One possible version:
How to Finance College Education
These days, tuition and fees for college are much higher than what they used to be. How to finance college education has become a matter of concern for many. It can be well coped with in various ways.
First and foremost, students can get all of the money needed from their parents. Besides, it’s a good idea to apply for a
loan especially intended for college students. Furthermore, doing a part-time job will be of great help to cover tuition and fees. Last but not the least, it is also a good choice to win a scholarship by sparing no efforts to work hard.
As far as I am concerned, I will accept my parents’support mostly, thus causing me to concentrate on my courses. Meanwhile, a part-time job in my spare time will add to the diversity and color of my campus-life. Hard work must be good for the value, such as making new friends, improving my social skills and learning practical knowledge.
听力原文
(Text 1)
W: I guess I’ll send Mary a postcard from Hawaii when I go there on my vacation.
M: I’m sure she’d be glad to get one. She has a collection of cards from all over the world.
(Text 2)
M: Miss, is there still time for a cup of coffee on this flight?
W: Yes, but you’ll have to drink it fast, because we’ll be landing in ten minutes.
(Text 3)
M: Hi, Miss Jones. Sorry that I failed again in your subject, but I really tried.
W: No one succeeds every time. Come on and be happy. You’ll have more chances.
M: Thanks a lot. No failure next time.
(Text 4)
M: Hi, Janet, where were you at lunchtime? I was saving a seat for you in the dining hall.
W: Oh, sorry to miss you. My Chinese class ran overtime again.
(Text 5)
M: Miss Emerson, please look again for those orders from the men’s clothing department. We must find them.
W: They’re not with the other orders, sir. They ought to be there, but they’re not.
M: I don’t care where they ought to be. Look everywhere. We simply have to find them.
W: Yes, sir.
(Text 6)
W: What are you doing, Bob?
M: I’m reading a book about Karl Marx.
W: Karl Marx? You are always interested in those political leaders. I don’t like them at all.
M: Don’t be so sure, Fanny. Reading such books can help us in many ways. For instance, Karl Marx gave language learners much valuable advice. He asked us not to translate everything into our own language. That’s a problem most of us have. Do you agree with me?
W: Is that so? Let me have a look.
(Text 7)
W: If that man gives me any more letters to type, I’ll scream. He’s given me ten already today and there’ll be more when
I get back from coffee break. I’ll be here till midnight.
M: Calm down, Branny. He can’t make you stay after five. Finish what you can and leave the rest for Mary.
W: But they’re important letters, Joes. They should go out tonight.
M: That’s not your worry. If they’re that urgent, he should have given them to you earlier.
(Text 8)
W: Excuse me. Can you help me?
M: Yes?
W: I have a ticket to Seattle. How do I get there?
M: I can’t help you here. You have to go to the ticket counter. Follow this passage to the end, turn left and go three hundred yards. You’ll see a sign that says, “Check in.” Then look for the airline you want.
W: Can you repeat that, please?
