到长江游泳，是毛泽东一个多年的宿愿。1956 年5 月初，身在广州的毛泽东心里开始惦记

着如何到长江去游泳。罗瑞卿、王任重、汪东兴等人和保健医生都坚决反对，他们认为长江水

流急有漩涡，游泳太危险。有人还说长江中有“江猪”，以阻拦和吓唬毛泽东不要到水中。毛泽

东很生气：“无非你们怕我死在长江，你们怎么知道我会淹死呢?” 毛泽东坚持要游，公安部部

长罗瑞卿无可奈何，表示：“这事得向中央请示汇报后，才能决定!” 毛泽东打断他说：“你向谁

汇报请示，中央主席就是我!”大家只好同意了。

5 月底，毛泽东如愿地来到武汉游长江。他说：“近水知鱼性，近山识鸟音，你们经常跟我一

起还不知道我的身体，这次你们看着我给你们游出点花样来!”5 月31 日，毛泽东从武昌新亚码

头下水，第一次畅游长江。毛泽东在长江游得非常轻松自然，时而潜入水中，时而露出水面，

时而侧泳，时而仰泳，顺着水漂着走，真是怡然自得。这天风很大，天气很冷，有人顶不住了，纷纷跑到了岸上，毛泽东却在水中悠然自在。工作人员叫他上岸，他则说：“还早呢!起码要游2 小时”，“我不要休息，水里也是休息”，“我游得正舒服呢!”当大家再三强调天气不好太冷时，毛

泽东回答说：“下决心就不冷，不下决心水温再高也是冷啊!这里水上是夏天，水下是冬天，很好锻炼身体嘛!”毛泽东这次游了两个多小时。游完泳后，毛泽东再次发表自己的看法：“经常游泳

好处多得很哩!不仅能够锻炼身体，还能接触各方面的人，是了解社会各方面情况的好时机，又是最好的休息。”

第三天，毛泽东又提出到长江游泳。大家劝他在东湖里游一游就算了，毛泽东摆摆手说：“东湖是静水，搏ft风浪的乐趣，只有到长江里才能享受。”“长江可是一个天然的游泳池啊。”这一次，毛泽东从汉阳下水，穿过施工中的武汉长江大桥，直抵武昌。上岸后，毛泽

东写下了脍炙人口的《水调歌头·游泳》。在词中，毛泽东用“不管风吹浪打，胜似闲庭信步，

今日得宽余”的句子，抒发了横渡长江的畅快心情。6 月3 日，毛泽东从汉阳回游到武昌，

穿过正在修建的武汉长江大桥桥洞，一连三次横渡长江。

毛泽东主席有“说一不二”的霸气和“不达目的不罢休”的执着。正是因为毛泽东畅游长江，一首

经典的《水调歌头-游泳》才诞生于世。该词描绘了1956 年中国积极建设的现象，表达了毛泽

东对中国人民建设祖国和改变山河的豪迈气概，体现出来毛泽东对未来景象的展望，也表达出

了一桥贯通大江南北的历史意义。让我们在他的词中品味伟人的诗情：
