The Olympic legacy for Britain

It’known to us that the London Olympic games of 2012 could not be regarded as a perfect Olympic games as a result of some ridiculous judges of the games, which made the audiences angry and was considered unfair, for example, the controversial championship of gymnastics that should belong to Chinese player, Yibing, Cheng. But we cann’t conclude that London Olympic games is a terrible one just because of these unharmonious events. What we should pay attention to is its legacy for Britain.

When it comes to the topic of the Olympic legacy for Britain, I think it can be divided into two parts to be discussed. And they are from the material aspect to the spiritual aspect.

First of all, it’ the material aspect. Before talking about this, we should have a look at the distribution of the area in London depending on the economy. It’s the fact that the eastern part of London is poorer than the western part. Having considered of this fact, the designers of the London Olympic games decided to construct most of the stadiums and the houses which were for the athletes to live in in the east. I think it can be a legacy for London in material aspect for the reason that when the games were over, they can be possessed by the people in eastern part

and it can surely improve the living condition of people there so as to help shorten the economical gap existing between the rich and the poor. More importantly, the basic establishments of the eastern part have been greatly improved from the living condition to the transportation condition, which becomes more convenient for people to travel around.

Another material aspect of its legacy is related to the employment of the graduates of the universities. It was a time when one fifth of the graduates could not find a job at that time. But thanks to the Olympic games, there were ten thousand more jobs that could be available to them, which would surely accelerate the development of its economy as well as make people there live a more wonderful life. And we can also see this benefit from a data that is 13 billion pounds of bonus that the Olympic games had brought to Britain, which was declared by the prime minster of Britain, David William Donald Cameron. So in material aspect, it’s true that the Olympic games have brought great economical benefit to Britain and it’s also a legacy for Britain.
