You can read a paper on a train , in your office , or even in the bathroom . But it’s hard for you to carry a TV everywhere . Secondly , it’s easier to keep the content of newspapers than that of television . It’s easy for you to keep newspapers as many as you like , but it’s hard to keep all the information from TV.
Meanwhile , television also has two advantages over newspapers . Firstly , the coverage of television is wider than that of newspapers . You can watch almost everything you want to know from TV . Because of its limited space , newspaper can’t cover the same amount of content as TV does .Secondly . “Problems American Old People Face Today “
old age is an unavoidable period of one’s life . In America, some people think old age is one’s “golden year “. For one thing , the elderly have enough time and freedom to do whatever they like ; for another , social security and medicare provide them comfortable and reliable life . But other people just hold the opposite opinion .They think old age is miserable . On the one hand , the elderly are no longer useful to the society and therefore looked down upon; on the other hand , most elder people suffer illness , loneliness and ever poverty .
Today , the American old people have joys , potentials , fears and problems . For example , they can get enjoyment from their hobbies , and exert their potentials by taking advantages of their knowledge and experience . But meanwhile ,most old people fear that their meager income can’t cover all the expenses and health problem is also their concern . The problem is that there is no complete social system to eradicate their worries and ensure them a happy life .
In general , American old women get along worse than men . Most women get lower pension than men and housewives received much less income . Besides financial shortage , most elder women live lonely , because of the fact that 2/3of them are widows . Thus they are likely end up alone .
