●Due to my love and warm heart for the children in poor areas, I want to apply for a poor-supporting event and fund to

support the children in poor families. I want to support the study of children in Wenchuan. Although the earthquake has gone away three years, the destroy from earthquake has not completely been moved. Many families lost their home and money in earthquake so that they couldn’t have power to support the study of Wenchuan. Watching the children’s eyes for desiring to study in TV, I feel worried. I think I must do something. I want to use 2000 Yuan to support the children who mostly need to go to study but their families are mostly poor. I want to use money to support 3 most-needed students. The following is my plan. (136 words)

Hello! I’m Li Ming, a student from Mingqi High School of Shanghai. As I’ve always been interested in charity, I’m writing to you in the hope that I could be given the 2,000-yuan fund to carry out my project to help children in poor areas.

My poverty-relief program is divided into three parts. In the initial stage, I’ll try to purchase textbooks for subjects such as English and Maths. Given that new books are usually expensive, I’ll be on the look-out for good-quality second-hand books. The second stage of my program is to recruit high school students who have a strong desire to help pupils in poor areas. Surely they should be armed with relatively profound knowledge to be qualified teachers. We will set out for primary schools, which are selected and contacted in advance, to carry out our program, which of course is my last stage.

As to how to allocate the money, I’d like to use 1,000 for textbooks, and the rest to pay for the travelling fee of volunteers.

My name is Li Ming, a student from Ming Qi middle school. I’m writing this e-mail, on behalf of every charity-pursuer, to apply for the project aimed at helping children in poverty-stricken areas. My experience of last year’s visit to a school in the depth of a mountain triggered the intention to shoulder the responsibility of helping them overcome the hardships and struggles they would go through.

There is a series of steps in my project that will be demonstrated as follows: Of the top priority is our organizing an activity to introduce the living and learning conditions of kids in poor areas and thus bringing home to the public the urgency of immediate action to be taken to help them out, whether by donating money or by sending daily necessities from clothes to books. As should be done next, a video play will be shot to convey the wishes, cheers and encouragement from us city people to them. Equally significantly, I along with my teammates have planned to visit those kids, to play and chat with them, which is bound to establish a solid connection between us.

If I were lucky enough to be granted the 2000 yuan fund, a quarter of it would be spared for the traffic and so cost, while the rest would be added to the money collected to be donated contributing to modernizing and improving the teaching devices.
