turn用法的常见错误

误The young woman turned a musician.

正The young woman turned musician.

正The young woman became a musician.

析turn后接名词作表语时,名词前不用任何冠词,即使主语是复数,名词也不用复数。而become后接名词时,名词前要有冠词,或可以用复数形式。

听到这消息,她脸色变得苍白。

误Her face turned to white at the news.

正Her face turned white at the news.

他的头发很快就变灰白了。

误His hair turned to grey fast.

正His hair turned grey fast.

析turn to表示“朝…方向转动”; 而turn作“向…转变”解用作系动词时,其后直接跟形容词作表语。

过上个生日时他就五十岁了。

误He turned to fifty on his last birthday.

正He turned fifty on his last birthday.

她还不到十六岁。

误She has not yet turned to sixteen.

正She has not yet turned sixteen.

已经十点了。

析turn 用在年龄和时间方面表示“(年龄)刚过…”“(时间)已到…”时,是及物动词,其后直接加宾语。

他对我们要求帮助的请求置之不理。

析“充耳不闻”“置之不理”可以说turn a deaf ear to,介词to 不可改为about。

他转过身来,发现一名警察正以怀疑的目光注视着他。

析turn back意为“返回”“走回原地”; “转身”“扭过头来”可以说turn round。

析“对…视而不见”“故意不理会”可以用turn a blind eye to/on sth,这里介词to 或on 不可以换作at。
