【Analysis of the material】
This teaching material is the first period from Section A in Unit 7How much are these socks?, which is about the names of clothes and talking about the prices of the clothes. This period is a listening and speaking part, appearing before the grammar, reading and writing part, which can provide he basic language knowledge and listening and speaking skills for students to further talk about the clothes and ask about the prices.
本节课的授课对象是初中一年级的学生,他们对于英语的学习充满兴趣,并且很乐于参与课堂的英语学习活动当中。对于这节课的主题来说,学生们也非常熟悉,因为每个同学都有去商店购物的经验,并且在他们小学阶段的英语学习当中也已经接触到表示价格的数字、形容衣服的颜色、以及简单的衣服词汇,因此,教师希望通过本节课的学习让学生掌握更多的关于衣服的词汇,例如:袜子、裤子、夹克等。同时,希望学生能通过教师的引导主动与伙伴交谈自己的衣物以及询问价格。
依据情境教学法的理念,通过营造一个真实的购物情境,让学生们在小组讨论和合作当中,学习描述服装类词汇的名称以及询问价格的方式,引导学生对语言材料的自主学习。在语言教学的过程中,注重学生综合语言运用能力的培养,并在听说教学活动中融入讨论、口头表达和书写任务,为学生提供综合运用语言的机会,学以致用。教师把学生作为教学的主体,尽量满足不同学生的需要,让学生在一个轻松、愉快的氛围中进行学习。
本节课选取的是初中英语Go for it七年级上册第七单元的Section A部分。本部分是本单元的第一课时,是一个听说课,它安排在语法、阅读和写作的前面,是为了给学生的语言输出提供必要的语言材料,比如购物时所涉及的衣服类词汇,以及简单询问价格的方式。而本节课的主要容就是通过听说的练习让学生能与同伴谈论自己的衣物,以及用简单的方式询问衣物的价格。
【Analysis of the students】
The 7thgraders tend to be very enthusiastic and energetic in language classroom and very willing and active to participate. They are very familiar with this topic, because they have enough experience of buying things in real life. But they are unable to talk about the clothes and prices in English. Therefore, the most difficult task for the teacher is to guide them to talk about the clothes and prices in English. For language knowledge, they just have had some background knowledge about colors, numbers and simple names of clothes like hat,…, but there arestillsomenewwords for thenames ofclothesincludingsweater, trousers, jacket,and socks. Therefore, it’s still a challenge for the teacher to guide them to talk about the clothes and prices in English in pair work and group work.
