The Sorrows of Young Werther (Die Leiden des jungen Werther, originally published as Die Leiden des jungen Werthers) is an epistolary and loosely autobiographical novel by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, first published in 1774. Narrative protagonist Witt happened at a ball, the chance encounter of a girl，Charlotte. They become good friends. Whenever Witt at leisure, always to Charlotte your family to visit and chat with her, also Witt have a strange feeling in his heart, and gradually have a good impression to Charlotte. But one day, Charlotte's unmarried back, so that the original like a good impression to Charlotte Witt, suddenly extremely disappointed fallen flailing around in the undersea abyss, the whole person can not extricate themselves. Although he had the courage to cheer, but in the end can not forget that once he ride out short-term good times Charlotte Witt Select such deep sorrow context, the end of life to the end of it all.

The story is about a full of wit, love nature of Youngers. After reading this book,though I am very understand why Werther was so upset that kill himself,he gave youngers who are falling in love a wrong example.In other words,“love,or die”.There is a truth in life, we meet regardless what troubles, what the setbacks, not like Werther did choose to escape, the road of life can not be flat, not with an idyllic scene, we can never say never falling way, give up.

In life, we can not avoid defeat, only to face. It is important in frustration can persist, never give up, until the defeat setback. All of this tells us, never give up is a kind of character, is one kind of indomitable spirit, unyielding man.“Every youth for love's sweet portion sighs, Every maiden sighs to win man's love，”pursuit you love indomitably,you will get glory if you fail.On the country,if you are afraid of love hurts,then you have no differencea with a soldier who is afraid of arrows on the battlefield.

The novel is not a long one, nor a hardly understood one. Goethe use the least ,best ,and also simplest words to make the best and most famous novel, what he gave us is more than Werther’s sorrows, but also the thoughts the book conveys to us. We should be grateful to him and his book and we should also be grateful to the world we live in .Besides, we’d better think more about the future instead of the lost days. Always remember the experience of Werther, then we may be more sane to make the best choice in our own lives. And so we can avoid hurting ourselves or the people we love. We will make the world to be a better one.
