She has been mad with me for a week.

A: Are you able to get by on the salary you make?
B: I'm able to get by, but it could be better.

A: How are you doing?
B: I'm getting by OK. You know, things just keep getting better and better.

Dave: You miss me, don't you?
Zina: Don't push your luck, Dave.

Dave: OK, I'm in. When do I start?

Zina: As soon as you can get here. We'll be waiting for you.

A: He's good at negotiating business deals.

B: Then talk him into working for us.

A: I will be in charge of this company in five years.

B: Don't push your luck. If the boss hears you say that, you'll be without a job.

I'm in.

A: Will you tell your boss I'm interested in a job?
B: I'll mention it tomorrow.

Someone has too much on one's plate.

A: I think he has too much on his plate right now.

B: I agree. He's too busy to return my calls, and we have some important business to finish.
