Although the importance of RWG translation has aroused wide attention, its research is by no means satisfying. Excluding few famous translators with a few papers related with their specific translational practices, there is hardly any theoretical or systematical research about it. Meanwhile, there are not adequate discussions on language style, purpose of RWG translation, or its translation principles and methods. Owing to the significant status of RWQ its translation requires high criterion.

For even a small mistake may impose bad effect on China's international image and even harm the nation's reputation. What's more, the errors may give rise to international conflict.

In view of the importance and the current disappointing study on RWG translation, this thesis aims at implementing a detailed and systematical study in this realm, analyzing 2012 RWG rendition from the perspective of Skopostheorie and summarizing translation principles and strategies that are adopted in 2012 RWG translation.
