1. What measure can you suggest to help improve the campus environment? (131123已考)

Better campus environment can make students study comfortably and live happily. As college students, in spiritual term, we should have respect for teachers, get along with classmates and treat other people who do serving work with good manner. Well, in environmental term, we should make good habit of keeping clean of our surroundings. For example, we should not drop litter carelessly but pick it up mindfully. And also we can establish various school organizations such as art association and academic research team to improve quality of campus life and enrich students’studying period.

2. Some people like to purchase books from a book store while others like to borrow books from the library. Which do you prefer and why? (131124已考)

I prefer borrowing books from the library. Well, the most important reason is that buying books to read will cost a lot of money, and what’s worse, you may buy useless one.

Also, there is time limit for borrowed books which is a motivation for me to finish reading as soon as possible. But if I buy a book, I will just set aside; because I think since it is mine I can read it any times. So I could read more books in less time through borrowing books without procrastinating. Last, from macro perspective, books’ borrowing is a way of recycling recourses which play a really important role in environmental conservation.

3. Some people think that modern technology has a negative impact on our life, while others think that it has improved our life. Which one do you agree and why? (131123已考)

Well, from my viewpoint, modern technology has improved our life considerably. The first thing is that modern technology has generated many various innovative machines and facilities which substitute human labor work, so people get rid of energy-consuming and repetitive work. Second, modern technology has shortened distance among people and broadened our horizon. For example, we are able to contact any one and access to world news almost everywhere as long as we have a smart phone. Last,

technology has improved human health condition and lengthened human life expectancy with advanced medical care and progressive medical research. So in a word, modern technology has improved our life.

4. Describe a social or political event celebrated in your country. Explain how people in your country celebrate this event.(131124已考)

When it comes to celebratory event, the first thing occur in my mind is the spring festival. Well, about spring festival, all family members come back home and gather together and eat dinner on the eve of the lunar year. Over the dinner, we all just chat casually; share what we have been experienced during the whole year or any interesting things we have heard of, etc. And, we will sit together watch the spring festival gala evening. Elders will give “red pockets” to children. Red pockets express elders’ wishes to children and contain an amount of money. After the meal, we all go outside to set off firecracker which means saying goodbye to the old year and embrace the upcoming year.
