Because of the long history and ancient civilization that women were always thought to be in the second place underneath men,more often than not,they are looked down upon by employers in terms of job hunting, resulting from this long-standing gender discrimination in the past decades.Women’s role is usually regarded as those who give birth to babies,raise them up,as well as all of the household affairs.Consequently it is often in great difficulty for women to find a good job and earn a decent wage.

Once women did not considered to be given the education opportunity and nowadays people would naturally think women are shortage of adequate knowledge to endure that they can do well as men.For a long time women were at a disadvantage when it came to compete with men in the workplace.What is more inspiring is that women do have the ability to make things done beautifully,sometimes even better.Take Madame Curie as an example.She pulled herself through her husband’s death and discovered radium.How intelligent she was!And there are many cases that can verify this point.

So how can women win their rights back and become equal to men?In my opinion,the most important method is the awareness of women’s rights.Women,themselves,should have self-esteem on their

own,feeling they should be respected by others,regardless of whom she is faced with.Only in this way would others pay attention to women.A case in California can prove my thought.Six women brought a case against Walmart store because the company paid female employees,on average,five to fifteen percent less than males for the same work.Treating employees differently based on their gender is obviously an illegal form of discrimination.At last,the federal judge ruled the issue and punished the manager. This case indicates that women in America have very strong awarene ss of rights and know how to use proper weapon to win their rights back.However,it’s not the same situation in China.Chinese women usually keep silent when their legal rights are encroached.So I think it is of great significance that women should enhance their awareness of their rights.
