a) 了解旅游的行为规范、旅游工具、旅游必需品及相关旅游注意事项。
b)了解生态旅游的概念和意义,帮助学生树立为人与自然和谐发展的环境而努力的意识。
II.Teaching material
本单元的中心话题是旅游,通过旅游日记的方法描述旅游见闻。这一单元分为“Warming up”
“pre-reading” “reading” “comprehending” “learning about language”“using language ““summing up ”和“learning tips”。
1.1 WARMING UP让学生想象自己将前往某地旅行。要求他们选择路线,选择不同的交通方式及旅
游所需的东西进行讨论,使学生了解旅行的必要手段和必备的知识物件。
1.2 PRE-READING两个问题主要引导学生向阅读部分过渡
1.3 READING “湄公河旅行游记”是游记六个部分的第一部分,讲述了毛坤和毛敏梦想沿湄公河做
自行车旅行,并为之准备的过程。
1.4 COMPREHENDING通过回答问题,让学生填表格等练习加强学生对课文细节的进一步理解。
1.5 LEARNING ABOUT LANGUAGE讲述主要词汇及运用和主要语法项目(现在进行时表将来)。
1.6 USING LANGUAGE含四个方面的综合训练。
1.7 SUMMING UP部分引导学生外出旅游时写旅游日记。

Period1 Warming up,
Period 2 pre-reading and the first reading.
Period 3&4 Reading, comprehending, language points.
Period 5 Learning useful structures.
Period 6 Using language,listening.
Period 7 Reading and writing.
V.Teaching plan

I Teaching aims:
1. To talk about traveling
2. To learn some new words
II Teaching Important points:
Get Ss to talk about traveling and the transport.
III. Teaching aids:
A multi-media and other normal teaching tools.
V. Teaching steps:
Step 1 Have an introduction of the whole unit.
Step 2 Lead-in
T: We know the National Day is coming. And we have “the golden week” during that time. What do you think many people do on their holidays?

Then get Ss to discuss their travelling plan in pairs,adding some questions in Part 2, Warming up:
1. Do you like traveling?
2. Why do you like traveling? And why ?
3. Where are you going? …
4. How to prepare for your trip? ( decide the place to visit 、make a plan、find some useful information、take some necessary things , etc. )
Step 3 Discussion
Ask Ss to discuss in groups and make a list of the transport they know and tell the advantages and disadvantages of each form.
---- What do you have to consider before you decide which means of transportation you will use?
cost / safety / comfort / quickness / convenience
---- If you are given a chance to travel around the world, what kind of transportations will you use and why?
Suggested answers:
Step 4 Pre-reading
1.Look at the picture in page17.
---- what can you see in the picture? (A river and the golden sunshine and the beautiful scenery)
2.The world has many great rivers. If you could travel down only one of them, which one would
you choose? Why?
3.What do you need to take with you if you are preparing for a bike trip along the Changjiang
River?
( Look at the picture and tell the whole class which subject you think is the most useful and which one is the least useful. Why do you think so? ----pictures on page 55. Talking.)
( Key things the students will mention: camera, film, towel, waterproof matches, compass, backpack, torch, candles pocket knife, first aid kit, a map, water purifying tablets, camp.)
Step 5 Homework
1. Recite the new words
2. Write a tour journal according to the topic they discuss in class.
