⒈Favoring red comes from worship of the sun.(喜欢红色来自太阳崇拜)
The Chinese regard the color red as the symbol of happiness， success， luck， faith and growth． They like red very much， which comes from worship of the Sun． In traditional Chinese weddings， there are double Xi characters in red， red scarves(丝带)， red flowers and the bride wears a red coat.
⒋The food the bride eats has cultural significance.
In traditional weddings， the bride usually has red dates（红 枣）， peanuts（花生）， longans（桂圆） and melon seeds（瓜 子）． The meaning is evident in the Chinese pronunciation of these four foods． When they are said together， it sounds like “Have a baby soon．（早生贵子）"

Three books（三书）: letter of appointment（聘书）, Book of Rites（礼书）, The bride‘s book（迎书）, Six Manners（六礼）: act as a matchmaker(纳采，说媒), Horoscopes（问名，合 八字），Nagy（纳吉），Cross Big Present （过大礼）， please period(请期，择吉)，affinity towards(亲迎)
典型的中国传 统婚礼服饰为 凤冠霞帔(a chaplet and official robes )、 状元服 。

相传中国最早的婚礼从伏羲氏制嫁娶、女娲立媒约，才开 始有婚姻关系。传说在远古时期洪水泛滥，把世界上几乎 所有人、动物都淹死了，只剩下伏羲、女娲兄妹。太白金 星叫他们结婚，生育后代，但他们认为两人是兄妹，便不 肯答应。但是如果不这样人类就会灭绝。他们提出，如果 能将割成许多段的竹子再接起来，就可以结婚。后来果真 把竹子接上了，而且下许多竹节。两人还是不愿答应，又 提出，从两座山上往下滚两盘石磨，如果石磨能滚合到一 起，就可以结婚。但是当石磨又合在一起后，他们仍然不 肯答应。女娲又出了一个主意，如果伏羲能够追上自己， 就可以成婚。结果，伏羲始终追不上女娲，一只乌龟教伏 羲从山的另一面沿著相反的方向追赶。女娲没有防备，果 然一下子被伏羲抱在怀里；两人只好成婚。这个是中国最 早的婚礼仪式。

The ancients believed that twilight(黄昏) is the auspicious time(吉时),so people hold married ceremony (娶妻之礼)in the evening.Because of this,It’s belong to the marriage ceremony (嘉礼) among five rituals,and it’s the second milepost(里程碑) in life after capping ceremony（冠礼） of the men and Ji ceremony（笄礼） of the girls.
