too crazy today, but there's still a decent amount of noise and energy. A bunch of us are chatting and joking around on the ride.At my stop, I'm hopping off the bus and running up my driveway towards home. I'm tossing my backpack inside and quickly changing out of my school clothes into something morecomfortable. Depending on the day, I might be heading to baseball practice, going to the park to play pickup games with friends, or just relaxing at home.If I have practice, I'm grabbing all my gear and begging my mom to hurry up so we're not late. At the baseball field, I'm joining my teammates for a hard workout. We're stretching, running drills, fielding grounders, and batting cage sessions. Our coaches are constantly giving us pointers and motivating us to improve. I'm hustling and pushing myself, determined to play my best.If it's a free evening, maybe I'm inviting some friends over after I finish my homework. We're hanging out in the basement room with video games, snacks, and music. I'm furiously mashing buttons and cheering as I'm battling the bad guys on screen. Or we might be outside riding bikes, playing basketball in the driveway, or just meandering around the neighborhood chatting.Once it starts getting dark, I'm heading inside for dinner. I'm helping my mom set the table and we're all sitting down together as a family. We're discussing how our days went while my dad is dishing out portions of the meal he prepared. I'm shoveling bites of food and listening to any funny stories or newsmy parents share. My little sister is babbling nonsense beside me as usual. After dinner, I'm clearing my plate and heading upstairs to start any homework I have remaining. Sometimes it's a breeze, other times I'm struggling and needing help from my parents. I'm trying my hardest to focus, but often getting side tracked and daydreaming. If I finish my work, I'm rewarding myself with some free time relaxing, reading, or watching TV.When my bedtime rolls around, I'm groaning again at the thought of stopping my fun. I'm trudging to the bathroom to take a bath and brush my teeth. Then I'm changing into pajamas and snuggling under my covers. My mom is coming in to give me a kiss goodnight and make sure I'm all set. I'm drifting off to sleep, already wondering what adventures and activities tomorrow will bring!Well, there's a typical day (or week) in my life as an active 5th grader! I'm always on the move, bouncing from one thing to the next. Between school, homework, sports, and hanging out with friends and family, there's never a dull moment. Every day I'm learning, playing, working hard, and making memories. It can be exhausting, but I'm loving this busy stage of life. Thanks for reading about what I'm up to these days!Certainly! Here's an essay about "Things I'm Doing" written in the present continuous tense, from the perspective of afifth-grade student. It's approximately 2,000 words long.Things I'm DoingHi there! My name is Emily, and I'm a fifth-grader at Oakwood Elementary School. I'm writing this essay to tell you about all the exciting things I'm doing right now. Are you ready? Let's dive in!First and foremost, I'm studying hard for my upcoming exams. That's right; exam season is just around the corner, and I'm doing my best to prepare. I'm spending extra time reviewing my notes and practicing math problems. I'm also reading through my science and social studies textbooks, making sure I understand all the key concepts. It's a lot of work, but I'm determined to do well! When I'm not hitting the books, I'm practicing for the school talent show. I'm an aspiring dancer, and this year, I'm performing a contemporary dance routine. I'm rehearsing every day after school, perfecting my moves and workingWhat Am I Doing Right Now?Hi there! My name is Emma and I'm in the 5th grade. Today, my teacher Mrs. Roberts asked us to write an essay about what we're doing right now using the present continuous tense. The present continuous tense is when you use a form of the verb "to be" along with the present participle (-ing word) to describe an action happening currently. It's kind of confusing, but I'll try my best to explain it through this essay!Right now, I'm sitting at my desk in my bedroom writing this essay on my laptop. The desk is a little messy with books, pencils, and papers scattered around, but that's just how I like it! I'm chewing on the end of my pencil as I think about what to write next. My cat Mittens is sleeping soundly on the bed behind me. She's curled up in a little ball and purring softly. I can hear birds chirping outside my window as the warm spring sun shines through.Downstairs, I can hear my little brother Max playing video games and yelling at the TV. He's probably playing that zombie game he's obsessed with lately. Mom is in the kitchen cooking dinner. The delicious smells of garlic, tomato sauce, and herbsare wafting up the stairs, making my stomach growl. She's humming along to the music playing on the radio as she stirs a big pot of spaghetti sauce. My dad isn't home from work yet, but he's probably driving home and listening to an audiobook like he always does during his commute. My best friend Sophia is texting me nonstop as she's doing her math homework. She keeps sending me crying emojis because she hates fractions so much. I'm giggling at her dramatics as I type out encouragement telling her she's got this! After dinner, we're video chatting to work on our science project about the solar system together. I'm making a model of all the planets orbiting the sun out of papier-mâché. It's a huge mess, but I'm having a lot of fun with it!At school today, we were learning all about prefixes and suffixes in English class. Mrs. Roberts was going through PowerPoint slides explaining what they are and how they can change the meaning of a root word. A few of the boys in my class were being really goofy and cracking jokes, making everyone laugh. Mrs. Roberts was trying so hard to stay serious, but she was laughing along with us. After that very silly English lesson, we had PE. We were playing dodgeball teams, and I was ducking and weaving all over the place to avoid getting hit! My heart waspounding with excitement. My friend Ryan and I were the last two left on our team, and we were huddling together trying to strategize as the opponents were pelting us with balls. It was intense!During science today, we did a really cool experiment with baking soda and vinegar to learn about chemical reactions. We were combining the ingredients carefully in test tubes as Mr. Hawkins was lecturing about what was happening on a molecular level. It was so amazing watching the two liquids bubble up and fizz over! After the experiment, we had to clean up and rinse out all the test tubes, beakers, and goggles. Jayden decided it would be funny to spray me with the water hose, so we ended up having a mini water fight in the classroom. We got in so much trouble, but it was worth it for those few silly minutes of fun! After school, I had dance rehearsals for my ballet recital coming up next month. We're dancing to songs from different Disney movies like The Little Mermaid and Frozen. I've been practicing my turns and leaps over and over again until I get them just right. This dance is so intricate with all its complicated footwork and movements. Madame Natalie, our very strict Russian dance teacher, was yelling out corrections in her thickaccent as we went through the choreography. "Point your toes! Straighten those legs! Look alive, she was shouting." We were sweating like crazy by the end of the two-hour rehearsal. Now that I'm finally home after a very busy day, I'm just relaxing in my room and working on this essay assignment. Lucy, my annoying little sister, keeps barging into my room every five minutes asking me stupid questions or just being a pest. She's sitting on my bed braiding her doll's hair right now and chattering away about something. I'm trying to tune her out and concentrate. This is just a typical day in my life as a 5th grader. I'm always running around doing a million different things between school, activities, friends, and family. As I'm sure you can tell from reading this essay, I spend a lot of my time following directions, learning new things, being silly with friends, or working hard on projects and assignments. Even though my days are hectic and exhausting, I wouldn't have it any other way! I love being a busy kid with a jam-packed schedule. It makes my life so fun, exciting, and never boring.Well, I think that's a pretty good essay showing how to use the present continuous tense to describe everything I'm doing currently. I covered my activities at home, at school, with friends, and in my free time. I hope Mrs. Roberts thinks I did a good job explaining the concept while also giving a peek into a day in my 5th grade life. Writing this made me realize just how much I actually do in a single day—no wonder I'm always feeling tired! I'm going to go eat the dinner that Mom is setting on the table right now. Maybe after I'll take a little nap to re-charge my batteries before my video call with Sophia. Until next time!篇6My Busy DayI wake up to the sound of my alarm clock ringing. I'm starting my day off right by making my bed neatly. Mommy is cooking breakfast downstairs and the delicious smells are wafting up to my room. I can hear the sizzling of bacon and the clanking of pots and pans.I'm getting dressed for school, putting on my favorite jeans and my comfy green sweater. I stop to take a look in the mirror and I'm brushing my hair, making sure it looks just right. I grab my backpack and I'm headed downstairs for breakfast.Mommy is setting the table as I walk into the kitchen. "Good morning, honey! Your brother is still sleeping like a log," she sayswith a chuckle. I'm pouring myself a glass of orange juice and taking a seat at the table.Mommy is serving up pancakes, eggs, and bacon onto my plate. "This looks amazing!" I tell her. She's beaming with pride. I'm digging into my breakfast, savoring every delicious bite. The pancakes are light and fluffy, just how I like them. After cleaning my plate, I'm rushing to the bathroom to brush my teeth. I never want to forget that important step! I'm packing up my backpack, double checking that I have all my homework, books, and supplies for the day. Phew, I'm not forgetting anything this time!"Johnny, hurry up! The bus is coming soon!" Mommy hollers up the stairs, trying to wake up my sleepy brother. He's groggily making his way downstairs, clearly not a morning person like me. I'm putting on my shoes and grabbing my jacket. The bus is pulling up outside right on time. I'm waving goodbye to Mommy and running out the door to hop on. I spot my best friend Sara and I'm sliding into the seat next to her."Hiiii!" She's greeting me with her usual big smile. "Did you finish the math homework last night? I'm still struggling with a couple problems."I'm reaching into my backpack to pull out my work. "Yeah, let me take a look! Maybe I can help explain it."We're going over the practice problems together on the bus ride to school. I'm doing my best to break it down for Sara in a way that makes sense. Slowly but surely, she's getting it!We're arriving at Oakdale Elementary. The bus doors are opening and we're filing off along with the other kids, a jumble of backpacks and lunchboxes. Sara and I are making our way through the crowded hallways towards our classrooms. The bell is ringing, signaling the start of first period. I'm taking my seat at my desk and Mrs. Thompson, our teacher, is welcoming the class."Good morning, everyone! I hope you're all ready to learn today. We're going to start with a fun science experiment!"The class is letting out a collective cheer of excitement. I love when we get to do hands-on activities! Mrs. Thompson is passing out supplies to each group - baking soda, vinegar, a bottle, and some food coloring. My group is making a baking soda and vinegar volcano. We're carefully following the steps, taking turns pouring in eachingredient. I'm holding my breath in anticipation as Tommy drops in the food coloring.Whoosh! The volcano is erupting, bright red "lava" bubbling up and oozing down the sides. We're all squealing and clapping, absolutely delighted by our creation. Science class is the best! The rest of the morning is flying by quickly. We're reviewing grammar concepts in English, I'm raising my hand to answer questions. We're learning a new song in Music class, everyone is singing along and clapping to keep the beat. Finally, it's time for lunch and recess! I'm settling down at a table in the cafeteria with my lunchbox. Peanut butter and jelly, an apple, some carrots and ranch...my favorites! I'm scarfing down my food, I can't wait to go play outside. The bell rings and we're lining up for recess. My friends and I are racing out to the playground, making a beeline for the swings. I'm pumping my legs back and forth, going。

Howmany_______ do you have? I have _______ ________.
What's this? It's a ___________.How many_______ do you have? I have _______ ________.
How many_______ do you have? I have _______ ________. How many_______ do you have?
Chant: One book, two books, three books, four. One, two, three, four, five books more.
如: pen, pencil, pencil box, ruler, crayon.
Play a game : What's missing?
Group Work.(1) Show your school things to your friends.(2) Show your school things to your teacher.

Show me your rulers.I have ______rulers. And you? I have________ rulers.How many rulers do you have ?
How many _______ do you have?
Do a survey: How many ______ do you have?a.
How many ______ do you have?
2. Practice: Listen and circle.
