一：

1. 天开始下雨，她走向附近的一个避雨处。(make for)

It started raining, so she made for the nearest shelter.

2. 她挑了一顶帽子，正好配她的衣服。(pick out)

She picked out a cap to match her dress.

3. 我等了一个小时，可还是没见他的人影。(show up)

I waited for an hour, but he didn't show up.

4. 他们觉得还是呆在原地好。(figure)

They figured it was better to stay where they were.

5. 小岛上发生的地震，造成了23人死亡。（strike）

At first, he refused to accept/rejected accepting any responsibility b ut he ended up apologizing. (with an apology)

Some convenient foods fit in with ideas of healthy diet/eating.

Your carelessness might put us into danger.

He tried to force his opinion on us, but we didn’t accept it.
