As can be seen clearly from the bar chart,people’s inclination to choose new media or tradition media witnessed a groundbreaking alternation between the year of 2000 and the year of 2015.Specifically,the percentage of people who chose new media soared dramatically from 15% to 85%,while that of people choosing traditional media descended by 60% to 25%.
What leads to this variation? I think the three following reasons should be analyzed. Initially, so fast does science and technology advance that a great many things inconceivable in the past have become commonplace and the progress gives people easy access to new media such as Facebook,Twitter,Weibo and Wechat. Futhermore,the virtue of new media is undoubtedly attracting people, especially the youngsters who have addicted themselves to the fascinating inter-media. Last but more least,social aspect should never be overlooked. Embracing new media helps people keep up with the social trend.
To sum up,in this information-explosion society,nobody can avoid being influenced by new media.They are to us what wings are to birds. Maybe,change of choice not only mirrors social trend,but illustrate technical development. It might be said that gone are those days when traditional media were the only option we had.
