I am a native in Datong,and I am deeply in love with my city.
Datong is a beautiful city with profound background of history and culture. Having a population of 3.31 million,it is not a small city. It was famous for the rich coal resources,and was named as the Coal Capital.Even so, today's Datong is developing in the tourist industry. There are many interesting places in Datong. The Yungang Grottoes should be the most outstanding.A large amount of people know Yungang Grottoes more than Datong itself. These majestic figures of Buddha are just the magnificent spirits that Datong's people are pursuing.The imposing Hanging Temple ,which is another famous place in Datong, is worth being visited. Only if you come to see by yourself can you realize how worthy it will be to visit Datong.
