When Patrick Moore was eight,he got a book about stars.That was the beginning of his lifetime hobby.He used to go outside with his mum on clear nights and look at the sky.In different seasons,they saw different groups of stars.Sometimes they saw stars shooting brightly across the sky.

Studying the stars was great fun for Patrick.Once he learnt a little about them,he soon wanted to find out more and more.His hobby became his career.He host a TV programme called The Sky at Night.
